Can't wait to hear Davido's new single ....baba halfsa in hot soup |
I could recalled my first client, Aunty Lola. She had saw me displayed my cortexs in a little small trolley beside my mum's shop. She was a fair woman in her mid-late thirties. She wanted her nails fixed by me. She wanted a long oval tip glass nails on her fingers and an average size nails on her feet. I did it like an amateur I was, right from filing her nails to applying the almighty alteco to fixing the artificial nails. I fumbled, I performed woefully but she had seen something else in me. She was not shouting or vexing as she took the file from me and did her thing. I had superglued the artificial nails on her flesh instead of inside her cuticles. Painting the nails was something else, I remembered my boss told me to always brush the cortex upwards and not sidewardly. Well, I failed too... The nails was nothing to write home about. I refused to collect from Aunty Lola but she declined, she paid and promised to check on me some other time. I thank God today, Aunty Lola cannot fix her nails without seeing me, I could fix nails perfectly with my eyes locked. I remembered when I was in my second year, someone had introduced LAPO microfinance bank to my mum, being a careful woman like she was, she declined getting involved, my aunty sha dragged me and I and my friend borrowed thirty thousand from them. It took us few days to determine what we wanted to sell. Well, I suggested undies (lingerie), we took the money to the market and bought our good. We started hawking our wares around the streets, hostels and offices then it started booming, we go to get our goods every market days and paying back a thousand seven hundred was not a problem for myself and my friend. We would even pay a daily contribution of two hundred par day and earned six thousand at the end of month. With this, we go to the market and buy clothes and other things for ourselves. It continued this way and I started paying for my handouts myself. I paid for my fare to and fro school and I was feeling well. SEVEN YEARS LATER She ran to her grandmother in tears, ignoring the man who sat beside her. "Mummy, I don't want to go to school anymore..." She had cried "Why baby?" Pemisire placed the beautiful girl on her lap. "My friends said I don't have a father..." She sneezed. "Oh my dear, Dad is here..." Solo opened his hands wide inviting her into his arms. Toluwa had grew into a beautiful girl, beautiful like her mother and fearless like her father. She went into his arms relunctantly. "Daddy!" She called slowly, looking up. "Yes honey." "Why am I not living with you and mummy?" She asked innocently. "Because you have to stay with mother or don't you want to stay with her?" He replied with a big grin. "I heard grandma telling big aunty that my parents are dead." "No o... I am here joo." He smiled, Toluwa was difficult to deal with, she could talk you to death. "But daddy..." "...guess what?" "Daddy, I...." She wanted to protest. "We're spending the next vacation in Atlanta with mummy..." He announced, Toluwa was happy. She was going to spend time with her 'father' and his wife. Pemisire watched the kid as she reminded her of her first son, Gori Fatoyinbo. She had been taking care of her since the day death took her parents, Gori and Tiwa and she was happy she was growing fast, faster than she could imagine. All thanks to God and Solomon, who had been there for her since the tragic incident took place. "Daddy." "Yes." Solo answered. "Do you know what my friends are calling me?" She asked smiling. "What? Princess..." "No." "Queen." "No." "Then what?" "Shadow." She was laughing. Pemisire Pedro and Solo were both shocked. "Shadow ke?" They asked in unison. "Do you know I always stalk all bullies and I report all bad teachers in my school? I fight for other..." She handed deranging her hair. "See, Tolu, go inside..." Pemisire ordered. "Why now?" She wanted to protest but the look on grandma's face spoke volumes to her. She stood to leave. "I bought a new dress for you." Solo announced bringing out a green dress. "I hate green colour..." She said irritatingly and left. Pemisire and Solo excahngwd glances. Toluwa was not a young girl, she was wiser than her age. Gorilla's reincarnate THE END |
