He said April 18th (this counts). Do you expect the op to loose 17 days? If the landlord cannot leave 12 days remaining in April for the rent to start in May, then the rent is 18th April - 17th April next year. Just like my own is 15th Sept - 14th Sept.

Stop calling people fools. If the landlord is calculating monthly (from April 1st), the rent should end by March ending not March 17th.

You are wrong. If he moves in April 1st, rent should expire at the end of March. Now, he moved in April 18th, rent is now expiring March 20th. How come?
Rent should expire on April 17th. Mine is from Sept 15th to Sept 14th yearly.
