my bad creative didnt infact create the click wheel but they "owns the patent on the interface that Apple used to such good effect - only Apple slapped a nifty wheel on the front of its device and the rest, as they say, is history" from http://www.trustedreviews.com/multimedia/review/2006/02/02/Creative-Zen-Vision-M/p1 .but creative did introduced the world's first hard drive-based music player. from http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/11/01/review_creative_zen_touch/ , my point is this when dog bite man nobody go talk but when man bite dog everybody go halla, there are many innovations that linux got from MS but nobody will see that, i have a good Anti virus/wire wall system.and with vista security . i know am secured even when i was using xp never had a problem.am not saying that MS is more secured then linux cus that is not the question of the topic. am just saying that on overall os performance Windows out classes Linux.security is just 1 aspect of an os there is usability MS WINS (1-0)i.e,available of 3rd party programmes MS wins (2-0) ,user friendliness MS wins (3-0),multimedia capabilities MS wins (4-0),stability ok maybe linux but vista is very stable (4-1),security linux wins (4-2) final score 4-2.not a massacre but then MS OS is a clear winner.and 70% pc users agree u find many people who use linux with an MS backup system.but Majority of MS os users don't feel the need to have Linux.me 4 one i have never thought of it before.may be linux appeals to geeks because their ,, geeks but most mainstream pc users are not geeks.and they use ms.imaging a world without MS, don't even think about it cus God wont let it happen.Amen

well i guess maybe u system has got a virus,in any case what anti virus do u use, i would suggest u download and install nod32 of kaspersky internet security the latest version.

the more u tell me about this the more it is beginning to seem to be a virus or spy ware possibly a virus i dont know what anti virus u use.but uif u are online i would recommend nod32.kaspersky internet security.if u are on line i would suggest u update them.

No idea is original e.g creative invented the click wheel on a music player.but apple ipod mastered it and are the king of portable music player.nothing is fool proof.and no OS cant be hacked.the idea of hacking is either for self hype,fraud,or to cause destruction.so most hackers go where there can get maximum effect.like where 70% of pc users live.if windows was a sitting duck.and control just 10% of pc market then nobody would even bother scrutinizing it to get those obvious flaws.

why don't u try creating another user account, about it being a malware/spy ware there is a way windows would inform u that ur system has been effected with a spy ware, if the problem still occurs on the new account then , just try creating a new account first

I don't know what anybody wants to say o but for me vista is the best OS out there.that is what am currently using.and from day one i just can't imagine using anything else, yeah its got some issues with compatibility with some 3rd party applications.but u can't blame MS for that most of this 3rd party apps developers aren't yet used to the new security regime in vista.but with time everything would be streamlined.Vista is the Future and has many features the most computer makers haven't created hard ware for.but for now its still a hardware consuming OS.You need nothing less than 1gb of ram,128 graphic memory,60gb sata drive.etc am not surprised that it didn't work well on a p4 laptop those are meant for xp.but on a good system anyday.vista works like magic, Concerning security.vista is way way better secured than xp but i feel its just a matter of time before hackers get round those security measures . the fact is that most hackers prefer hacking Window becus with 70% of pc users running it u get Maximum effect.the question is why do those 70% stick with windows?, don't answer that

@ hustla i would strongly not recommend installing vista on a P2 laptop.however most of the designs u saw on my desktop did not come from vista.and the one that came with vista there are 3rd party applications that can do the same on xp.like google desktop which comes with its own sidebar.and the wallpaper came from a collection i download


@ Jwhizzy u need to tell me what u were doing before this happened i already replied ur post on the possible cause and solution

guess what happened was u forcefully shut down ur system, these ususally happen esp when d system froze after u embarked on a memory or processor intensive task, if u are using object dock or any dock in particular disabling it might help, otherwise u have to create a new administrator account.moving all files in the old account to the new one.i no be computer guru but the small that i know from experience that was what i did and the problem was solved

Let me start with a list of applications that currently not compatible with vista
1.Divx Player .This application and its codec causes serious problems with vista, and time u open a folder that has avi video files u see an error message called COM SUROGATE ERROR.closing this error message can cause make windows explorer to become unstable, But that is not bad compared to what will happen if u decide to unistall divx.dont even try it cus doing that would just take out ur CD ROM drive, i.e when u go to my compters u wont see the CD/DVD drive anymore, it happened to me and a friend and i had to format my system cus even system restore wont work.the solution if u are experiencing this problem is to go to divx site and download the latest dvix codec.some says that it would resolve the issue i dont know .but please DONT UNINSTALL DVIX.IF U USE VISTA AND U HAVE IT IN UR SYSTEM JUST LEAVE IT THERE AND DISABLE thumbnail FOR VIDEOS THAT SHOULD RESOLVE THE COM SURROGATE ISSUE.IF UV GOT PROBLEM WITH U VISTA U CAN GIVE ME A CALL 08022982697.I WOULD BE GLAD TO HELP

I found out that there was no topic in nairaland dedicated to window vista, and many of the bugs and issues that comes with.hence these topic is for those with vista problems,or those who need advise on applications compatibility issues with vista.or what to use and not to use with vista, IN other words all your vista questions and problems should be pasted here.so that people who have the solutions can help out.

THEIR VERY GOOD, I WOULD RECOMMEND NOD32 FOR XP USER AND KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY FOR VISTA CUS NOD32 HAS KNOWN ISSUES WITH VISTA.

OK Lets not call it Naija Hiphop lets call it 9ja hiphop, on a serious note why i feel that maybe Naija hiphop might sound more uniq in another name like AFROPOP which is what i call my Playlist of Nigerian Urban Music, however i feel that Nigeria Hiphop has its own uniq style.quite different from mainstream hiphop.and most importantly it gets its contents from the street of Nigeria,hence creating a uniq nigerian youth culture, which is what a good music is all about, about it not being original, what i will say is that if nigerian hiphop is not original then,afrobeat,R&B,highlife are all not original,because all these music genre take their inspiration from one source of music,,for example highlife is westafrican interpretation of JAZZ,AFROBEAT came from Highlife,Soul from Slave Music,R&B,from soul , Dance hall from regae,gala from dance hall, while fuji and juju might be Nigeria's World music does not mean that every muscian in Nigeria should be a juju singer,Every country has got their own traditional and urban music music, finally the name might not be original but the content is very original, and its better that way than the other way round
