While president GEJ may cut the picture of a dull clueless leader who knows not what he does, believe me..GEJ is aware of whatever he does.all his actions are calculated towards a desired goal. most of what GEJ does he does it for a reason. unfortunately these goals are not necessarily in the interest of all of nigeria. As much as I dislike his antecedents I have to agree, this guy understands how to "survive" politically,he is right too.."alams" was not an ex-convict when he made GEJ his deputy and GEJ is wise enough to know he cannot cannot lord it over the ex "governor general" of bayelsa ex-convict or not..GEJ is all about the politics of continuity,a sustenance of the status quo that benefits the powers that be this is strictly ijaw politics brought to national scene.

You can be sure many Niger delta and indeed ijaw sons have climbed out of poverty under GEJ this is off the record.

For the records i am no GEJ fan, but as much as I loathe the regime and what it stands for I have to admit that GEJ is good at whatever game he is playing.
Any1 who passes this president off as clueless does it at his own peril. He is deviously wise.

Politics / Nigeria's Oil Minister Blames Nigerians For Fuel Scarcity by bigcycs: 7:19pm On Dec 05, 2012
Nigeria has witnessed a
shortage of fuel since June.
Nigerians should stop
complaining about fuel scarcity
and suffer the pains of it
because the scarcity was
caused by their demand for
transparency in the petroleum
sector, the Petroleum Minister,
Diezani Alison-Madueke, has
said.
Mrs. Alison-Madueke, who said
this on Wednesday in Abuja
while addressing journalists,
said the demands by Nigerians
for transparency and
accountability coupled with the
government’s determination to
ensure same was the cause of
the sufferings.
“We cannot eat our cakes and
have it. We cannot keep calling
out for transparency and
accountability and pointing at
corruption if we are not
prepared to bear some of the
hardship that will obviously
come when you are trying to
clean up a sector,” the minister
said.
Mrs. Madueke was, however,
not done with blaming
Nigerians for the fuel scarcity,
she also claimed that the
government has already
reduced the scarcity being
witnessed.
“The verifications were being
done; payments could not be
made by Finance and I think
they have said that severally,
but the verifications have been
done; payments are now being
made and like I said the
queues have actually begun to
go down,” she said.
In Abuja where Mrs. Madueke
claims the scarcity has
reduced and where she is
based as minister, motorists
still spend several hours on
petrol queues which
sometimes are over 200m
long; with many petrol stations
not even selling the product.
Black market operators can be
seen selling the product at
over 100 per cent the
approved price with their
transparent jerry-cans
everywhere in the Nigerian
capital.
The minister however gave
Nigerians some hope as she
said the scarcity should
disappear before the festive
period.
She said already the ministry
had released petroleum
products from its strategic
reserve to reduce shortages.
“We too, on NNPC side we
have pushed out a lot of our
strategic reserve in a bid to
ensure that people are not
overtly put out in terms of fuel
scarcity. And if not for this
recent union issue I think it
would have been completely
alleviated, but I am sure that
over the next few days it will
die down completely.
“We are doing everything we
can on ground to ensure that
this Christmas will be like last
Christmas, as well,” she said.
Mrs. Alison-Madueke attributed
shortages being experienced in
almost all parts of the country
to stringent measures being
taken by the Federal Ministry
of Finance in the payment of
subsidy claims.
She assured that only genuine
subsidy claims by marketers
would be entertained in line
with the transparency and
accountability policy of the
government.
“Initially, the queues came out
of the whole fuel subsidy issue
and the fact of course that
verifications of certain
amounts and certain
marketers’ claims were being
made very stringently and this
had to be done.
The minister also assured that
the NNPC would continue to
ensure a level playing field for
all interested marketers and
operators in the oil and gas
sector of the economy.

Demdem:

Nobody is saying the church is poor. Infact its a good thing for the church to be wealthy. However I believe we have misplaced our priorities. Churches now tend to be business minded than fulfilling the needs of the people within their capability.
Let's take oyedepo 4jets for instance. Don't u think the yearly amount that will be used to maintain, run and facilitates those jets in millions of dollars can be used to subsidize covenant university school fees which even the vast majority of his members can't afford to send their kids.