As I was applying the finishing powder on her face, I let out a smile. A victorious one.! I had made a right choice and I am not going to regret ever doing it. I am Mayowa Abiodun, a few of my friends call me bibilicious while other, Arikegold. I clocked twenty-three years last February, a graduate of Education and English. I am fair-skinned,tall and of an average height. Guys gushes over my tiny shape, my greatest endowment was my round bum, girls approached me and some even touch my bum to know if it's natural or I use bumpad. I've a long neck and a wide open teeth. Doctor, my closest friend had advised me to try modelling which I would have considered if not for my passion for something else. Few days after the completion of my service year, people who knew me started asking me what the next step was, truthfully, I was confused. Either to go for my masters or get my CV flying over the schools in Ado Ekiti. My parents called me and asked what the next step would be, well, I was squatting in my sisters' room since they'd given my room of for adoption, like I was not having a room in my father's house. Well sha, dad said he was using that to send a message across to me but for me, he was joking... Bleep the message. I told him I don't even have a plan yet. "After acquiring all skills in this life abi?" My dad had asked then it dawned on me that I don't have to stress myself looking for a job, I'm skilled in many fashion field ranging from nail fixing, bead making, cream mixing, soap making, makeup artistry to fashion designing.YES,all for me, they call me jack of all trades! The following week, my father got a shop for me in the neighbourhood which I placed under lock for about a week since I don't even have any reasonable capital. A brief introduction into my parents and childhood. I grew up in a perfect home of mixed religion, a family of four. My parents got married late and I came into the picture, a product from a mixed religious background, dad been a Muslim allowed us to follow mum to church. My father is a lecturer in a college of education in my state while my mum is a business woman. We were so comfortable while growing up and he showed love to my sister and I. Yes, we are just two, two wonderful, vibrant and hardworking ladies, we are our parents' joy. I started hawking Abidjan soaps, vegetable oils and mats for my mother at age eight, I did not hawk alone, I hawked along with my aunty who was staying with us as at that time. Well, my father would not have anything of that and it all stopped the day a mad man beat me up at the market square in Ikere Ekiti. It was not a funny experienced, I stopped hawking and my mum opened a shop where she diaplyed her goods, she later started selling provisions and her shop was booming. When I was ten, during the long vacation, my mum bought a crate of egg for me and I started selling, after the long vac, I had raised money for my school uniforms, sandals and backpack. Not that my parents were not financially buoyant, but my mother wanted us to be a strong and independent woman. Well, I'm happy we were raised well. Selling raw and boiled eggs helped me through secondary school, I would sell eggs, sweets and gums to get my uniforms and other essentials, sometimes, I would buy 'aso odun' and even buy things for my parents. After gaining admission into the university, I knew I had to upgrade my level from the regular 'freeyard' skirts babe to the new 'pencil' skirts girl. My dad would pay my school fees, buy me textbooks, bought few dresses for me at the beginning of every semesters but hell no, I needed more. How would I get money to make myself comfortable? Do I have to sleep around like other girls? |
Good day, nl people... I'm about to share my story with everyone (autobiography) on skill acquisition and self employment... |
ralphkennie:Thank you honey |
honourable356, thanks baby |

Thelmerh:There are two Goriola- the VC- Gori Anikulapo and his son(the shadow, Tiwa's boyfriend- Gori Fatoyinbo. Tiwa -Gori's girlfriend and baby mama.... She killed him by stabbing him through daughter. Pemisire Pedro is Gori's mother who was rescued by her dead husband's father, the man who wanted to kill Gori for money. She was impregnated by Gori Anikulapo who used her as a sacrifice for the green. She could not remember anything till she met him. Miss Eyiwunmi is Tiwa's mother, co-leader of the Green Oluwo was the one who initiated G-boy(read part one), he was also Miss Eyiwunmi's father which makes him Tiwa's grandfather, he was the founder/leader of the green. Solo is Gboy's friend (former enemy, read part one) Jakande,Irabor and Jude are the police officers. |
"Goriola Anikulapo!" She pointed a finger towards him. "Who are you?" She looked much like his old girlfriend but hell no, she was dead. "It's me Pemisire Pedro..." His eyes widened! It was his old girlfriend but why was she there. "Goriola..." She turned to Gori.. "This is your biological father!!!" She placed her hands on her ahead, Tiwa collect her child from Gori who stood up, pacing round the room. "My father!" "My son!" They asked almost immediately exchanging glances. "Gori, please stand... You cannot kneel for your son..." Pemisire Pedro made to run to him but she was held back by Gori. "Mum, how come? The confused Gori Fatoyinbo asked. "He... I don't know... He was my fiancée... Gori, where are my parents?" She asked impatiently. "I... I haven't seen them since you left... But your dad launched a book recently" He stammered. "Since I left?" She was disappointed, he had betrayed him. Her parents were her joy, she was their only daughter and when