Hey guys, anyone knows if gtbank still processes naira master card for transactions? I ask because the last time I tried to buy something via PayPal I was told they have stopped PayPal transactions. Has this been extended to all online transactions?

If gt still processes transactions at what rate? If anyone made transactions in the last couple of days how much did gtb charge on a dollar. Thanks

Please i need urgent info... Is there anybody that recently bought phone from Aliexpress using DHL like May till date?... If yes, how long did it take you to get it?... Also how much is the custom charge that came with it?

My took about 19 days too, the biggest hold up was having the item transfer from china mainline to hong-kong. Most sellers using Hong kong DHL services because it is cheaper. Hence an item would have to be sent there from the mainline. My device (oneplus 7t) took a whole 15 days to get to hong kong and get picked up by DHL. Between pick and getting to Nigeria it took about 3 days and 2 days with dhl. Fortunately I did not get any duty imposed. I was lucky.

In other news, just got off the phone with DHL and was told customs did not attach any duty to my package so I won't be paying anything. The item is expected to be delivered to me today. The item was ordered on the 12th of May, shipped 4 days later on the 16th of May via DHL. Rona caused some delay in the package getting to Hong Kong DHL - eventually got picked up by on the 30th of May and I am getting it today. Putting this out thee in case someone is intending on shipping stuff this season.

The seller of this product has been outstanding, the guy barely sleep, he responses to every message within 1 hour at any time of the day. He was very professional and sent me the picture of my package before he shipped so I know he was not bluffing. I wish more aliexpress seller were like him. The good thing here is, the seller bares the loss, I am still hopeful that this issue would be sorted, package can not just miss like that, although it does happen. The downside is, if the item was under declared, the insurance compensation would be based on the declared value :-/ .. Hopefully seller bares the loss, as far as you are concerned, u did not receive your item, you don't know what happened.

lol! I'm very sure, if not they would have contacted me but they didn't.
The package even showed 'with delivery courier' which is its last course before they realized it was in a wrong location. They cannot attempt delivery of a billed package without contacting the owner. My friend's own didn't leave Lagos facility before he was contacted and he must pay before they can proceed with delivery

Kingz.leyz situation was like that, and he didn't pay a dime

My story still long sha, my dhl status now na "clearance event" that was since yesterday evening. I called DHL them say ndlea they inspect am LOL.. I got get more update today sha.

I ordered the oneplus 7t. My phone screen got damaged and figure might of well get a new device. Interestingly while waiting thinking it would take time, I went and got the pixel 3 xl in Nigeria.. Now it seems the 7t will be entering my hand today.. Might have to sell it cause Pixel 3 is such a joy to use.

The weakest link in any organisation is staff. Na one person go drop the ball in a long chain of event. Anyway sha patient, it has come this far. BTW how are you sure you were not charged since you have not received the item.

I should be receiving my item tomorrow. It landed in Lagos and crossed all processing and should be up for delivery tomorrow. I might also know if I would be getting the dreaded custom tax. My logistic path aligns well with kingzleyz so hopefully I escape as he did.

So my friend said your appeal should go through the logistic company u used since it is them and custom that have a relationship. Custom technically don't know you. So send your appeal to them. State your case, let them know the item was not available in Nigeria which was why you shipped from abroad and it is for personal use. State the purchase price and maybe send a link of the price online. Like I said it might take time to review.

if it's not cleared after 7days, it will enter DHL demorage mode (#43/1kg per day)
And if it reaches 28 days without clearance, DHL will finally hand it over to customs

You can apply for a review. This is what most Nigerians don't know. You can apply for a review posting the order page and how much the phone cost including shipping also stating it is for personal use. You can post the real standard global price of the device. Custom duty for phones is 10% of the phone price and cost of shipping basically 10 percent of what u paid aliexpress for the phone. They then charge 7% of the Duty price as VAT. So if you got the device for 100 dollars (cost and shipping) your duty should be 10 dollars + 0.7c (VAT being 7% of 10 dollars)
The above is what is stated in the CET document for customs which is used for duty. So you do have ground for a review. It would just take time which is why most people don't explore that option.

Me I Don ready them sha. I had to get another device while waiting so I am in no hurry at all.. If they send me some ridiculous price na sharply I go appeal for review putting all my reasons.

My package done commit from Hong Kong in its way to Germany I should think. ETA is 8. I been dey feel say I fit get am this Friday. Its takes a day to ship from Germany to lag and another to clear custom. Thursday UPS office and Friday for delivery.. A man can dream

This is why I always advise, before you buy any item talk to the seller and specifically ask if item is in store.

I reached out to him when i paid after which he told me he doesn't have the items and he's awaiting supply from the factory, something he didn't tell me before I paid. Cancel the other and select "store out of stock" or something like that. Then use the chat to speak to an aliexpress rep. Tell them what happened how you ordered only to be told the item is not available in stock. You will be asked to upload the screenshot of the chat. Do that and the case would be avoided to you. I had a similar problem on Ali and not only was I awarded, I was given a 17 dollar coupon for the inconvenience. To use the aliexpress chat you have to get pass the bot auto response and select chat with an agent.

Will have to verify from a friend that works with DHL cause I know from transactions on Amazon, NCS fee is added during payment with an indication of it been refunded if am not charged which has never happened

The above is from a close friend who is with the legal and compliance of one of the big international logistics companies. Idk about amazon shipping. Let us know what you find out from your friend.

Sometimes they don't. DHL and FedEx have a bond with Customs that runs to millions of naira. When an item is shipped with DHL and has a custom duty, custom deduct the duty from the DHL bond hence allowing the items to continue on without delay. The update / held by customs you get is them accessing and evaluating the items for determination of duty.

This is why you pay to DHL account not to custom account because DHL has already paid the duty to customs.

aahh u are on track then, ETA for DHL from HK to Nig is 15-45 days so you are within scope.

I made payment on AliExpress with my Sterling Visa card last year November 2019.

The transaction failed but I was debited.

Later, my money was refunded.

After 5months, I received a debit alert on the same refunded money from the bank that AliExpress had taken the money.

Just imagine this!

I am just confuse.

Complained to the bank yet they said AliExpress took the money.

What should I do please?

Take it up with the aliexpress customer care, u can use the chat bot at the bottom right of your screen and select chat with an agent.

congratulations .. how long did it take? and what is the update saying now? I think you can now start counting down.. in the next 7-8 days your item go land. If it lands in 7 days time I guess one can say your item took about 3 weeks ... from the day DHL receieved information and about a month since you bought the item.
