If you remember that Kaduna and Kano States were included in the list of NNPC host communities in Petroleum Industry Bill as passed, then you will bother yourself no more.

It is a classic case of "see-finish". They have finally realized that nothing they do to these minorities will ever rile them again. Believe me, even if the 13% derivations is removed today, nothing will happen!

They have been totally emasculated and they're now more or less like slaves. The Fulanis and Igbos must reach a pact now and it will be game over!

I have studied this country and I have seen that only Igbos and Fulanis can truly break it apart, the others lack the will and cohesiveness to pose a sustained challenge.

Igbos and Fulanis should deescalate tensions between themselves, return all oil wells ceded to Rivers back to Imo and Abia States then dredge any channel to ensure there is a port in Igboland and I bet you Nigeria will never divide again!

Without Igbos constantly raising alarm with a new "see-no-evill" worldview, no matter what happens in other places, believe me Nigeria will stabilize. Fulanis and Igbos need to close ranks now.

[s]THEY SAID NOTHING WAS HAPPENING...HOW ABOUT THESE?

By FEMI ADESINA

As you read this piece, President Muhammadu Buhari and his team are in the French capital, attending the Paris Peace Forum, a gathering of about 30 Presidents and head of governments from around the world. The Nigerian leader is among the few that were asked to deliver a speech.

On Wednesday afternoon, we had been at the Palais Elysee, the seat of the French government, where President Buhari paid an official visit to President Emmanuel Macron, who himself had been in Abuja in 2018. Impressive is a mild word to use for the spectacle.

Earlier that Wednesday, President Buhari had been at the Shangri-La Hotel, to give a keynote address at the Nigeria International Partnership Forum, put together for Nigerian and French investing community. It was a roll call of the brightest and best in the Nigerian business firmament, including Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman BUA Group and head, France-Nigeria Business Council, Mr Tony Elumelu, Chairman Heirs Holdings and UBA, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi, Chairman, Oriental Energy Resources, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, ThisDay Group and Arise News Channels, among many others.

Now, the narrative that some people have labored to paint over the years, either out of hatred, or cheap political reasons, is that nothing was happening in the country, other than wanton killings and massive insecurity. They trumpet and magnify insecurity to the exclusion of any other thing. Yes, Nigeria battles grave security challenges like many other countries, particularly in the Sahel region, but then, many other good things are happening, while evildoers are also being given a pounding by agencies of state.

Mr President spoke to the galaxy of Nigerian and French business people and investors, to a massive applause. And what did he say?

The government in Nigeria was on the right path to achieving multi-sectoral progress. It has re-assessed and updated the national security strategy, which has contributed to success in fighting insurgents and terrorists, and also countering violent extremism.

Still firing from the hips, Mr President told his audience that there was a link between modern infrastructure and the overall economic development of a nation, “hence the massive infrastructural expansion programme we have been executing in various sectors.”

He gave examples such as railways, seaports, roads, renewable energy, housing, and many others.

Petroleum is the cash cow of the Nigerian economy, which is now being heavily diversified. But for more than two decades, the enabling law for the industry crawled through the legislature. Till the Buhari administration gave it a fillip, and out came the Petroleum Industry Act, the liberalizing force of the oil industry, with incentives as tax holidays, zero interest loans, development plan for host communities, and easy repatriation of profits, among others.

On agriculture, President Buhari spoke about the Anchor Borrowers Programme, which gives loans and technical support to small holder farmers, leading to expansion of rice mills from 10 in 2014, to 40 today. The result is that we no longer import rice enormously, and now save billions of dollars, which can be utilized for other things.

Fertilizer blending plants were about only five in 2014, today we have 46, with the result that the commodity is widely available and accessible to farmers, at modest costs.

Many other facts and figures did the President adduce to justify the fact that good things were happening in Nigeria, and investments were not only safe, but also generating handsome returns. And that makes one to challenge those engaged in the paroxysm of ‘nothing is happening in the country’ to countermand or controvert any of the stated developments.

Has security not been jigged up in a way that bandits, terrorists, insurgents have been put on the back foot? Are evildoers not being daily sent to God to answer for their crimes? Is the country not being cleaned up, and it is just a matter of time before the sanitation is completed?

