This is why it is very important for all of us to identify all the reasons why employers in Nigeria prefer to hire foreigners instead of Nigerians. We should also display solutions. This is a major problem in Nigeria that needs our attention for the sake of tomorrow. I'm sick and tired of jobless college (university) graduate professionals walking around the country with empty stomach. This must stop. It is our country, our people deserve to be considered the "first choice" It is very simple, Nigeria will never never move forward if the citizens have absolutely no hope to get decent jobs, just because of expats. It should be Nigerians first in Nigeria, no disrespect. |
Posted by Mcken: Leadership is not about following conventional wisdom or being guided by the snapshot of latest public opiinnion, it is about acting out of conviction for what is right".McKren: Please, delete that Tony Blair's statement. The statement means absolutely nothing. Tell him to cover his ass with banana leaf. He's part of Iraq war disaster and he should be ashame of himself. |
@Mckren: I'm not trying to celebrate anything, read the introduction of the topic. The intro says it all, my friend. Is EfCC an alarmist organization? What was really behind this OBJ war against corruption? Who are the corrupt officials and who are not? Where is Fayose? How come Dariya came back to disappear again? I've said this many times, Yaradua is not stupid, he knows what's up. The last thing this man needs is to get himself involved with OBJ left over mess. Every single politicians (present or former) in Nigeria are corrupt; this is a known fact. And this is also the reason why these governors are not frighten by EFCC noise. Too many are Too corrupt for Too long. It is absolutely a rat race war and a waste of time. The purpose of this war against corruption was to stop Atiku and it has been accomplished. Ribadu already got his bonus, life goes on. Nobody will be arrested; but you just never know, I may be wrong. |
Day number: 3 I haven't heard of any successful arrest! |
Got your point. In order for Nigerians in Nigeria to compete more effective for jobs, our standard of education in Nigeria must improve. Good point! So, what about enticing Nigerians from abroad with job opportunities at home, instead of enticing the Indians? This used to be the case back in the days. We must bring back those beautiful days before we trade or sell the pride of our country to foreigners. |
First, I do not buy that "not working hard" stuff, it is totally far from the fact. Second, it's not about being jealous; it's about finding a better way to upgrade our skill level and provide job opportunities for the citizens of Nigeria, which will eventually be beneficial to the progressiveness of the nation. Third, if competency level is the issue, then we must find a way to gear up and improve our skill level. Finally, a nation will never never move forward without providing job opportunities for the citizens. It is that simple. This is a very important area I think this new administration should improve. Our people need jobs and the future of our nation can not depend on Indians; it must depend on us and our children. In 20 years time, we do not want Nigeria to face this Mexican issue United States is currently facing; Instead, we should put policies in place to protect the citizens, motivate our people to upgrade their skill levels, and work together as one. You need to travel around the world and double check the competency level of Nigerians in different areas and the level of our work ethics. I'm confident that you will be surprised. Please, don't degrade or label Nigerians as being lazy; we are talking about Nigerians in general, not just one or two. |
Are you saying Nigerians do not work hard enough? |
First, I'm not against the Indians, but if our mission is to move our country forward, our people need jobs to be able to fully participate or contribute toward rebuilding our nation. So, if you're an Indian, please don't take it personal; my people, Nigerians need jobs to be able to function positively in our society and I think they deserve to be the first choice when it comes to job opportunities in Nigeria. It makes absolutely no sense to ask a jobless college (university) graduate to be involved in rebuilding our country when this individual can not even provide for himself or herself. You just don't send an army with an empty stomach to war; it just doesn't work this way. I believe moving our country forward is also giving our people (Nigerians) first class job opportunities, this way these people can provide for themselves and for their families. We must discover why employers continue to import employees from another country (especially the Indians) when we have tons of jobless educated professionals at home who can hardly eat one meal a day. If we are truly committed to moving our nation forward, then we must quickly discover why employees are being shipped from another countries and also find an effective strategy to resolve this unbearable issue as soon as possible. Therefore please, sumbit your reasons and also feel free to present your solutions. Our brothers and sisters are home hungry and begging for food. We must work together as one vigorously and find a better way to ascend back to the top; FYI: Messages from this site are getting to the right people in Nigeria, so do not hesitate to bring it on if you have bright ideas. May God bless Nigeria. |
We, Nigerian citizens must also play a major part in rebuilding our nation. I'm confident that this administration will bring smile to our faces. We must show our full support by working together and doing what is right to polish our image all around the world. |
Thanks for your priceless wisdom. |
MAMAJAMA: You sound very concern! Don't worry, IG will not be arrested, at least for now. |
Day number: 2 I haven't heard of any successful arrest! |
