The Governor of Rivers State Gov. Nyesom Wike has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can’t do without him.


While speaking to journalists in a granted interview on Friday the 23rd of September 2022, the governor made this declaration. When asked his thoughts on the current disunity that rocked the waters of the PDP, the governor said he was not in control of people’s choices, thoughts or words, adding that; “…they can’t do without me, I don’t mean they can’t do without me, but, they can’t do without me in this state.”


During the interview the Governor spoke broadly, sharing insights on some of the underground politics that played out during and after the PDP’s convention which saw the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate.


The interview session which took place at the Rivers State government house, Port Harcourt, lasted for about 2hrs and had journalists like Gbenga Aruleba of African Independent Television (AIT), Amenze Igiebor of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and Seun Okinbaloye of Channels Television in attendance.


When asked what kind of message he would be sending during his campaign, Governor Wike said “the way I speak to journalists is not the way I speak to everyone…” saying that he had different manners of speaking and approaches that were dependent on who he was speaking to.


In response to another question, “If the election were to be called today, do you think your party will win?”
Gov. Wike had expressed confidence in his party saying that “Yes, my party is likely to win if they take advantage of the support Nigerians are giving, and do the right thing.”
Also stating that he had been wooed by other parties inclusive of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu who he claimed had asked him to run for senate after he lost the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“They know I’m important, do they woo who is not important…if you’re an asset people would always talk to you,” He said.

In a statement on Tuesday, the commission said it approved the final list of candidates “pursuant to section 32(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 and item 8 of the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election”.

“In summary, all the 18 political parties have fielded candidates and their running mates for the Presidential election. For legislative elections, 1,101 candidates are vying for 109 Senatorial seats and 3,122 candidates for Federal Constituencies i.e. House of Representatives seats, making a total of 4,223 candidates contesting for 469 legislative positions,” the statement reads.

“In terms of gender distribution, 3,875 candidates are male, made up of 35 for Presidential and Vice Presidential, 1,008 for Senate and 2,832 for House of Representatives.

“Similarly, 381 females comprising 1 for Presidential, 92 for Senate, and 288 for House of Representatives are contesting. There are also 11 Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the race.”

From the below list, it is clear that Governor David Umahi got the nod as senatorial candidate for APC Ebonyi south, while for Yobe north district, there is no senatorial candidate listed for the APC. And Godswill Akpabio, former minister of Niger Delta affairs, also made the final list as the APC candidate for Akwa Ibom north-west.

She said she stopped going to church after having sex with the pastor, who is also her step father, she blamed her mother for it. She said her mother neglected her and didn’t give her the kind of attention she gave to the other kids. She added that when her mother found out that she slept with her husband she chased her out.

Now, the twitter user says she is a stay at home girl because she can’t get a decent job due to her inadequate educational qualification. She added that she doesn’t regret hurting her mother by sleeping with her husband.

Oyindamola Emmanuel, Nigerian singer and song writer known professionally as Dammy Krane fired shots at Davido on Twitter over an alleged unpaid debt.

According to the singer, Davido was still yet to pay him for his contribution on one of his songs and taking the discord to Twitter on Monday Dammy Krane accused Davido of refusing to pay for his songwriting contribution to an earlier released track, even after reaching out to the DMW boss privately.

Although the singer had earlier threatened to call out certain “rich guys” owing him money, in a previous tweet “All my rich guys wey dey owe me money, today na Monday o. Abi make we bring am come ‘The Supreme High Twitter Court’ #Eshe,” he however followed through with his threat sharing a picture of a tweet made by Davido in 2017 which read; “Shout out to @dammy_krane!! Co-wrote the hook of ‘PERE’ with me!!”

And he had captioned the photo thus; “My Blooda @davido, run the check. I don reach out to people over the years based on split sheet & outstanding, no response. We no gats dey get this convo here,” Dammy Krane captioned the picture.

No doubt this would stir multiple reactions from social media and various fans and followers of the both artistes would jump in to defend their faves.
