Oga, where is your driving license? |
Where is Ehindero? He needs to come and congratulate Okiro, may be he will learn one or two things about leadership and effectiveness. |
Ehindero is a common thief; one of those thieves you see on the road side with pirelli tire hanging on their neck. |
@mamajama,Again, absolutely correct. |
am a bit concerned that it's only southerners Nuhu Ribadu is concentrating his efforts. It's bound to have repercussions. We are yet to see the Alhaji's and Alhaja's of northern nigeria tried. The likes of babangida. As a norther Nuhu Ribadu has shown is prejudices against southerners. It is amazing how folks are so quick to throw IBB's name into every situation. Even if it doesn't rain in Anambra, it's IBB's fault. It's time to stay focused and allow folks to defend themselves regardless of where they're from. I did not hear anyone complaining when Ribadu was busy unconstitutionally abusing the VP or when he was probing Marwa and IBB's son. Nigerians will forever cry even if there is honey heavily pouring from the sky. Give me a break and allow the man to defend himself. |
@Iman is that good enough or you have a better replacement for the word? I'm very open, please do not hesitate to bring it on. |
Concur Ibadan= having Ibadan people on your side or being in agreement with Ibadan people. Adedibu made this possible indirectly during the presidential election, |
Give the guy a break. I mean the guy made his money way back before he got into politics@poster: Totally inaccurate! Fact: Most wealthy serious business folks in Nigeria have absolutely no interest or time to be running around worrying about the implementation of electric power, water supply etc. They just don't have the time. These folks are pretty much married to their establishments all over Nigeria/ world. Therefore, anyone that calls himself a very wealthy and at the same time seeking to participate in any political election in Nigeria is absolutely a pure "THIEF". We must also keep in mind that $2m in your bank account doesn't make you a wealthy individual in Nigeria; it only means you're comfortable. And most politicians fall into this category before being elected. These group of people usually become filthy rich after they've maintained a political position for few years. My Point: I wish Ibori a very very good luck, but please do not come here telling me that the cat was already a rich man before he become governor. It is absolutely rubbish and a ridiculous statement to make on this forum. Yes, the man was comfortable, but not outrageously wealthy, the way he seems to be today. |
I believe because Ibadan happens to be the center of Yoruba land. As a politician, if you're able to concur Ibadan, it means you've concurred the entire Yoruba land. This statement is not confirmed, it's just the way I see it. |
if u wish u catch adedibu, just catch obj and the man will be paralysed.I've never looked at it that way, but you're absolutely correct. OBJ used this man to take advantage of Ibadan people; I'm sure that OBJ has no balls to try this mess any where in Ogun State. |
Make no mistake about it, Okiro is a true leader. This position wasn't a gift to him (unlike other IGs); he worked very hard to attain the position and I'm sure that he will not disappoint Nigerians. |
Mamajama has no point there, Adedibu was accused of LIKELY BREACH OF PUBLIC PEACE IN ABUJA, IBADAN, PORT HARCOURT and some other cities in Nigeria, so any court within these places has the jurisdiction to hear the case. The offence is a bailable one, so I can't understand what he meant by throwing the case away. The most important thing is that some one has set the stone rolling, it really required guts to discredit Adedibu's words let alone charging him to court.Absolutely accurate! To add to your statement: The Ehindero I knew just 10 years ago couldn't even afford to re-paint his house in Ondo State. I have the picture of this house 10 years ago. One day and very soon he will be asked to document the strategy he used to accumulate all these houses within a very short period. Fact: The man knew nothing about business till just few years ago. "A police business man" this is his nick name in Abuja. In fact a dedicated IG should never be involved in any side attractions (businesses) during his era as the IG; and I'm sure that this will be addressed when the time is right. I also heard that there are numbers of allegation of shady business surrounding the new police uniform, which he implemented before he left as the IG. He wrote couple of books, but the profit from the book deal is not even close to what this man has stolen from Nigeria. Something tells me that Ehindero's time is not too far. |
It is impossible to vote or not to vote for some who has absolutely no interest in being elected. This is a dead topic. |
Good point - however, it goes without saying that Nigeria's problems have been compounded byDude, simmer down, I was only talking about the leaders in my village. And please say hello to my little friend, Mckren! |
BIGB1 do you know who your father IBB elect appoint as IGP? His name is MUHAMMADU GAMBO a high school cert holder.Leadership is much bigger than college degree and this is one of our problems in Nigeria; a college degree doesn't qualify one to be an effective leader. The most effective leaders can not even spell their own names |
MAMAJAMA,Ehindero can not touch Okiro in any way. This man should have been selected many years ago. Ehindero represents what is wrong in Ibadan. He's fully responsible and should be punished. |