Donzman: when are we finally going to have an igbo president in Nigeria? I'm starting to understand where your frustration is coming from. Keep hope alive, my brother! |
Good point! He should also negotiate with the corrupt officials to release some of the money they've stolen. |
Not a big deal; it is unnecessary to blow his cover. Let us refocus our attention on the topic and give odeku or mamajama the respect he deserves. |
I think, they might arrest 1 or 2 scape-goats, just to send a message. |
We definitely do not want a useless boy scout, who doesn't poses balls to call his own shot. |
We don't care if you're loyal or not, all we ask for is a productive IG who understands his duties as a government official and competent enough to get the job done effectively and efficiently. My man, Ehindero wasn't even close. Sorry! |
Marwa is a sensational leader. Good move. |
I wonder if it's OK to also probe former IG. Because of Nigerian police Department dirty and corruption tradition or ritual ; I think it is a bigger challenge for any IG to stay clean. I say, don't let us focus on just the governors, let's include other dirty officials. |
Posted by Big b1: So far I do not have any names; I even doubt it if there will be any@McDoe: I'm with you 100% |
I do not care where you reside, leadership role is universal. There is absolutely no excuse; even if the resource is not there, then a leader must improvise and exploit his or her creativity skill. If you can not deliver, then you must step aside and allow competent individuals to take control. It is that simple |
Posted by MAMAJAMA: How can you expect a police man to perform when they have nothing to work withThis should have been one of his major accomplishments, but as usual, the man didn't have vision and 98% of the time he was lost. The man was focused on everything except his duties. He was in the middle of politics, which he didn't really understand. He has accomplished zero and he should be ashame of himself; I would have been crying too just to see him discarded like an unwanted bird. I beg, let's talk about something more constructive; this is a mere waste of time. It is a dead chapter! Sorry, MAMAJAMA, that's just the way it is, my friend. We are totally against selectivity. |
Thank you very much, my brother. |
Posted by MAMAJAMA do you want me to tell you what is next for Ehindero?Save your time and energy, I truly do not want to know. As far as I'm concern, the man was absolutely useless. He did nothing other than yes sir, yes sir behind OBJ and the implementation of the new police uniform. I'm sorry, my friend, that wasn't enough. And I truly see why you've selected him to be your hero; and I'm happy for you as long as you stay far away from Nigeria. Police depart is still the same shit; they are openly corrupt, they are openly dirty and this department still represents one of the most degrading job that is around in Nigeria today. What did he do to promote security for the citizens? What did he do to find Funso Williams and Bola Ige's killers? What did he do to calm things down in Ibadan and Enugu? What did he do to polish the image of Nigerian police dept? What did he do to rectify open police street bribery? What did he do to rectify or reduce day time harm robberies? What did he do to make men in uniform's lives better? I beg, give me a big break! I'm glad he's gone, it's time for new beginning and it's time to move forward. No disrespect, to me this man represents an abortive officer who needed to be chased out of the city. Even if kudos were free, he deserves none. |
Day number: 1 I haven't heard of any successful arrest! |
Excellent move by Yar'Adua. A clear sign that indicates progressiveness. To move our nation forward effectively and efficiently, we've got to get rid of all these useless junkies. |
At this point it will be unfair to blame the present president for anything. He needs some time to study things and get to understand the present situation. Let's allow him to enjoy his new position for few days; It will take at least 6 to 14 months for any of us to start enjoying the wonders of this new administration. Let's stay cool for now and hope for the best. |
It is very refreshing to know that OBJ (the bully) is finally gone. I would like to see the re-introduction of privatization at a larger scale in Nigeria. This will speed up the economy and social improvement process. It will create more reliable professional jobs for the citizens, and also allow the new administration to exercise their attention to other major Federal government projects. The result of Privatization in Nigeria will be 33.33, 33.33, 33.33 win. (a win, win, win situation) Investors will make money, citizens will have more reliable professional jobs and the new administration will look like a magician. I truly think this administration will be one of the best, if not the best we've ever had in Nigeria. Look out, folk; Nigeria is about to explode. The Giant of Africa is returning shortly! |
1. I'm not hungry means "I am a man and I can not be bought" 2. It could also mean "I've had enough and I'm very full" 3. It could also mean "I am bigger than any position this administration could ever offer me" |
The list of arrested corrupt governors (after May 29th) So far I do not have any names; I even doubt it if there will be any, but let's wait and see if the barking of the Fed Govt is legitimate or just a mere political performance. Please, feel free to submit names as you discover them. |
@Donzman: It is a shame and very sad to witness how people like you rap around baseless speculation. Instead of you speculating rubbish as usual, it will be nice and more productive for you to at least ask for my reason for supporting IBB. Make no mistake about it, Big b1 is one of the most decent people Nigeria ever produced. My intention is pure and very sincere. |
