Top notch facilities there but lack of good access road between Owerri and Oguta is making it difficult for it to be optimally patronized.

It will only affect the volume of water in the north west states of Kebbi, Niger and Kwara but Kogi, Delta Anambra and Bayelsa will still get relatively the same volume of water because of the Benue River which joins the Niger in Kogi state.

States/regions in the lower Niger basin particularly from Anambra to the Atlantic ocean will feel very little or no impact at all. This is because this areas are in the rainforest belt that receive rainfall all year round, coupled with the fact that other major rivers like the Benue also feed the lower niger.

Bottom line, the threat is limited to NW and NC.