Don’t they see the infrastructure? Roads, bridges, airports, pipelines, awesome projects like the Second Niger Bridge, Bodo-Bonny road, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway, Loko-Oweto Bridge, AKK gas pipelines, Lagos-Ibadan rail project that is up and running, other rail projects under construction round the country, brand new airports in Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, new runway and terminal building in Enugu, and many others. Which will the wailers, caterwauling all their lives point to, and deny its existence? Yet they keep repeating like broken gramophone records that nothing was happening in the country.

The truth is that no single government will solve all the challenges of a country in its life span. It will do its level best, and yield space for others to continue. Muhammadu Buhari has touched Nigeria in diverse ways. Our armed forces have been equipped, trained and motivated like never before. The economy has successfully been diversified, after more than five decades of lip service. Corruption is being robustly fought, stealing is something to be abhorred. And Nigeria is being rebuilt. Projects, projects everywhere, with a good number of them slated for commissioning next year.

The apostles of ‘nothing is happening, except insecurity’ should look for other music to sing, and for other dance steps. Honest Nigerians can see and feel the good things happening. It was unfolded to Nigerian and international investors in Paris on Wednesday. Those who have consigned themselves perpetually to the complaint counters should wake up. The market is over. It is time to go home, and do something better.

Nigeria will eventually pacify Igbos and you guys will become orphans going forward, with no voice. They're gradually neutralizing your claim to fame by shouting "our oyel, our oyel". With NDDC now Wazobia, including states from South, North, East and West and Imo State becoming a major oil state with return of oil wells from Rivers State.

Mkenya2019:
You clearly dont know kenya.
While Nigeria was fighting Biafra - a simple war.
Kenya was fighting Somali secessionist - backed by Somali gov - and we won - not through genocide and mass hunger - but through counter-insurgency.
Remember Kenya military started fighting in pre-colonial period.
The tactics to fight guerrilla warfare were perfected in kenya in 1950s by British as they fought Mau Mau - Biafra is crap.

These are counter-insurgency warfare that British and Kenya are very good at that.

The KDF/British Mau Mau Counter-Insurgency Warfare Tactics are worldwide recognised as most effective way to fight terrorist like Boko Haram, or Afgan or Iraq or Somalia

This is why Kenya has gone to Somali - even more tougher than Boko Haram - Alshabaab basically run Somali - with HQ in Kismayu -
We had very hostile local islamic population.
But 10yrs later - Kenya has largely succeeded to pacify.

Bottom-line; Your army should come to Kenya for basic training on counter-insurgency - and you will beat Boko Haram in few months.

It very simple strategy. You go hard - very hard initially - bomb the shiet out of Boko Haram - and then you incorporate the police and intelligence to weed out remnants - and finally you make the local "like" you - so they can stop any cooperation with terrorist and build capacity. The war is over. You go home.

Very simple.

Look at these rankings and where they placed Kenya. After talking about Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria and a few others they considered worthy, they now lumped the rest together, in such a passive way grin

Check all African rankings based on military strength, and you would never see Kenya in the first 10 while while Nigeria is always in first 3!

Even you yourself knows that Kenya is not in same league with Nigeria, military-wise but you have allowed emotions to becloud your sense of logic.

Another flimsy excuse, wake up to reality and accept documented facts

What he told you is the actual truth!

Igbos like being westernized to the extreme unlike Yorubas that like holding to their culture. That's why most Igbos in America will have English names while most Yorubas will have native names. Likewise why most Yoruba parents would be more interested to teach their kids their language more than the Igbos may want to do in America. You can easily see Yorubas having both their names and surnames in their native language while Igbos won't mind having both names in English and add to the fact they may not speak Igbo too and you would realize why Igbo numbers weren't fully captured.

Another factor you didn't consider is that Yorubas from Benin republic were also included and many of those that were included as Edoid may also be Igbos from Delta and Edo states.

Military main role is to provide security to Nigeria - not to engage in theoritical war with Kenya. Where will we ever meet so we can fight? That Nigeria army is better than Kenya is irrelevant unless we somehow meet and engage in war.

What is more relevant is whether your security forces are securing Nigeria against internal and external aggression.

On that count - your military has failed.

I repeat, Kenyan military has never, will never, and should never be in the same league with Nigerian military!

There are factors you're not considering about the Nigerian military and its failure to protect certain areas of Nigeria. When you're fighting against home grown terrorism, albeit one that has/had support of locals, you will always be sabotaged. A good example is the US army and the Afghan army that failed to defeat the Taliban despite having far superior weapons both on air and land, with equally far larger infantry. Now, will you say that US army is inferior, based on its activities in Afghanistan?

