Charity begins at home! If you are not good to your people, then you don't have moral right to criticize any wrong done to them (your people/compatriots) by alien. As a son of the soil, Jonathan ought to have done better to Niger Delta Region. |
Nonsense! I want to ask of her contributions towards her constituents and constituency she represents? I will not be surprised if her constituency lacks basic amenities such as Road, Clinic etc. |
Oshi, Oriburuku and Agbako of the highest order. May God forbid bad thing. That's not only barbaric but disgusting. |

I was eating and enjoying my soft drink this morning @7:45 in a Restaurant; A man entered the restaurant with a brief case. I guess he is a big politician because his dressing and pot belly portrays it. He walked and sat down as everybody looked at him. Suddenly a woman came to him and started crying. The woman knelt down and told him that her children and her wan die of hunger since her husband died. This man opened the brief case and gave this woman five hundred thousand naira. The woman jumped up and left the scene in happiness. I was still watching when another man started crying and came to him. He knelt down and begged him that he needed money to establish a business. This man brought out 1million naira cheque and gave this man. This time, I started murmuring and practicing on the lie I will blow to have my own national cake. I started crying and came to the man. Immediately I knelt down, I heard "cut!! Cut!! Cut!!". I turned and saw the director of the movie. He laughed and said "ol boi na movie we dey shoot here" ooo... Hehehehehehe shame wan kill me. Chai!! Economy no go kill person faaa... Lol... Have a wonderful night folks... |

A 17-year-old girl, Temitope Saka, has died after drinking insecticide, Sniper, in the Igando area of Lagos State. PUNCH Metro gathered that the victim left behind a suicide note in which she allegedly blamed her grandma for her death. Our correspondent gathered that Saka’s boyfriend reported the incident to the police at the Igando division, which led to the arrest of the woman. It was learnt that the victim’s mother died when she was three years old. A source explained that Saka, who was the only child of her parents, was taken to her grandmother’s house on Mofoluwasho Close, Alhaji Ede bus stop, Igando. The source said, “She had been living with her grandma since her mother died. The grandma is a trader in Ikotun, where the girl met her boyfriend, who is also a trader. “There were times that the girl brought the man home and he spent the night with her because the grandma went for vigils.” Another source said when the victim became pregnant, her grandma insisted she packed out of the house. “The woman insisted that she packed to her boyfriend’s house. She threw out her luggage and chased her away,” he said. Our correspondent learnt that the victim drank the poison last Wednesday and began foaming in the mouth at her boyfriend’s house. She was said to have been rushed to the Igando General Hospital where she died. Her boyfriend, who saw the suicide note, was said to have reported the incident to the police. A resident said, “The girl and the boyfriend loved each other. The man did not even reject the pregnancy. “The grandma probably chased her away because she could not stand the shame that the girl got pregnant out of wedlock. “Last Wednesday, while she was at the boyfriend’s house, she started foaming in the mouth and she was taken to the hospital. “The boyfriend found a suicide note where she accused her grandma of causing her death. He reported to the police. “The police took the note and arrested the woman. She was in tears at the bus stop as she kept saying she didn’t mean any harm. It was a sad sight.” A woman on the street told our correspondent that Saka was her parents’ only child. She said, “Out of all the women her father married, it was only her mother that had a child and she was the only child. She was the hope of the family. Now that she is dead, that hope is gone.” Our correspondent learnt that it was the second time in less than two months that a pregnant teenager would commit suicide in the area. On June 18, a 19-year-old girl, Uche Obiora, allegedly took Sniper at her boyfriend’s house, which is a street away from Saka’s grandmother’s house. A resident, who identified himself as Goddey, appealed to the government to intervene in the increasing rate of teenage suicides in the community. When our correspondent approached Saka’s relatives at their house on Mofoluwasho Close, they declined comment. A fair-complexioned woman, who donned a berret, said, “Nothing evil happened to us here. Please leave now. We don’t want to say anything. You can write whatever you have heard. We have nothing to say.” The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Saka’s death. She said, “The victim allegedly drank a substance suspected to be Sniper insecticide. “She was rushed to the Igando General Hospital for treatment; but she died. Her corpse has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy. Investigation is still ongoing.” |
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has relieved the State Accountant General, Danjuma Adamu, of his duties with immediate effect. Mr. Adamu has been accused of spying on all financial incomes of the State government and passing on this information to the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who currently serves as a senator. He was also accused of sabotaging all financial payments to the State government, a situation which caused the delay in salary payments to the State civil servants. In a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, and made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday evening revealed that Mr. Adamu is to hand over the position to the Director of the Treasury in the Ministry of Finance, Ibrahim A. M. Kura, being the most senior. Mr. Ganduje thanked the outgoing Accountant General for the services he rendered to the State and wished him God's guidance in his future endeavors. Our correspondent recalled that the State House of Assembly in May 2016 passed a resolution calling on the governor to sack the Accountant General.