The last time I checked, this topic has absolutely nothing to do with IBB; infact FYI, IBB is fully in support for anything to move this country forward. The damage is done; it's now time to discover an effective method to move this country forward. The man is working vigorously everyday to contribute to the best of his ability. The people that count know this fact. MAMAJAMA: You look pathetic running around with zero material; please, do yourself a favor keep it simple and focus on the topic. |
Dealing with folks like this man (Adedibu), one has to be creative and also systematic. MAMAJAMA: Leadership 101 NYU |
I think Mamajama has a strong point on the issue of arraigning Adedibu in a court in Abuja, that is the fastest way to throw away the case as he stated.Arraigning Adedibu in Abuja was done intentional to prevent further unnecessary killing and properties damaging in Ibadan. It was also done to empower the Ibadan people and send them a message that the man it definitely touchable. Just wait and see the next step. |
@BIGB1 since you think you know so much about police force. you have 5 minutes to respond to this questions or your credibility is shallow for everMAMAJAMA: You're absolutely not in a position to ask Big B1 any question. |
Ask people like me who is OKIRO, I can show you pics of OKIRO, Jonathan THE VP sitting in my balcony with his hands foldMAMAJAMA, This isn't a picture gallery, so you can even go ahead and show me PIC of Okiro and Jonathan, the VP sitting on top of your head; it doesn't matter. The man has shown us that he's a serious leader. So far, he has accomplished all the things that seemed to be impossible when Ehidero (coward) was in-charge. Ehindero ran all over the country with absolutely zero accomplishment while folks like Adedibu continued to terrorize folks in Ibadan. I don't care how you see it, but Okiro's action has slowed down the terror. The fresh air is finally blowing in Ibadan. FYI: What Ehindero wanted to eat also blind-folded the worthless jellyfish |
Okiro was always my pick from day one, and his latest courageous move (arresting Adedibu) also speaks well and indicates what leadership is all about. In just few months, this man has accomplished much more than Ehindero's life time accomplishment. Leadership role is not for everybody! |
Yar’Adua confirms Okiro as IG THE acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro, was on Monday confirmed as the substantive Inspector General effective June 1, 2007. His confirmation was one of the decisions taken at the National Council of State meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Briefing State House correspondents after the meeting, the chairman of the Governors’ Forum and governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, said the confirmation of Mr. Okiro was based on the recommendation of the president. Monday’s meeting was the first since President Umaru Yar’Adua assumed office and was attended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo who handed over to President Yar’Adua on May 29, 2007. The National Council of state is made up of the president, former heads of state/presidents, serving governors, serving chief justice of Nigeria and former chief justices as well as the leadership of the National Assembly. Governor Saraki, alongside the governors of Kano and Bayelsa states, Ibrahim Shekaru and Prieye Sylvia, briefed State House correspondents. According to him, issues discussed ranged from the security challenges in the country, especially in the Niger Delta, to those of feeding of prisoners, armed robbery, among others. The council also approved the conferment of national honours on 204 Nigerians including members of the victorious Golden Eaglets as well as the world heavyweight champion, Samuel Peters. One of the criteria for nomination for the award, according to Saraki, was that at least two members from each state of the federation must also be accommodated in the proposed national honours. According to Saraki, the government rejected the setting up of a military base by the American government in the country but approved the setting up of an African stand-by force. “First of all, council was briefed on the state of the nation, talking about the economy of the country with particular reference to security largely, saying that there are old challenges and new challenges, the issue of armed robbery, the issue of militias in the Niger Delta and other parts of the country. “On the issue of security, the President was mandated to go back to the records and check the report of the two committees that were set up by the immediate past administration on the issues of welfare, equipping the services and the police. He was asked to dust up the report and see the recommendations, especially the report submitted by the retired DIG Danmadami that went around in the process of improving the service of the police and also improve security generally. “Another item we talked about is the issue of prisons. How do we continue to manage the prisons under the present condition? It is clear that funding of it was becoming a bit of the burden to the Federal Government of Nigeria. “The other issue brought was national awards. Council approved provisionally, the number of persons brought forward, about 204. But the provision was given because questions were raised by some states that there were some recommendations that did not come from the states. “So, council directed that