Donzman is a confused lost soul. This Cat likes to talk rubbish with very tinny common sense. He wants to fight to free Nigerians, but he could hardly find his way around Lagos; what a big fool! |
Together let us welcome our new president to Aso Rock. This is an incredible man, very honest, very focused, very humble and very ready to suprise many. Together let us pray for him and assist him to the best of our abilities, to restore things back to normal in Nigeria. Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. JFK 1960s It's time to reunite and move forward as one. I'm confident that with our support this administration will do wonder and will positively touch lives of many Nigerians. Please, once again let us congratulate our new president. May God bless Nigeria. |
How Obasanjo used Adedibu against me – Ladoja Monday, May 28, 2007 Outgoing governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, at the weekend disclosed how President Olusegun Obasanjo consistently fuelled the unending crisis in the state by encouraging the state’s political kingmaker, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu to persecute him. According to the governor, Obasanjo’s wrath against him was kindled by his perceived apathy towards the President’s much-coveted third term project as well as the presumed affinity between him and Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Ladoja, who spoke to Daily Sun in Ibadan, noted that Adedibu had already been neutralized politically as far back as 2004. He asserted that Obasanjo decided to resuscitate the grand old man to fight the sitting governor for not pitching tent with the third term group. “Adedibu had already been neutralized before 2004 and it stayed that way till very late in 2005. What resuscitated him is known to everybody; the fact that the President returned him to the arena. And the reason why the president decided to tackle him was an empty one because he felt I was too close to Atiku. Some people said that he felt that I wasn’t going to support the third term agenda, that I was going to be vocal about it.” The governor, who observed that Obasanjo was hell bent on humiliating him out of office, using instruments of illegality, said he even went to Abeokuta, alongside Governors Gbenga Daniel, (Ogun), Segun Agagu, (Ondo) and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, (Osun) to explain things to the president, but that Obasanjo insisted he should resign. “I told him I was not going to resign. Then he said if you don’t resign, you would be impeached. So, I said the offences they counted were not impeachable offences. And moreso, they don’t have two thirds, and he said, two-thirds, my foot! You are going to be impeached. Then he stormed out of the meeting,” the governor stated. Ladoja dismissed criticisms that he was politically naïve by not calling the president’s bluff like Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu and his Abia State counterpart, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu. He said those two had been governors since Obasanjo’s first term in office and had therefore gained sufficient experience on how to handle the president. He also lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for its alleged connivance in his travails. While explaining his not defecting to the Action Congress, (AC) after his reinstatement in December 2006, Ladoja said it was tactical, as his adversaries were waiting in the wings to impeach him again if he officially abandoned the PDP. According to him, Obasanjo was not happy that his impeachment was quashed and would have instigated a second move against him. “They were expecting me to go and pick up the ticket of the Action Congress. And they would have impeached me again and ask me to go to court again. And we would still be in court by now,” he asserted. Ladoja also disclosed that Obasanjo was unable to hide his hostility towards his reinstatement when they spoke on phone on December 11, last year. His words: “I phoned him that night and even that night, he already showed his hostility to my coming back. I mean, I could easily see that it was because he had no choice. And he proved that one to me. When I called him to thank him for accepting the judgment of the Supreme Court, he told me, Rasheed, don’t be deceived. What I told the IG was to provide for your personal security. I don’t want what happened to Bola Ige to happen to you. But as for the governorship, the Supreme Court only declared that this governorship belonged to Ladoja, but the government is now in the hands of Akala. So, you have to go back to the court and tell the court, help me take back the governorship from Akala.” Describing Obasanjo as somebody who never believed in the rule of law, Ladoja declared: “I never believed anybody who had sworn to the constitution could say, “two thirds, my foot.” He said he knew the president was behind the crisis in Oyo State but that he had to soft-pedal and re-strategize, realizing that Obasanjo was in control of the machinery of the state. Wondering how a trained lawyer could show blatant disregard for the rule of law, Ladoja hit hard at the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero and chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Prof. Maurice Iwu, calling them the president’s errand boys. He also described as unfortunate, the President’s description of himself as, “brash and impulsive,” wondering how such a man could have hoped to successfully lead a country of 140 million people. “I would rather wish to work with somebody who is patient and reflective, who will try to know what are the consequences of his actions before he takes them, rather than somebody who thinks after he might have taken actions. Or maybe he doesn’t think at all,” he stated. http://odili.net/news/source/2007/may/28/804.htm |
Enough is enough, there is nothing left for us to gain if we continue to bash Jakumo. At least he has expressed his sincere regret and it takes a man to do that; hence instead of beating up the poor guy, please let us focus on how to improve standard of living in Nigeria, so that in few years this same writer could be invited back to make some adjustments to his or her old article on Lagos. @ Jakumo: This isn't your first time to condemn sweet Nigeria, but nevertheless, we still love you. One love! And remember, there is no place like home, Nigeria. |
