The helicopter was never downed but had technical failure. Unfortunately, the aircraft fell close to the
terrorist side therefore the A-jet which went in with the helicopter could not perform CAS due to danger close. The aircraft kept sweeping the area and the jet was later called in to destroy military hardware in that area to avoid it being taken over by the insurgent.
there are better options instead of destroying a multimillion piece of hardware that calling an A-jet .. huh huh huh

True. What impressive about Ethiopian military is efficiency. We are doing what we do in a very small budget.

This july and august is going to be terrible...because BHT has been hibernating somewhere and just got new stock army equipment.......when we were going weeks without confrontation, i was saying it, something is wrong....the front is too quiet to be a front.....later we started confronting and making seizures...it was 1 ak 47 and den guns.....later more aks and fewer den guns, later more assorted rifles and grenades , later more assorted rifles, grenades and anti aircraft guns.......that is when i started sensing major battles like this are going to be cropping up.
July & August are always worst because of the bad terrain .

You've always mentioned these.. Now they are showing there ugly face.

His talking about the military Base in Tobermory state.

The casualty figures might not be as high as 100 but expect something close to it.

Since I have been following these dude reporting on BHT activity on twitter; his stories as always come out true.

Have you forgotten the downed NAF Mil 17 helo, in as much I hate to dispute the story but it later came out to be true, despite military authorities claiming otherwise and other sad events like these.

The Nigerian media is now focusing on the 23 missing soldiers. This was the first attack on a convoy in Bama, there was a second onslaught on a military facility in Jilli, Yobe, in that single attack, we lost over 100 servicemen.

All this bad news coming out of the NE theatre these past few days is really disheartening, I thought the war had advanced well behind this stage. undecided

I thought we were in a mop up stage and these terrorists had been degraded to the point they could only hit soft targets and sparsely guarded outposts.

It’s starting to look more like a never ending war of attrition, similar to conflicts in India, Pakistan and turkey.

RIP to our galaxy soldiers paying the supreme price for this country
Such is the nature of COIN.

In spite of all these little set backs, we are winning the war.

You are right that war should also be included and also including the 1960s war between Somalia-Ethiopia. By the way, my father was commanded during Ethio-Eritrea war and I lost some relatives who went there to fight.
Abyssinian–Adal war
British Expedition to Abyssinia
Ethiopian–Egyptian War
Mahdist War
First Italo-Ethiopian War
Second Italo-Ethiopian War
World War II
Korean War
United Nations Operation in the Congo
Eritrean War of Independence
1964 Ethiopian-Somali Border War
Ogaden War
1982 Ethiopian–Somali Border War
Ethiopian Civil War
Eritrean–Ethiopian War
War in Somalia (2006–09)
2007–08 Ethiopian crackdown in Ogaden .

Judging by the facts and sources of equipment and (army &airforce) size; they are doing better than us, also in private defence sector.

And to my shock the Ethiopians have the highest number of UN military personnel contributors, sources released by UN.

The few upper hand we have is we have a Navy, population and much more stronger "economy per GDP".

AN/PVS-14 monocular HMNVGs in service with Egyptian Special Operations.

One of the problems with how Egyptians use optics and NVG in particular is the lack of laser light modules. Meaning no IR laser or illuminator for aiming and spotting targets. .