When the missionaries came, they came with schools, hospitals etc that were affordable and at times free. What will we say is our legacy now? Outdoing ourselves in acquiring vanities in the midst of abject poverty.
It's a shame.

Thank you demdem...one of the few NLnders I respect

I mean how really so easy must it be to govern nigeria.. Please ask GEJ to teach you governance 101..

The sun don't rise from the east 2day..o well let's set up a committee shall we

There's 10pair of shoes in GEJs wardrobe instead of 12 . Darmmit set up a commitee to find out wat happend to 2 pairs.

Ders like 10 dozen commitees for a myriad of issues and another 10 dozen sub committees..all churning out papers upon papers upon papers and if we are not careful GEJ might get missing underneath all that ton of paperwork.

Makes one really appreciate the importance of elections.
Religion / Re: RCCG Covenant Partnership - Scam Of All Scams? by bigcycs: 8:39am On Oct 16, 2012
Deyhmee: Smh.... Did he force anybody to pay?!! Most of you didn't see the N500 category there oo. The money isn't going into daddy's account, the money is used for missionaries, creating new churches, organising services in camp, etc. If you know any well p.pastor in rccg ask him how things are bin done rather than saying trash

Your pastor told you guyz that God(the real almighty God) told him that his "hand was tied" that in 10yrs of said partnership some participants where supposed to die but because they where in partnership he had to let them live(in other words God was "bribed" into sparing the lives of partnership members) and that this year he should only do it 4 3yrs that's what ur pastor told a congregation of learned men and women.finally there will always be weak christians in desperate search 4 "salvation/prosperity" hence they continue to get hoodwinked by all these manipulative tendencies of the so called "daddy and mummy"

Salvation is eventually a personal battle..I believe the work of the church must be supported by members financially and otherwise but when a GO goes as far as designing a special scheme meant to take funds from all members rich and poor..and deploys manipulative prowess to his ever hoodwinked congregation..telling them he asked God. So members can decide to sighnup to the partnership to escape death right? I mean that's the implication. he doesn't have to force anyone.just deployed the relevant coercive technique and folks like you are already bought .

All of a sudden this forum seems a lil too dark on my phone.. There must be a couple ghanaians up in here...

@topic views and counter views are been bandied back and forth.I don't see how it will hurt jonathan to appeal based on the fresh facts available.
Bakassi is still listed as a LGA in cross river..still draws monthly subvention from the CRS government, they even have a senator Mrs ita giwa ,their votes constitute part of the votes that sent GEJ into power. No responsible government will allow some crack head ICJ rulling subject its people to untold hardship especially when it hadn't exhausted all options for solutions available to it

staaari: How much are you guys ready to sell a gallon?

Just as my ad stated..I am very much aware there are industries that buy palm oil @ N10,000 per gallon.. So am basicly hoping to clinch such a deal..however u can propose to me a price that features ur interest. And we can negotiate from there.
Adverts / Sale Of Palm Oil To Manufacturing Industries In Abj,kano Etc by bigcycs: 1:06pm On Sep 10, 2012
Pls MODS put this on front page for me please as its very vital to our business success..

We produce palm oil in large quantities in cross river and we are looking to establish market with industries that attach high value to palm oil.

There is a current monopoly instituted by northerners in the local market here in calabar..this monopoly has placed farmers/producers of oil palm at a terrible disadvantage as they fix very low prices(N3000 per gallon currently) favourable to their primary business (resupplying stock to industries @ N10000 per gallon) thereby deriving extreme profits while leaving the farmer who has to go into the bush to produce the palm oil at a major disadvantage.

As a result of this we have stopped selling to the hausa's pending when we can establish contact with industries that will buy palm oil for its true value.

If anyone is working with or has direct contacts with this industries ,he should reach me asap as we have stocked up a lot of palm oil in gallons ready
for dispatch.
