Culture / Re: Ashamed Of Being African/ Black - Someone Help Me Overcome My Complex! by bigfrancis021: 6:23pm On Aug 08, 2014 |
BigBashiru: have lived in europe and north america for over twenty five years...i feel so down and hopeless... on my way to work i read of a boat load of africans trying to enter Italy or the Port of Spain almost every month. The thought process you have are thoughts that hit every black man living in a multi-racial environment. You need to learn to overlook all those things and despite all the ills learn to love yourself for who you are because you were created for a purpose. Remember, God makes no mistakes in what he does and there's a reason for your creation. One thing black people have is compassion, kindness, spirituality looking out for each other, mercy, faith, hope, belief in God and the afterlife, communal living - basic human qualities that make life worth living, lacking in advanced countries characterized by individualism, selfishness, backstabbing, and self-gratification. Ever wondered why natural disasters are rife in advanced countries than in Africa? Life isn't measured by the yardstick of technology or development. Life is measured by the little but mighty things that matter in life - qualities of love and human relationships. When life is over, the quality of life you lived is measured by how much love you gave away and not by technological advances you made nor the number of academic degrees you obtained. All of which Jesus described himself as vanity. Little wonder Jesus himself wasn't born in so-called advanced countries, neither was he white himself(the greatest lie ever told to humanity) and with biblical evidence that suggests he was Negroid - having hair like a wool and skin color like bronze. We all know that Negroids have wooly hair and Caucasoids wavy hair and the color of bronze is brown, not white or pink. When Joseph was told to take Jesus to faraway Egypt in Africa (not surrounding countries of Lebanon, Arabia, Jordan with white people) to hide in the midst of his fellow people from Pharaoh, why do you think that was so? Does one go to hide where the people there are entirely different from him? If hiding from someone, common sense will tell you to hide in the midst of people who look exactly like you to make you difficult to be found. The bible mentioned that the people of Israel at the time of Jesus and also in Egypt were idol worshippers. Which race has been historically known to carve graven images for themselves and bow down to them? Ancient whites were cavemen, living in caves, battling extreme cold weathers, sitting around fires and striking fires with stones ie the Eskimos, Inuit etc. During the time of Moses in Egypt in Africa, one issue he constantly battled was the idol worship of the people. Over 2000 years ago, and during the time of Jesus native Egyptians were recorded to be black(Kemet) with many books written in that time that say so, until the recent arabic invasion of North Africa. And seeing that it takes only 3 generations to turn a black person to white person, remaining unchased black locals were intermarried with to produce light-skinned first generations who further were intermarried with to produce more lighter second-generation light-skinned individuals until the 4th generation where all traces of black presence were wiped out completely. A phenomenon called 'breeding out the color'. The same policy similarly perpetrated against the aboriginal blacks of Australia to have all surviving black australians 'mixed' with white blood continually each generation to produce light-skinned generations until they become purely white. Similar phenomena which we still observe today. You wouldn't believe that 'white' Michael Scofield from Prison break has a dark-skinned grandfather or Mariah Carey, only a first-generation interracial progeny, who easily passes as white has a black father. She married a light-skinned interracial man to produce white-looking progeny. In our world today where we are taught abhorrence of anything black, her children will grow up tomorrow to deny being black and claim white instead. Not also forgetting the massive edits that were made to the bible by the early church fathers to suit themselves. Ever wondered why the bible is silent on Jesus' race or his sexuality? Don't you think references leading to his race or his sexuality might have been purposely removed so as to not conflict with what the early church fathers wanted him to be? I don't identify as christian but I believe in Jesus and his mission on earth, which actually differs from what modern day christianity lies to us. There's a greater meaning to Jesus' statement, 'the stone which the builders rejected will turn around to become the head corner stone'. There's a purpose of every creation. Learn to be proud of yourself and your skin color. There are some things on earth beyond the understanding of the mind/brain of mortal man that are much better understood when life is over. The satisfaction and value in life lie not in academic success nor technological advancements - fleeting things of the world, but rather in the way you treat your fellow human beings. If there was to be a place in the afterlife for people known to have committed the most evil of inhuman acts to another human, it would be full of Caucasoids, especially of ancient times till now and very few Negroids. Slavery, racism, sexism, discrimination, holocaust, land-grabbing etc. whatever evil you can think of you name it, were all started by them and recorded in the history of Caucasians. |

AnOlderAmerican: Earlier one of the posters who turned my gut inquired as to just who my words were directed, well to those educated buffoons who in their abomination of all things Igbo are now accusing Igbos of trying to rewrite the history of the slave trade and forge DNA as if to claim an IGBO monopoly on Slaves in the New World! What's next envious animals g? Did an IGBO assasinate JFK? 9/11, THE WORK OF AN IGBO? WAS JACK THE RIPPER AN IGBO TOO? DID AN IGBO EAT LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD'S GRANDMA? SOMEONE FARTED, BLAME THAT IGBO! Get a life Igbo haters! Oh and before you go there, I am an Igbo lover and I have a good life in the USA that allows me to discover the world objectively. @Bold...thanks! That bold part won't go down well with some people here o. Like I said before, its only those who haven't met the Igbos before that will give in to the rife anti-Igbo sentiments on this thread. Notice that the Igbos here aren't exchanging words/curses with anybody here yet curses and being thrown at us. You'll ask yourself, what have we done that warrants all these? My brother, please note that the pictures posted here about Igboland are false. People just pick up pictures from anywhere and tag them as Igboland. I would have posted a thread here for you to visit if you want to see the beauty of Igboland but on a second thought I held back because some evil-minded person on this thread would go there and spoil the thread with his neurosis. I'll post the link on your FB message inbox. There's a place close to Aba, in the same Abia state where your nieces got fiancés from, called Abiriba. The place is quite beautiful and because of it, it was nicknamed 'Small London'. Lol. Enugu is another beautiful state in Igboland. Then talk about Owerri, Asaba, Awka, Port Harcourt, et cetera. 2 Likes |