within this week, state governors should vet some of the recommendations and ensure they fall in line with the practice which is two recommendation from each state normally recommended by state governments and ensure that those names were part of the recommendations from the state, and make them available to the SGF before the end of the week. “Also brought to our attention for information purposes is that the U-17 team and new World Boxing Champion are among those included in the National Honours list 2007. “Council also urged governors not to politicise the appointment of chief judges and to make sure that the most experienced judge at all times becomes the chief judge. On the election violence in Kano, Governor Shekaru said some politicians who were not ready to accept defeat precipitated the crisis. Monday meeting was attended by former Presidents Shehu Shagari, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, former head of state, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Chief Ernest Shonekan, head of the defunct Interim National Government (ING). http://www.ngex.com/cgi-bin/frame/frameit2.plx?link="http://www.tribune.com.ng" |
My man, don't only pay attention to African economy; there are many other important things that Africa is getting from United States. I'm waiting to hear from you. |
point of correction Big BI, the biggest contributor to african economy is africa-in-diasporaI need you to elaborate this point. I think you're wrong, but I'm also willing to give you a chance to educate me. |
@poster: It is a fairly OK move, but I wouldn't advise anyone to start dancing over this decision. When it comes to situation with united States, it is always difficult for one to predict the outcome accurately. Yes, they look out for themselves (which is absolutely the right way), but they are also known to look out for their friends. Do not let us forget that United States still remains the biggest contributor when it comes to aiding African countries. This latest move is OK, but we must be very careful; the last thing we need is burning down the bridge between us and United States (you must never cut off the hands that you use to wipe your as s after using the toilet). United States are users, but also a generous users. |
I heard that big wigs all around the country (including OBJ) are very concern and find it very difficult to predict who is next. I also heard that Fed is working very carefully, but vigorously investigating Tinunbu (former governor of Lagos State); it's a matter of time, it is said that for sure the man will eat beans. I have come to a conclusion that there is no way the war against corruption could be fought fairly and errorlessly, because too many are too corrupt for too long. Hence, the head owners must hold on firmly to their heads Moreover, this was not the war against corruption that was designed few years ago by OBJ; as the war is now starting to be much bigger than OBJ or EFCC, and it was also confirmed that OBJ is not too comfortable with the way things seem to be turning. I guess, the success of the war against corruption in Nigeria is not up to OBJ or EFCC, but depends on you and I. |
The same king should go ahead and ask Russian president to shut up, and let's see what happens. Nobody is willing to respect these little countries and this is also part of the major problems facing the entire world today. How can we function properly when no other leader could point out that USA is wrong? |
"Why don't you shut up?"The king should be ashame of himself. Regardless of what may be going on, I do not think it's appropriate for any king to ask a president to shut up. It is a total disrespect and should never be acceptable. In my book, the king should apologize for his uncivilized action. |
Total embarrassment, discomfiture, disconnection, numskulled, unfocused, unenlightened, absent-minded, blank cockiness and dumdum. When you exhibit these types of qualities, the end result is always the eruption of folks like Chavez and Ahmedinejad. |
Hugo Chavez and Ahmedinejad have now constituted themselves as the world political stand up comedians nowadays the equivalent of Dave Chappelle or basket mouthIf that is the case, it's fair to say Bush will be the equivalent of Benny Hill. FYI:Hugo Chavez and Ahmedinejad are the result when a narrow minded leader (Bush) is in-charge. |
I am interested in participating in the building of our great country through politics.@poster You can participate effectively in building our great country without joining any political party; infact, today that is the best and sincere method to assist in rebuilding our nation. There are many sensible and effective methods out there, without joining a political party that one could utilize to help in rebuilding our nation. Judging from my experience, joining a political party and helping in building our nation are totally 2 opposite animals. This could change very soon, but for now it isn't the same ball game. There are many categories: We have education, health care, and we also have the newly implemented strategic team, that focuses on moving our nation forward. These groups have absolutely nothing to do with politics. I will advise you to carefully start by learning more about non profit organizations all over the country, discover what you can do to assist these groups (remember that it is not always about money, you can assist in many other ways); this first start could also assist you in breaking through into the political arena. |
