And what is this? How are the lives of these northern Kenyans like?

I have seen the kind of lives most Turkanas, Samburus, Somalis and other northern Kenyans live, believe me, I was ashamed to be an African when I saw what their lives were like.
One or two isolated projects don't mean anything.

There is no single city or viable commercial centre in the entire northern Kenya. That is what I call real marginalization.
That's just so arrogant of you to think you know what is best for these people. These are nomadic people they don't roll like you their wealth is herding cows so money/cities are a distant thought to them .Its akin to going to Fulani herdsmen and telling them to move into Jos, Abuja or Ibadan to be modern yet that is not what Fulanis value.Go see the kind of bloody tribal wars they fight over cattle rustling then you'll know where their values are.Stop being so presumptuous about people you know so little about.

ChiefSweetus:
Ethiopian Air is probably the best I've flown internationally. Great in-flight food and service. Had a delayed connecting flight, took us to Addis - complementary hotel and food (although the hotel food was tasteless lol)

The Addis hub is also fantastic. MMIA and Nigeria is a joke compared to their country's aviation system which accounts for at least 10% of their GDP I imagine.

Kenya Airways is very discriminatory towards Nigerians. Sub-par service/aircraft from Lagos to Nairobi. Subsequent connecting is usually an upgraded aircraft. Flew an AMAZING 787 from Joburg to Nairobi only to be put on a smelly and rickety 737 on the onward to Lagos. Trust Nigerians, flight was delayed over an hour because people refused the double standard (people coming from Dubai, and other connecting hubs who had just stepped off better planes reserved for more profitable routes whites and Arabs. The discrimination against Nigerians and the subsequent ruckus was very very embarrassing.
That's a very nonsensical and misguided opinion/view of the airline.Any aircraft they use on this route is not exclusively for Nigeria destination &
Nigerians - the aircraft used flies further to Accra ,Dakar ,Abidjan carrying other Africans not just Nigeria as their final destination.Does this mean KQ discriminates other west Africans too? You clearly don't know how airlines arrange their flight schedules.

Actually is the other races that are closer to monkeys than black people.

They all have smaller lips like monkeys.
They all have straight hair like monkeys
They all have pale skin just like you see in a monkey when you scratch their bodily hair to look inside.

Black people have none of these monkey similarities.

Lotsa ladies are secret perverts look at them deriving great pleasure looking at and taking pics of a young man's manhood and humiliating him.In my high school one girl was caught red handed after she made a usual habit of covering her head inside her sweater 's holes to stare at some boys sitting across from her wearing school uniform shorts. Then on Sunday's she'd be at church like clockwork without fail.

Obi1kenobi:
You made this statement below to contradict a point I made:

It's meaning is clear as day. Had you even perhaps referred to only Hong Kong, you'd still have been wrong, but not ridiculously wrong, since Hong Kong's autonomy comes with unique benefits of only independent nations like its currency, but it still lacks the sovereignty of an independent nation. But you made a generalized claim that "the word autonomy refers to independence". Which is arrant nonsense. And then rambled on with irrelevant points about how Scotland etc don't have their own currency, as if anyone was ever arguing about that. What does all that have to do with the simple fact that autonomy and independence are not the same thing?

The very central theme to this thread is that Kenya is a more developed nation than Nigeria. Your Nairaland existence since then has been almost
entirely devoted to contradicting that. If by a host of metrics about HDI, poverty rate, literacy rate, inequality, life expectancy, infant mortality
etc Kenya consistently outperforms Nigeria in most international metrics, what then are you even arguing about here, or do you simply enjoy
reading yourself? Because if you "acknowledge" those things as you claim, then the entire premise of extending this thread interminably makes no sense. Is Kenya more developed than Nigeria or not?

What "cheap" shot? I posted about a recent experience of mine with the Nigerian police. You made a snide retort basically telling me that it's not the forum's business (as if the story is something private). I pointed out evident reality: that the only reason for that churlish, juvenile response is simply because I made it about the Nigerian police.
I've already stated my premise for my claims about Nigeria's corruption: it's borne of my experience of the rot in every sector in the country. Simple. The amusing thing is with your outrage about it, one would think I disparaged Norway's corruption record, rather than Nigeria, a country ranked 148th out of 180 in the TI corruption perception index.
Looool ,i've always found it funny and hypocritical when Nigerians use the huge population when it suits their advantage then they wanna disown the same population when the facts ,indexes and numbers don't add up to their qualitative and other advantages.