Can you match Nigeria's navy fleet, airforce or army, whether in terms of number of personnel, weapons assemblage, expertise and resources at its disposal?

When Nigeria was fighting a bitter civil war between 1967 to 1970, a war that was unprecedented in Africa, in terms of sophistication and resources thrown into it, I bet you Kenyan military, if at all it was in existence then, must have been at infancy. Google Biafra vs Nigeria civil war to understand what I'm talking about.

Kenya will stand no chance against Nigeria in any military confrontation, even if the Nigerian military is at its lowest ebb. Even Iran, Turkey and Israel has had diplomatic issues with Nigeria and they never tried to use force.
Recently, Nigerian security agents arrested former Israeli Mossad agents that arrived in Nigeria and held them for several months in detention. Yet Israeli government only sent its officials to come and plead without results. Can Kenya pull off such stunts without Mossad invading your country just like they did years ago in Uganda, your fellow East African neighbor?

Shun emotions my brother, you should know your mate!

The good thing is that all were either refitted or replaced.
How would you know what sorties and attrition rate means, when Kenyan airforce barely flies,
No single airforce in Africa flies the number of sorties flown by naf in a day. They carry out air raids in Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

Do you have an airforce.

Reminds me of those Kenyans that kept pushing the fake news of them having MI-28 grin grin . Took years before some could accept the reality, while others like you still believe you have them in secret locations. grin

Ordinarily, doing a dick measuring exercise with these Kenyans about who has a better military should be seen as an insult on Nigeria. Can Peru compare its military with Brazil? Or Vietnam compare its military with China?

If not for corruption and nepotism, we ought to have the best military in Africa, by light years, with only Egypt and South Africa playing catch up, but here we are comparing with banana republics like Kenya and Tanzania.

Have we all gone mad in Nigeria?

Can someone explain to me the madness of adding Borno, Gombe, Lagos and Bauchi as Niger Delta states?

What business does these states have with NDDC?

Does any of these so-called states drill up to 10 litres of crude oil talk more of commercial quantities?

Why smuggle these states into NDDC and claim they're producing crude oil based on propaganda and media reports? Which companies are drilling the crude oil there, is it Shell, Chevron, Seplat, Mobil? Can they name them?

Let's even assume they have started drilling crude oil in those places, then what brand of foolishness will make someone call Borno, Lagos, Bauchi or Gombe Niger Delta states? Must they be under NDDC?

If truly they've started producing oil in commercial quantities (which we all know to be false) why not create Chad Basin Development Commission, CBDC for Borno, Gombe and Bauchi? Why not create Dahomey Basin Development Commission, DBDC for Lagos?

Watch how they would start bringing in Adamu, Musa and Salaudeen into NDDC and even making them chairman of the commission!

Watch how they would start executing projects in those places even more than the actual oil producing states!

You see why Igbos are the smartest Nigerians while others would rather keep decieving themselves because they're afraid to stand on their own.

Shame on all the so-called Niger Deltans who continue to watch while their heritage is abused and used for others while they languish in poverty and pollution!

Woe to all of you gutless cowards!!!

So, Lagos cannot be called Niger Delta, but Anambra should be referred as Niger Delta Area Abi?

Go pick any atlas or check Google maps, look at the location of Anambra state again before you start asking unreasonable questions.

What does Niger Delta mean? It literally means the areas surrounding the mouth of the River Niger and its tributries as it empties into the ocean! Now, Anambra lies along the River Niger and shares borders with Delta, Imo, Rivers and Abia States. These states I mentioned alongside Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa are the real geographical Niger Delta.

It is shear stupidity to call Lagos at the far western end of Nigeria and others like Borno, Gombe etc Niger Delta. That's gross foolishness!

What happens to creating Dahomey Basin Development Commission, DBDC for Lagos or Chad Basin Development Commission, CBDC for Borno and others in the NE?

It is such crass irresponsibility, injustice and cheating that causes instability and makes Nigeria unattractive as a nation.

I only pity the Niger Delta minorities for being so timid, they will rather insult Igbos who are at the forefront of fighting all these madness than uniting with them to forge a common front.

Tomorrow, under the banner of NDDC, Gombe, Lagos or Borno without any form of commercial oil production will start producing NDDC chairman or having projects done there, even more than the states producing the oil.

I spit on Nigeria and the madness going on here!!!