unmask: there is a thread on what it really takes to be a man....and one of the requirements is being yourself when everybody wants something else......kudos to you man..... Exactly. Nigerians still find it difficult to look at life from that angle. The pervasive culture is one of conformity. You must conform whether you like it or not. And its stifling to so many. |

samnoah: First time on the thread. Got introduced by foohard; a great friend.I'm enjoying these coments cos they are insighting. Its great that we can have people volunteer to share this great amount of info here. Have got two admissions in US earlier for master's but never went for visa interview cos the schools didn't offer me any form of tuition reduction. Already completed a master's degree here in naija just recently and looking forward to putting in for phd in the US. Hope to get valuable supports from here. Welcome to the House, SamNoah. Your life shall never be the same again. |

Its still above the 3.0 bench mark for most good universities in the US. As for paying for WES using your mastercard, yes you can. Kunlebal just paid for his WES translation using his GTB ATM card on monday. Email a faculty member at UH to see what chances you stand. Your scores and GPA could get you what you want but only if you apply to less competitive schools or less-than-average schools. |

biafranqueen: No, I don't have any favourite author. 6 years ago my inner spirit was restless and desperate to fill up my knowledge base which I had forgotten a lot while growing up (no thanks to the memory veil). I knew deep within me that what the church preached and the prevalent belief system were mostly false. My soul just knew. Hence, I sought the real truth. And I started searching for knowledge which I had forgotten. Over the years I've come across a couple of websites that carry the sincere truth of spiritual knowledge of which I've announced them previously in one of my posts. I also don't have a blog, or website but I like that idea. I've thought about publishing a book, a well-detailed book about the afterlife, life on earth, love, reincarnation, pre-destination vs freewill, human sexuality, male/female energy balancing, human auras, why certain things happen on earth, why people are born into certain circumstances, karma etc. The book is really going to be detailed. Karma is the law of cause and effect, give and take. Its a spiritual law of justice that ensures that 'good' and 'bad' are balanced. |

biafranqueen: Yes it was me check out this link. Your right I am a mature soul / priest That's good. You're evolving. So is everybody else. You'll need to focus on your life purpose as indicated to you in your NDE to evolve further. Spiritual growth all depends on an individual. Some individuals, though a few hundreds of them, evolve so quickly in just one life time that they jump from say, young soul stage to late mature stage. Some remain on a particular stage in so many lifetimes until they get it right and move on again. This s because during each lifetime opportunity for spiritual evolution, they fail to look inwards to determine their life mission and live by it in order to achieve it. Rather they get carried away by worldly attractions, thus skipping their life mission for that life and wasting the opportunity. This they repeat in several lifetimes until they finally get it right and move on. Never deviate from your life plan. I still remember what my life purpose is (I never forgot my pre-birth experience and life selection process) and I've been living my life ever since doing just that. Your life mission of caring for and helping widows shouldn't be neglected. Keep doing it, and most importantly with love and compassion in your heart, not because you were ordered to do it. Each time you're helping somebody, do it because your heart was touched, you felt compassion and you WANT to do it. Not because you were ASKED to do it. The intentions of the heart matter and are what are used to differentiate true workers of good deeds and those that perform good acts for public fame, the name, to feel good, to be seen as a good person by those around them, etc. Also extend your kindness to anyone around you who is in need of help. |

Religion / Re: Amazing Accounts Of Near-death Experiences by bigfrancis021: 6:36pm On Jul 12, 2013 |
Rossikk: What I explained in details was the human aura, the different colours and their interpretations. Each of these colours exist round every human being. Every living individual has an aura which could be predominantly one colour or a combination of colours. When angels, spirit guides and unborn souls look down on a human being, they see the particular aura color of the individual very easily and this colour is what they use to determine/evaluate one's spiritual level and what extra work, if any, that needs to be done to improve. One's current spiritual level corresponds to his aura colour. Pick up any book on auras or google 'auras' on google, thousands of websites abound that explain the human aura. |

Tshift.: Please, your interview location on your DS-160 must tally with the interview location on your visa page. That is what the law says. Since you booked for abuja, fill out another ds-160 form bearing Abuja as interview post, copy out the new ds application ID, go back to your visa appointment account and update the new application ID using the 'update button'. 1 Like |

Visit your visa booking page, use the update button and update your new passport number. Then also fill out a new DS-160 form bearing the new passport number and submit. Copy out the code and update on the visa booking page the same time you'll be updating your new passport number. |

eedrism: Amem Amen amen no denials for any of us Your admission letter of last year and your new I-20 are good to go. However, going with a SAT/TOEFL waiver letter covering your not writing any standardized test will NOT suffice at the embassy. As you did not write any, you'll have to come up with a very cogent reason for not writing any test. The usual my-school-waived-it-for-me alibi will fail to work for you at the interview. Instead say that, 'my SS3 subjects in my high-school transcripts and my SSCE were evaluated and because of my excellent performance in them since SS3 subjects are the core subjects, my department waived the SAT for me'. Finally, remember, articulate and post your two previous interview experiences for the house to review. 1 Like |