@Donzman: I've showed you love and respect by placing you on a very soft comfortable bed, but you continue to place yourself on the dirty floor. Dude, why do we need to disrespect one another to make a point? Posted by Donzman: You being an opportunist, you'll prefer that it be later so you can grab yours for now, I'm not surprised reallyWhat do you mean by making this baseless unnecessary statement? I look forward to your next post. |
@Jakumo: "Don't forget who you are and where you come from" It is crystal clear that you've totally forgotten who you are, therefore you've lost your soul. It is also clear that you've got nothing to offer and one could easily tell that at home you would be nothing, but a liability; hence please, stay cool at your current location; do not come back home. Just remember, that same dirty Lagos you've condemned represents your father, mother, sister, brother and the rest of your family. I hope it wouldn't take you too long to wake up. You're nothing but another nigger, another ShakaZulu out there! |
U guys? What do you mean? |
So, at this point what is your recommendation? Current Highlights 1. We definitely do not want OBJ to stay a day longer in power 2. The entire country is currently not united (because of poor OBJ leadership) 3. The entire country is fragile and we do not need anything that could promote violence. 4. The election could be done over and over, and nothing is promised. 5. Who else is there to be elected as the president?. I truly see your point, but Nigeria is not developed enough to correct this problem, you can go ahead and cancel the election and do it over 500 times; my man, nothing will change. That's just the way it will remain for now. We do not have a system that embraces election accuracy. You keep on analyzing these problems using developed countries mentality; you have to come back to reality and get to truly understand the obstacles that we are facing in Nigeria. Instead of crying and making noise, we should all save our energy/time and start working on an effective strategy to empower our election process and educate the voters. We should also encourage this new administration to spend more money and time on this project, this way we will be prepared for the next election. My man, For many months before the election, I tried everything to wake people up by recommending election process empowerment and educating the voters, but Many refused to see my point, instead they continued to follow "OBJ's stop Atiku project" We have nobody to blame, but ourselves. We are so quick to follow, we are so quick to be brainwashed and we embrace short cut, instead of working together and developing long term solutions to our problem. It is absolutely too late; We must rally around this incredible man and work very hard together to return our nation back on top. My man, Anything else will be uncivilized (many will die, investors will disappear and the whole nation will crumble down to dust) and it may take up to 50 years to recover. Instead of using foreign mentality to make your judgment, please get to understand the real obstacles and the under developed system in Nigeria. For now, somethings just wouldn't work in Nigeria. |
Yes, very impressive; but check out yar'Adua in the gym 2007. You will not be disappointed. |
Absolutely NO Just because people have turned it into a profitable business doesn't mean we should follow them. It is in the book; and we must follow the book. One day these folks will answer to the highest (GOD). Therefore, let's stay focused and judge them not! |
@BUSHFELLOW: You're killing me! Yes, let's us rally around Yar'Adua's administration for the sake of peace; but my friend, how is what is currently going on in Ibadan represents peace? Just because we're willing to support Yar'Adua's administration doesn't mean we should condone or accept stupidity. Make no mistake about it, violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We are civilized incredible people and we must keep a civilized country. Does it make any sense if the nation is doing well economically, but political thugs continue to kill numbers of innocent people every other day just because they feel like it. This is not right and something must be done quick to correct this stupidity. My man, get familiar with the difference between "Rally around and Rally behind" |
Posted by Bankole01: Obasanjo may have outsmarted himself.Excellent point! Do you know the difference between Osama. B and Saddam. H? And do you know why they still can't find Osama and Saddam was discovered within few months? |
I change my mind. Ribadu can come back as the head of the EFCC with a condition "his first project as the EFCC's boss is to probe and investigate OBJ; without this condition", Mr. Ribadu can go back to his village. |
Exactly folks, let us rally around Yar'Adua's administration for the sake of peace, but don't let us rally behind this administration. There is a big difference between the two. If we condone what is going on in Ibadan, that means we are rallying behind this administration. Please, do not let us get things twisted. Akala and his group do not represent peace in any way and we must discover a better strategy to slow things down in Ibadan. Ibadan represents many great things and we can not and will not allow this city to crumble down to dust. I'm sure that this new administration is working very hard to ensure reliable security for the citizens. Just wait and see, folk. Furthermore, I'm more than happy that the gutless IG (Ehindero) will also be leaving shortly. Things will be different and our country will be back on top once again Watch out folks, this is a whole new ball game. |
Now that OBJ will be gone in few days, I hope Nigerians will forgive Ribadu and allow him to show us what he can do. I still think he's a fine Nigerian who has a lot to give our nation, but we must first forgive him for being selective and not doing his job appropriately. I say bring him back, but not to retain the same position. |
