Yes, the 500 million dollars super tucano fighter jets Buhari paid the Americans since 2016 to manufacture for us to fight BH was to save face from Deby.

The 15 Tanks that just arrived from China, Haven been in transit for 3 months was to save face from Deby.

Like I said, you people are the most gullible on this planet!!!

Ground troops are complain of basic weapons and welfare. Instead of the morons to deal with that, they'll rather steal millions of dollars through phony contracts...probably bringing in carcass tanks to deceive their brainless followers. The morons can't even make decent welfare provisions for people's children/fathers/husbands which they send to go and risk their lives.

While those unscropulous imbeciles at the top are a real disease to society, it is nonentities like you willing to defend their evil that are the real virus to society.

The Nigerian government placed a ban on all international flights except those specifically sanctioned by the government. There is ABSOLUTELY no way a private company can arrange for the "importation" of Chinese doctors into the country without the active support of the government.

This is Zimbabwe where president Mugabe kept making the central bank to print more and more money. Surely, you don't want this to happen in Nigeria. In some instances, the wheelbarrow could be more valuable than the "worthless" paper notes it's carrying.

As an economist,
Money is just a means to a goal. Which helps to distribute resources...

The main goal here is goods and services...

Why government (you and i) can't just increase the level of output (goods and services -stable power supply, rice, beans, garri, fish, tomatoes, yams etc and make them flood the markets, street to the point we have excess for export...

This is what China is doing. Flooding the world with cheap products even when their yarn is one of the undervalued currency among advanced nation... They keep it low but on the other way round increase their overall output.

What determines A healthy economy is not the unit of measurement (amount of naira) you have but the amount of goods and services (GDP) the citizens of that country can produce
Simple and concise response. Brilliant!
PoliticsRe: COVID-19: Total Lockdown Looms Over Nigeria by Bevista: 10:12am On Apr 10, 2020
It's unfortunate that most have not seen the big picture.

The Industrial Age is gone. We're now about to enter the Digital (AI) Age. Robots are about to take over most of your jobs. The global puppet masters are now strategically preparing for the mass unemployment that is about to hit the world.

Malaria kills an estimated 50k people in Nigeria every year. We still get on with our lives without any lockdown. Now, we're locking the entire country because of less than 10 Covid-19 deaths.

Brace up folks. We're not going back to normal.
PoliticsRe: Corruption At NDDC: Rodnab, Akpabio And The N16 Billion NDDC Contract by Bevista:
Our interest lies in the fact that a lot of fraudulent activities are taking place in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) largely perpetrated by our fellow Niger Delta people, whether as contractors or as managers of the Commission; this has become the bane of the underdevelopment of the region. Every well meaning citizen of the region should therefore rise to the occasion and condemn these heinous crimes.
This is a problem that cuts across the entire. The injustice in our is usually perpetrated by those from those societies. Unfortunately, we like to blame everyone else as if they are the problem.

As a country, we like to blame the West for our underdevelopment when in reality it is our fellow Nigerians that are the culprits. The Igbos like to blame everyone else for their problems. They blame APC, Yorubas and Fulanis for their problems when in fact all their governors and elected representatives are Igbos. Same with Niger Delta as evident from this thread. Same thing goes for even smaller tribes within a state.

It's just a bloody victim mentality and nothing else. There is no leader that is committed to developing his territory and another external entity will tell him not to do so. Rwanda is a good example.
PoliticsRe: BREAKING: Obasanjo, Okonjo-Iweala demand $44bn debt relief for Africa by Bevista:
Commendable as this is, but there is a "Moral Hazard" angle to this. African leaders cannot keep borrowing money from others, abuse those funds and then turn around to ask for debt forgiveness. Just in 2005, the Paris Club wrote off $18bn of Nigeria's debt.

Africa needs to grow up and stop always behaving like a child who is incapable of taking responsibility for herself!
BusinessRe: Naira Is 410 To A Dollar Without Demand. by Bevista:
mekaboy:
The Naira exchanges at about 410 to a dollar in the parallel market without any demand. People are not paying for school fees, hospial fees, property of even buying goods abroad. With this low demand, the dollar is 410, what happens when things normalize and business starts ? How much will the Dollar exchange for?
I've thought about this too. But I guess, it depends largely on what happens in the oil market going forward (considering oil sales account for over 90% of our FX earnings).

If oil prices stay below $30 for a significant amount of time, then the CBN will start excluding import items on it's list and limiting the FX rations it gives to Banks and BDCs. Banks will place further limits on FX transactions. All these will push the price in the parallel market to #450 - #500 range.

I understand the government is trying to borrow from some international finance organizations. The FX inflows from such borrowing will help buy some time in managing the the exchange rate...but not for long.
---
That is why it's important for the global economy to get over this Covid-19 madness as quickly as possible. The longer it continues, the longer the economic devastation...especially for countries (like Nigeria) that depends largely on oil sales to balance government budget.

The so called developed nation this CNN idiot is calling on are in hot soup without thousands of the racist idiots dying daily. They better come and learn from Buhari and Sanwo-Olu how to manage crisis before the Corona wipes them off from the world map. Useless racist white pigs.
You really think our low numbers is as a result of how well we're managing the situation? Not sure Fareed meant any ill in his commentary. He is originally from India, so I don't think he was trying to denigrate India & Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Coronavirus: The World Will Wish It Intervened If Nigeria Falls - Fareed Zakaria by Bevista:
“The first phase has been the health care crisis in the world’s major economies. The next phase is the economic paralysis, the magnitude we are only just beginning to comprehend. Next comes the explosions in the developing world.
This is a very troubling prognosis.

