I actually came to thank the SE mamas.
Yesterday I was at the market and I asked my SiL if uziza can be used to cook ogbono see said yes. So I got some. Got home and made my ogbono stock with meat and stockfish and kote fish. When the stock was cooking, I added the uziza leaves and fried my ogbono in another pan. Then I decided to taste the mixture just before adding ogbono and OMG! I finally got the exact peppersoup taste I've been longing for for over 10 years now.
Back in University in my 2nd year, I had a roomie /coursemates /bestie from Etsako. One weekend we both fell sick from home but had to be in school for a test on Monday. We both got to the hostel very tired and sickly but lucky for us, she brought peppersoup from home, we warmed it up and ate it. That was the best peppersoup I ever had in my entire life.....till today. I asked for the recipe (her mom made it) and to finally stumble upon it today......just like that! I still believe that peppersoup healed us cos we woke up the next day very well and healthy (I refuse to believe the antimalarials I took did it )

I am so sorry for the bother. I have some questions for the mamas in the house.
Please, is there any special milk for pregnant women? I'm almost through taking my 'complan milk' but I don't want it restocked as it taste like medicine and makes me nauseous.
I don't know if I should go back to my normal hollandia evaporated milk or any other recommended ones by your humble selves.
And also talking about yogurt for pregnant women, is it sweetened or unsweetened (plain) yogurt. I will also appreciate if I can get recommended to a good brand.
I am bothered about eating custard too.

Hi, you can continue with your hollandia evaporated milk. As for the yoghurt, go for unsweetened, it is better although you can indulge in the sweetened one once in a while. Unsweetened yogurt will also help you fight off thrush if you have it. I believe hollandia also has an unsweetened brand of yogurt. Habib too has. Nothing do you with custard, you can take that too. Just ensure that you check yourself for any reaction before you continue taking them. I will advice you to get it in small quantity so that even if you react adversely to them, it won't pain you much cos you didn't spend so much money getting them. Hth

Ingredients
Pomo
Periwinkle
Stock fish
Meat
Crayfish
Pepper
Maggi
Salt
Palm oil
Afang
Waterleaf

In my area 1 peak milk cup of afang is 150. I buy 4 cups and I buy 150 Naira worth of Waterleaf

When buying you can ask the people selling about the quantity of afang that you can use with Waterleaf. The Waterleaf should not be more than the afang.

Preparation
I have to say though, there are 2 types of afang leaves. There's the dried one and there's the fresh one. there's no difference between the two actually. Just that if you are to pound, the fresh one will be easier to deal with.

Let them going the afang for you in the market (some people don't like to do it sha) (they usually grind it in the small hand machine they use to grind crayfish) but if they refuse, you can pound it with mortar.

Wash your meat, season, and put on fire.
Wash and cut your Waterleaf
Cook your stock fish
If your using the periwinkle in the shells, cook it for 10mins. If it's the unshelled one, no need to precook

When it's done, leave small stock in the pot, put your waterleaf, let it cook for like 5mins on medium heat.
Put your crayfish, Maggi, add pepper if you like your food peppery. Put your stock fish, periwinkle and stir.

Add your afang, let it cook for 5 mins, then add your palm oil, stir, taste for salt and pepper, leave to simmer for a min or two, then bring it down and serve with any swallow of your choice

Belladsweet after blending it won't it be too bitter even after washing it? Fresh bitterleaf or the already washed one? Is the bitterleaf compulsory to be blended? Palm nut cream is it freshly processed palmoil? Don't be angry, immediately I saw the blended bitterleaf, my taste bud changed.

Kerrygold, loyal, and peak.
It would seem it's gotten worse with Kerry gold.

Kerrygold is our brand, it's soo creamy. You will need to check for the one she will tolerate. God help us. You can drink the milk now, it doesn't have to waste.