Yar'Adua will surprise many many people. Yar'Adua is getting incompressible support from the right group of people. I'm confident and very happy to re-announce that Nigeria is moving forward, things will be much better. Get ready folks, we are heading back to the top. |
The true rise and fall is being witnessed once again. Unbelievable. |
@amgel101: What is the point of all your questions? Are you trying to tell me that you support AKALA? |
MAMAJAMA: You've missed it again. You're not even close. |
OBJ knew what he was doing to select Yar'Adua and lucky. Look, Kalu has no stamina, Atiku has too many stains and questions unanswered and Buhari still walks around with demons from his old ruling administration and it is also clear that he doesn't have what it takes; no disrespect. Yar'Adua on the other hand, seems to be clean, simple, focused and also had a brother Nigerians admired. Mr. Lucky represents new generation, educated, clean record and promotes unity. I think the selection was deliberately selected to disable the big dogs at all levels; which I also thought was a smart move. But OBJ didn't want to take any chance, this was why the mago mago strategy was also introduced at a higher level. |
Posted by Angel101 how do we know that?A leader of a nation doesn't refer to election victory as do or die A leader of a nation doesn't come out and say, "yes, election wasn't perfect, but Yar'Adua won" And finally, his laborious backbreaking endless desperation to stop all his enemies from contesting says it all. |
A big fat ZERO |
@angel101 If police are underpaid, it is the responsibility of the IG to initiate the salary increase proposal and send it through. And this could be done 20 times a year, if it will improve the security of the citizens. But as we know, many leaders in Nigeria don't even understand their jobs description. It's all about ego and get all I can get before the pepper soup runs out. |
@MAMAJAMA: In a developed country, when the police department fails to produce the killer of a prominent state man, the head of the department usually steps down. This is totally opposite in Nigeria; when the police department fails to do their job, the head of this department usually gains weight and gets richer. It's been more than 6 years and this case hasn't been resolved. Ehindero should be ashame of himself and he should step down. |
@angel101 I also blame OBJ for this Yar'Adua mess. Believe me, this man, Yar'Adua would have won the election hands down without OBJ's mago mago magic. Yar'Adua did not need PDP to win the election; infact PDP only contributed to the negative image of Yar'Adua's administration. He's currently under pressure to drop OBJ's boys and I hope he does what is right for the sake of new beginning, new Nigeria. Please, stop comparing the 2 events. It is very degrading to continue to compare a group of thugs to Yar'Adua's administration. It doesn't make any sense |
Definitely the scenario is totally different. Akala is an uninformed individual, an ordinary street thug who is not even qualified to manage a super market. |
Definitely, we must move forward, but at the same time we must discover an effective strategy to disable the thugs, who crave to disable the system and crumble down our nation into dust. |
And the Police Department on the other hand, is being led by another boy scout, who is clueless and has no balls to perform effectively. It is amazing, only in Nigeria. |
Omo Ibadan, kini show? Ibadan, Oyo state happens to be one of my favorite cities in Nigeria and it disturbs me mentally or emotionally to see what is going on in Ibadan today and to know that there will never be peace in this city for at least the next 4 years. It is very sad; because things did not have to go down this way. OBJ had opportunities and power to resolve this calamity by permanently disabling Adedibu and also by sending Akala back to school for his secondary school certificate. But as usual, OBJ has his ridiculous and vindictive ways. He wanted to teach some folks some lessons, therefore he ignored the Lucifer and allowed my favorite city to continue to crumble into a war zone . It doesn't look pleasant out there at-all and it is extremely disheartening to know that this mess will last for many many years to come. I truly feel that OBJ has sold the prosperity and peace of Ibadan people at a cheap price to his personal agenda. |

When contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, was said to be in a meeting. The state governor, Senator Ladoja, said: “The violence that we are talking about is not as bad as the governorship election”. The governor also said that there was nothing illegal in the election, adding that the voters register was obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The governor blamed the police in the state for “the slight problem recorded. “But the fact remains, whether it is an electoral process or boxing, or dancing, they are to protect the citizens of this state,” adding that the Wednesday invasion of the state Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (because), showed “the type of government we will have come May 29. Lawlessness will continue to reign in our country”. http://ngex.com/news/public/newsinfo.php?nid=3846 |
@adconline: What is your point? |
It feels great to see that people are finally coming together, Yar'Adua is getting love from everywhere and it is clear that Nigerians are ready to move forward. I just pray and hope that this new administration will change direction and do what is right by serving the citizens of Nigeria effectively and efficiently. I'll love to see the following to improve: 1. High standard medical accessibility for all 2. Free education for all 3. Infrastructure improvement through out the country 4. Effective strategy to rectify corruption 5. Providing job opportunities. 6. Stabilizing economy and introducing effective strategy to monitor cost of necessity commodities 7. Constant water supply (must be divided into 4 parts and privatized) 8. Constant power supply (must be divided into 4 parts and privatized) 9. Creating business friendly environment for the investors and promoting privatization at a larger scale. 10. Finally, improving our image through out the world. May God bless Nigeria. |