In Nigeria, if we're lucky (for whatever reason), we may not get a major health crisis. The major crisis will be economic...first on a government level, then on the individual level. Even at an optimistic $57 oil price, our budget was already dismal. Things will go bunkers with oil price staying below $30. Fareed is not worried about Nigeria & Co from the health angle. It's the economic angle that he is most worried about, so some of the negative comments directed to him are not necessary.

The federal allocations (FAAC) to states will drop significantly. Very soon, expect many state governments to start complaining about their inability to pay the new minimum wage. If this happens, expect industrial action from the labor unions. At the level of individuals and private enterprise, if the lockdown continues, there will be more economic hardship leading to protests & crime. If things degenerate quickly, expect the government to rollout the police and military to defend their battered political interests. At this point, things could get really messy as citizens defy the odds because they must survive.

Things are about to get really messy on the economic side if things don't improve immediately and the economy is back to running. People need to go back to their private hustle else all hell will break lose.

....expect political turmoil, refugees, revolutions, crackdowns, maybe terrorism. All of these might happen on a scale we haven’t seen for decades.

For those who don't know or may not be willing to accept, the current pandemic has been deviously engineered to create the right atmosphere to advance global vaccinations...thereby achieving global identification.

Akunwafor:
500k people dying from smoking does not call for a lockdown or government intervention; nobody forces you to smoke, smoking is a very voluntary action. It is also stated on the packs that you may live longer if you don't smoke. Cigarette companies are heavily taxed and there is no sense in banning it. I'm sure you or one of your friends smoke and even if you don't, you drink; and I am very sure you were one of those that raised their voices when a certain minister said alcohol should be banned in the whole country.

30k people die from road accidents doesn't mean everyone dies as they're entering the road. Most of those deaths are caused by over speeding which is another voluntary action by the driver.

50k die from malaria does not mean everyone that gets malaria dies. There's a cure for malaria and there are an array of drugs today that clears the parasite within hours.

40k maternal mortality rate arise from biological complications during childbirth and pregnant women patronizing local traditional midwives.

All these you have mentioned are either very avoidable problems or problems with a working solution. That being said, the government has programs in place to sensitise and educate masses concerning these problems you have mentioned.

Now, the corona virus has no cure, it is not a disease you get voluntarily, infact you won't even know you have it until you develop symptoms.

Due to it's very infectious nature, it is only logical a lockdown is imposed.

That aside, can you see how bodies are pilling up? Malaria kills 30k every year but covid-19 has killed over 50k within 3 months.

You will be very inconsiderate to say the lockdown is not merited.

As for the videos you said I should watch, I'll check them out if the network allows me. I'm stuck in a remote location outside lagos browsing with the mtn network so watching videos is a luxury for me right now.
Good points raised here. However, when I referred to the malaria deaths, I was talking about the Nigerian figures alone and not the global figures. WHO puts the global figures around +500k per year.

According to the official CDC website, there were of over 50 million infections during the 2017/2018 Flu season. Total deaths were estimated at over 60k. This is just for the US alone. You can read about it here. In the 2018/2019 flu season, there were over 40,000 deaths in the US alone. Still, there was no shutdown whatsoever.

BTW, just a few weeks ago Bill Gates was having a reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. You can read it here to see how he was justifying complete lockdowns. You will also read how he talks about vaccines as the only option to allow people to get back to their normal lives.

You can also read here about the link between ID2020 and vaccinations. ID2020 is funded by Microsoft & Gavi vaccines. During the AMA session, you'll hear Bill talks glowingly about Gavi. Here is the official ID2020 website. Scroll to the bottom to see the sponsors. Finally, click this Twitter link to to listen to a 40 secs interview by Bill Gates on the subject.

As for the videos I mentioned earlier, you'll need a lot data to be able to watch all of them...atleast 1 - 1.5gb.

I detest pastors because they are a deplorable scamming bunch. However, on this subject, I stand 100% with pastor Chris.

The entire global response to the Covid-19 pandemic has been cleverly & deviously orchestrated to achieve a single objective -ID2020. The vaccines is just their medium for achieving that. I'm not say this because the pastor said so. I was already aware of this for several weeks, and so was impressed to hear the pastor speak on the subject with such fine details.

If you're interested, you can watch the documentary - "Obsolote". You can also watch - "We're Living in 12 Monkeys". I'll also share a link to an interview with David Icke. Just keep an open mind while watching them. And if I may also add, you can watch the movie - "Contagion".

Do you think the lockdown is done because the government loves its citizens? I'll tell you what - according to the CDC/WHO website, over 500k people die every year from smoking. Globally, that figure is around 6m annually. Why have governments around the world not banned tobacco companies? In Nigeria, every year, over 30k people die from road accidents, over 50k die from malaria, over 40k maternal mortality rates. I can go on and on. Why have the Nigerian govt never considered any of those a national emergency but we now chose to lock everyone at home because 2 people died from Corona Virus? Go figure!
