Mourinho is right, Larpota is either daft or mad, cos how do you buy Ibrah for €50m, not to talk of throwing in eto'o as well. I dont see anything wrong in eto'o demanding top dollar, after all he has consistently delivered for them on the pitch, but the idiots will only take care of their catalan boyz, while they use and dump everyone else. I was expecting them to add another quality attacker to cover up for henry and messi given their injury problems. Only for them to trade two players for one. Well will only make things easier for us. Morrati must be laughing his head off, for getting such a deal. |
Naturez:If you saw SAF in Lagos, you are limited to three choices - you were drunk - you were high - or simply insane of all three I think the first is your best option but if you refuse to accept being drunk, they might come bundle you off to yaba left ![]() |

Official: Sunderland Sign Lorik Cana From Marseille Sunderland have today confirmed that they have signed Albanian midfielder Lorik Cana from French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique de Marseille. The player has signed a four-year deal, with the transfer worth £5 million. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce was pleased to have secured the defensive midfielder's services, telling the club's official website, "I'm delighted to have brought Lorik to the club, especially given the number of clubs who had expressed an interest in signing him. "He brings with him a tremendous amount of experience both at club level and internationally and is a great addition to our squad. "To captain a side of Marseille's stature says a lot about the player and his character, and I'm sure he'll go on to be a fantastic signing for Sunderland." The 25-year-old began his professional career with FC Lausanne in Switzerland, before moving to Paris Saint-Germain. He then joined Marseille in August 2005, where he skippered the club to a second placed finish in the league last season. tkb417:ManU have conceded 4 goals in 3 matches Source of errors 1st - Evra and partially Van der saar for being far off his line 2nd - foster 3rd - Evra 4th - Evra Summary: Problem is Evra who seems to have his mind elsewhere. If Rooney doesnt become a WPOY top three after this season, the guy should move to another club (preferably madrid ). The guy has so much potential and such a high footballing IQ that am disappointed he was in the shadows of CR. I have always suspected that SAF had a soft spot and preference for CR as compared to Rooney, particularly after the world cup incident and his numerous whinning about wanting to leave. I never knew SAF could take that from any player. |
ogazi007:defend UCL? not even in your wildest dreams. The best you can hope for is a finals appearance. Nobody can defend the modern day UCL. Never been done, and wont be for years to come. |
bgees:dont worry, soon the chicken will come home to roost. |
Another sad day for justice. Its a shame that Gerrard star status takes him above the law. ![]() |
tkb417:I didnt say ManU will never win again, just not in the next 3yrs. I gave you evidence of other clubs that have been on top in the past, yet you say it has no 'footie backing'. As to a few of your earlier comments: ManU was listed on the stock exchange prior to the Glazer's acquisition, and the financial year for ManU ends in June But then, your argument is premised on ManU being a great club, and not of the details of their finances. That essentially brings us to square one - are you talking out of pure fanbosim? Whichever, it is a moot point, as you are convinced of the health of your club, while I see it otherwise. As to predicting gloom in EPL, of the big four, ManU and Liverpool (don't know if they successful with their refinancing) seem to be in the worst situation, while Arsenal are steadily chipping away at it and have done well on their tight budget. While Chelsea have the largest debt on paper, they are more or less at the least risk cos the debt are mainly soft loans from Roman. The other clubs have banks on thier backs. Yet anyone is free to see things otherwise. Like I said, I would rather not turn this into a finance thread, so I will simply admit that I am a fanboi who is clueless about the facts ![]() |
Believe whatever you may as I already told you I didnt want to derail the thread We will all be watching events unfold in the coming years. Lets see if you will win another UCL or sell another 80m player. ![]() |
RuuDie:Why do you think the debt grew without them taking on new loans? The unpaid interests were added to the capital. |

The idea is to always use the questions as an opportunity to describe your strength and show how you will be more useful for your prospective employer. I would suggest something along the lines that you feel you are capable of being more productive if given the opportunity but that your current job doesn't seem to afford you that chance, and that the new job would do so. Then you could possibly back it up with an example, e.g. of possibly something you did which was outside your responsibility and the fact that you have not been able to expand such skills. While I advise you against lying, please resist the urge to provide unwarranted answers at interviews. Your interviewer is trying to evaluate why it would be a good decision to hire you, and thus all your responses should be aimed solely at that objective and nothing else. Any answer that you provide that thus not go towards you being the ideal candidate is a wasted response in the least, and possibly shooting urself in the foot at the worst. Put yourself in the interviewers shoes and give him the answers he wants to hear. |
debosky:Forget about the firesale. Worst case is those players going out on loan. Another player, Parejo, is out on is way to getafe, with the usual buy back clause. Deal should be finalised on friday. |
debosky:A lot of the sales are being held up by the coach, who is still evaluating the players (he just had like 2 wks with the team). For example, one of RVN and Negredo is likely to stay, but there is no confirmation yet on the expected productivity from RVN. Metz is no longer for sale, while Robben seems to have joined the list after the coach requested for Granero. Drenthe is trying to make a case for a position at LB etc. The only confirmed player leaving is huntelaar, others are free to leave but may end up staying depending on who comes in. By the peace cup there should be a more definite list of exit bound players. Unfortunately for you, all will be outside your price range ![]() |
debosky:If you are waiting for a fire sale at Madrid, forget it. Most of the players would be gone by the end of the month. and anyways we dont deal with ijebu clubs ![]() |
Ibime:Nobody is trying to wriggle out of anything. He was found guilty of several wrong doings, including rigging the assembly vote to hide irregularities in the budget and him and mijatovic were accused of taking cuts on player transfers. Unless madrid prosecute him, no one else will and obviously they feel it is an internal matter. Most were appeased when he stepped down as president, or why did you think he left office? You can read more details of perez first stint at http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_26/b3939423.htm before you jumping to conclusions. Madrid is far from financial risk as you deem. The loans are essentially for short term liquidity. Anyone with an iota of business acumen would realize that. |
Ibime:example http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/2175/la-liga/2009/06/28/1352112/ramon-calderon-paid-4m-commission-in-lassana-diarra-deal Unfortunately madrid wont wash their linens in public. |
debosky:and 3 of theirs made the last one, while none of your made it last season - that is the fabulous difference ![]() |
debosky:We have sold Saviola (€5M) and Garcia (€7M) . Also on their way out is Negredo (likely at €20M to spurs, but he wants to stay in spain), Huntelaar(€20M), Drenthe, Van der Vaart, Ruud (possibly monaco), Heinze (marseille), and Robben. The club debt as at the end of last season was €125m from €200m the last year with a pre tax profit of €58m. Enough room to accommodate the debt in question. |
Ibime:So madrid is now worth less than they were before perez took over the first time? or is Valdebas poorer than the old facilities? Perez left madrid in good financial health, but calderon and mijatovic squandered and embezzeled the money, doctoring the books to cover it up. Or you never wondered why we had so many dutch players on our roster, each bought at overpriced figures and (outside of Robnho) sold our players cheaply. The idiots even let beckham go for free. Or did you think CR was bought by Perez? The pre-agreement for the 80M was signed by Calderon, and madrid had to honor it or pay 30M. You should stick to your russian club and not make uninformed statements about madrid. You can question the success of perez's formula on the pitch, but he has always gotten it right in the cash department. |