she introduced Gori to them when she was in her first year, they had accepted him as part of their family and made sure he was retained after his service year, he was the registrar as at then. Four years into their relationship, Pemisire had gotten pregnant and Gori gladly accepted but their was when the troubles started. Gori wanted to join the Green and as a prospective member, he was to sacrifice his wife. Even though it was hard to do such to a woman who do not only loved him, but a woman who stood with him from when he was wearing 'wet and wear' shirt, who also got him the job that was putting meals on his table. He succeeded the sacrifice but another trouble was looming behind the desk. The leader of the Green had ordered him to dispose the woman's lifeless body which he did and ever since forgotten. Standing in front of him was his almost-twenty-five year old mystery. Immediately her Father in law(Gori's stepfather's father) saw her and took her to his house, the only thing she remembered was Omogoriola. She kept calling everyone around Omogoriola till she delivered and chose to christened her son Omogoriola. She lost her memory, everything that had happened to her before she came to Ondo State. "I thought you were dead..." "Not when she was bringing me to this world to save souls from your wicked hands." Gori spat, the VC closed his eyes in shame, he had been harrassed and disgraced to. NTA and some of the school's SUG were there and he could not bore the shame. He wished the ground could accept him that minutes. "Stop that, son! Do not talk to your father like that!" She shut her eyes as she corrected her son. "Kpa! Kpa!! Kpa kpa!!!" Pemisire opened her eyes as she heard the gunshot. "Mummy!" Tiwa ran to her mother who was already in her blood's pool. "Ti...wa... Our baby... I'm... I'm sorry...." She closed her eyes as she succumbed to death. "Gori, what came over you? You killed your own father..." Pemisire sobbed. "Mr. Man, why take law into your hands? You're under arrest!" Jakande said without moving close to the said shadow, the compound which had been filed with students was now beaming, the student in and out of the room were jubilating. Tiwa stood up, adjusted her breathmilk-soaked blouse and her baby, advanced towards Gori and hugged him, they were in that position for minutes till Gori fell on his kneels, with a dagger stocked in his bowels, their daughter was crying too, Tiwa removed the dagger from his stomach. "I...I...lo..ve...you..." "You loved me and you killed my mother, my only family member? You deserved death too... We both deserved death!" She cried. "Please o... Carry him for me o... Gori! Gori! Gori! Please o..." Pemisire was shouting while Olu and Solo rallied round him trying to save his life. "I am ti...red! Mission accomplished!" He coughed and breathe his last. "Gori... Gori! Wake up!" Solo cried! "Ah!" She dropped her baby and fell, the two people who meant life to her were dead and she wanted to end it all too... She had suffered a lot. "E GBA mi o..." Gori's mother cried, she ran and picked the baby as every one rallied round the two lovebirds dead body. |
dilemaguy:Bro, from the little knowledge I've gathered about relationship, "love shacks at the beginning of every relationships... Take your time about the three ladies... I would have preferred the first girl buh you're the one involved, choose and choose wisely... A failed relationship is better than a failed marriage |
Op, you put yourself in the mess... Just give her little time to heal |
sKeetz:Google search o... I don't really know |
sKeetz:There are some lovely Nigerian designers in Lagos bruv. Get one to design a beautiful customised dress for her probly in our African attires... Or maybe from Ankara, lace materials et all... Not necessary the normal Gucci designers that are all over the place |
Get a lovely dress... Or the new Nigeria made phone... Take her to the best holiday resort centers around.... Or places like olumo rock, ikogosi waterfall et all... It will live a long lasting memories |
MrBrownJay1:Haba! Do you think that will stop a girl from cheating Op, my advice is to have a dialogue with her... Most ladies(like me) don't love social media relationship... Few people know my boyfriend and I doubt if I've three of his pics on my phone, does it meanim cheating? Or maybe I don't love him enough? Check yourself and her attitude towards you... Don't let nairaland people to push you into ruining a supposed beautiful relationship o |
Ihatelove:What comment? Op said something about drug and I advised him to go for the normal procedure... So what's there to judge about? Most guys here on nairaland pretend as if they're different from other men we do see around... Let's learn to behave maturely and tackle issues straight... You don't know me from Adam buh on mere seeing my comment, you chose to abuse my personality... Well, I'm used to feeling with a lot of people like you... |