Like George W Bush once said "you're either with us or against us" . If i was the nation-state called Nigeria i'd be ashamed and disown some folks who only use me when its suits them and when i'm in dire straits they know me not.

1. Nigerian youth team misses IAAF World U18 Championships in 2017 .

2. Nigerian football team to Rio Olympics gets stranded in Atlanta.

3. Nigerian Super Eagles fans stranded in Russia July 2018

4. African athletics teams get standed in Lagos July 2018

Conclusion -there's a deeply ingrained culture of disorganization in Nigeria. Organizing for International sporting events is a Nigerian weak link.

Naija should at least stop playing with other nations' lives like this. We understand you dont value human life over there but in other African countries people do take life very seriously.
And paint or wash the freaking plane!

We will be sending our own KQ jetliner to pick our athletes from Asaba. We don want them boarding those flying coffins again.

Again for the last time ( tired of repeating myself). Population is a major ingredient influencing GDP growth( or a factor in a large or small gdp) but GDP by itself is not measured based on population? Do l still need to break this down or do you want to google?
No no that's a major lie from a fake "kitchen" economist.

Norway ,Sweden ,Netherlands etc have large GDP's yet they have small populations. High or low Productivity based on the big factor of human development is the real determinant of how large a GDP can be.Don't let a huge GDP like India's or Philippines fools you coz those nations are low productivity GDP 's.

Tuhubiri amani and a healthy respect for rule of law too.The moment we create big demi-god politicians who abrogate established civilized norms of redress for their grievances its very dangerous.Only when rule of law is widely respected that's when you'll have true lasting peace cuz everyone will fear being held accountable later.

As for me an myself am loving it...Take it as show of freedom of expression.. Great democracy we got ain't we?? grin
That's a very unfortunate and dangerous statement. We can't all defy the court system rulings, defy electoral commission results and then stage an unconstitutional swearing in disguised under "freedom and democracy".

Countries have governance systems for a reason -take your grievances to court, lodge complaints with or against the electoral commission, file appeals ...that kind of thing. The moment everyone takes laws into their hands and rents massive crowds to defy the constitutional route then you're inviting a dangerous monster of laws of the jungle where politicians feel very powerful that no govt can hold them accountable .

Uhuru Kenyatta,Odinga ,Weta,Ruto ,Kalonzo - all of them should also be subject to the law equally none of them is more important than the security of 45m people.Don't disguise dangerous stunts under "freedom and democracy" bcuz no freedom anywhere is absolute,Even USA and Germany Japan -all nations can limit some personal freedoms where national security is at risk.Don't invite Rwanda '94 genocide or risk another 2008 bloodbirth under disguise of "fighting for democracy" cuz the moment everyone does whatever the hell they want ,its over you won't have a country anymore and its gonna be war and bloody mayhem...it seems we never learnt from the pain of 2008.

Op sha, you sef no try...

You just handpicked the bad comments first and padded it with a few good comments. I was on the website yesterday and there were lotsa matured Zambians who commended the Eagles and admitted that the best team won.

But someone made a statement that rang true: He said Nigerians are fond of tongue lashing other African countries in an arrogant way. The guy even mentioned Nairaland. That's the reason he was dishing back all of that.

I remembered clearly when we last visited Zambia and a report of how the citizens were happy to see Obi and co, someone here on Nairaland said something so appalling about Zambia girls.

Point is, let us learn to respect other African countries. Because they are trying.to dish back to us what 'we' dish to them... And there are a lot of

loopholes to attack Naija from.
Going by the rough and rude culture of surviving Lagos (at least thats what i hear cuz i've never been there) ,the Igbo vs Yourba vs Hausa fights here and the looklng down on other Africans i've witnessed on nairaland i can say whoever wrote that particular comment is not far off the truth. You're spot on ,respect yourselves.
