Permit me to share my experience, I will not go into details but I will try as much as I can to let you have an idea of what transpired between us. When I was very young in those days in Owerri. I had a relationship with my cousin. Among my cousins, this particular one was very special. The first time we met she fell in love with me. You know a situation where parents will decide to take their wards to grandparents place to know the culture and ettiquete of a particular place. Those days we were living with grandma, I was in the University then and she was looking for admission. I helped her gain admission. But before then, we had fallen in love. I loved her so much to the extent that I wanted to forfeit my National Youth Service Corp.
Truly if not that we are cousins I would have married her then because we are so much in love with each other and we were not ashamed of it. Then I remember that I used to post on nairaland if it is incest to marry one's cousin. I kept receiving different opinion from nairalanders. But I took a bold decision and prayed over it. And God answered my prayers.
Fast forward to now, I am happily married but she wants me to continue the relationship but I refused vehemently. I tried as much as I could not to allow us to be together alone. She tried all she could to make us be together but I dodge this.
I am sharing this experience because I know that there are some people who maybe having similar challenge but don't know how to deal with it. Having it with your cousin isn't a good thing to do, there is always a repercussions attached to it.