That's poverty derived thought. Must she not use something good? It's not long when an ex-Minister said her gold jewelry is pervasive even at Bodija Market. |
They are both good, but Baba (Chief Bode George) is better in terms of political know how, charisma and vast experience. |
may their souls rest in peace |
What a bigotry and myopic thought! FFK is suffering mouth diarrhoea.. |
That's lovely. |
Churches, Mosques and the larger society must change as well. |
It seems she has phobia for a public address, and she is in a State Assembly. Didn't she campaign? |
Too bad, who will catch the catcher? |
It is high time our leaders rekindle their sincerity and love for the masses. Then, am thinking of making the National Assembly membership a Part Time Based, and holistically regulate the budget consideration processes. |
Oh boy! This is Naija, getting juicy job has nothing to do with your University grade. The factors are 2; First is about destiny, then Second is your connection. So be more prayerful and try to be connected with 4G networks. I have a friend and schoolmate who graduated with strong 2.1 from Unilorin, Economics Dept and have since been working as a Class Room Teacher. And another two dudes graduated with Pass, and both are working with USAID and Parastatal in Fed Min Of Environment respectively. |
Yes, he will effectively handle the mandate of JAMB. Oloyede's testimonial has been long written in an optimum ink, when he held sway at Unilorin. |
Professor Oloyede will bring forth his innovation in the management of the nation's matriculation and admission procedures. He has been tested and trusted. I wish him a successful tenure as JAMB, Chief Registrar. |

The Presidency on Monday said contrary to claims by some individuals and groups, President Muhammdu Buhari has treated all Nigerians without bias for ethnicity or religion in his appointments and policies since he assumed office on May 29, 2015. It said claims that the present administration was targeting Christians and members of the opposition were without foundation. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in a statement while reacting to The London Telegraph’s article “Children Face Death by Starvation in Northern Nigeria” published on Saturday. Shehu said the article repeated a claim from an earlier piece “Nigeria Using UK Aid to Persecute President’s Political Foes” published on April 12, indicating that Nigeria was diverting United Kingdom’s aid monies away from defeating the Islamist terror group Boko Haram towards those the newspaper identifies as political opponents of the administration. He said the statement was incorrect and unhelpful. The presidential spokesman said to suggest Buhari’s government as deepening Muslim- Christian division was not only untrue, but played into the hands of Boko Haram who wished to divide Nigerians along religious lines. He said, “As for claims that the administration is targeting Christians and the opposition, these are without foundation. “Since assuming office, President Buhari has treated all Nigerians without bias for ethnicity or religion – as the composition of his cabinet and the policies and programmes of his administration demonstrate. “To suggest his government as deepening Muslim-Christian division is not only untrue, but plays into the hands of Boko Haram who wish to divide Nigerians along religious lines. “Fighting this group is key priority of President Buhari’s administration. Indeed the international community has widely acknowledged his determination to defeat terrorism in Nigeria and the entire Lake Chad Basin. “There is nothing to gain by attempting to mould public opinion against these facts. Therefore we invite The Telegraph to visit Nigeria: to witness first hand not only the challenges we face, but the administration’s determination to confront them.” Shehu noted that while the claims in both articles were attributed to an unnamed source in the United States and “Western officials”, yet the first article drew the condemnation of the US Embassy in Abuja as having drawn conclusions directly opposite to the position of the US government when it was first published. He explained that the UK government does not give development aid to the Nigerian government for operations against Boko Haram. He added that the Federal Government is not in position to divert aid monies meant for refugees. He also noted that the blame for the plight of refugees lies with members of Boko Haram, saying they are its cause, not the Nigerian government. He added, “To state the facts: the UK government does not give development aid to the Nigerian administration for use in military operations against Boko Haram. Where British military support – such as intelligence – is provided, it is precisely and only, given for operations directly against Boko Haram. “Similarly, the Nigerian Government is in no position to divert aid monies used for emergency relief for refugees or IDP camps for any other purpose, as these are dispensed directly by DFID, USAID, the United Nations, the International Red Cross, Doctors without Borders and many other organisations – with which we enjoy excellent relations. “The humanitarian situation in these camps is real. The administration remains deeply concerned about the medical, health and nutrition challenges and we are doing everything with the limited resources we have at our disposal to improve the situation.”
