Education / Re: Medical Students To Spend 11 Years In Varsity − NUC by Bimpss(f): 5:55pm On Mar 14, 2016
That sounds about the same amount of time it takes to become a doctor in the U.S and in other developed countries. I actually agree with this, it might reduce the amount of medical malpractice in Nigeria.

Wats up Nairaland! It has been a while.

Health / Re: Fear Of Ebola: Villagers Flee From The Sight Of Red Cross And Western Doctors by Bimpss(f): 2:10am On Aug 01, 2014
If there is one thing that I am sure about, it's the fact that there is no such thing as "Coincidence". Coincidence are symbols and signs hinting at the truth. I am not much of a conspiracy theorist myself, but I wonder about certain things. Why is it always the continent of Africa that gets hit the hardest with infectious disease epidemic? Take for example HIV/AIDS was discovered in the United states, but it supposedly "Originated" from chimpanzees in Central Africa. Don't get me wrong, I love science it's one of the best thing that has happened to the human race, but science has a dark side and that's it goes TOO FAR. We are all guinea pigs (If you don't believe me, try to be apart of a research team and you will find out a lot of hidden secrets) in one way or another, whether you know it or not(Or you know it, and you choose to ignore that fact). We have seen many instances where science have crossed the line I.e The Tuskegee experiment, the trovafloxacin drug trial (It still amazes me that a lot of Nigerians don't know about this experiment that was conducted right under their nose) e.t.c. A renowned scientist by the name of Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz have made a claim that AIDS and Ebola are part of a series of viruses that were bio engineered in American laboratories, which doesn't sound too crazy to me when I think about the many times scientist have called for population control. HIV/AIDS and Ebola all have the same "scientific excuse" and it has something to do with Africa and Apes. Coincindence? Me think Not. I call Bull&#it and I think the African people and the rest of the human race have a right to call Bull&#it on science many excuses for Experiments gone wrong.

Health / Re: No Nigerian Infected With Ebola Virus - Health Ministry by Bimpss(f): 2:31am On Jul 30, 2014
It's only a matter of time, unless flights are blocked from the African countries affected by the virus and people coming into the country are tested for "Communicable diseases". Then it's only a matter of time until Nigeria has an outbreak, so people don't relax because Nigeria is NOT in the clear(Matter of fact, No country is). This virus has no cure and you have a higher chance surviving from AIDS than Ebola(There is only a 10% chance of surviving from Ebola). PREVENTION IS REALLY THE KEY IN THIS CASE

Metalbell:
What is a Mikel?
1. A Magician: He's right in front of you for 90
minutes, but you only get to see him for 30
seconds picking up a yellow card.
2. A Mikel is a Nigerian Ferrari with the engine of a Picanto.
3. A Mikel is anything that has weight, occupies
space, breathes but remains stationary.
4. A Mikel is a confused strolling object that has
no focus. 5. It is an SI unit for measuring
deceleration, e.g the car decelerated by 2 mikel/ sec.
6. The botanical name of a snail, Mikelis Obilis.
7. Anybody who can pass the ball but can't shoot,
cross, head, or be creative. e.g, My grandma is a
Mikel.
8. A mikel is that footballer who is allergic to goals. What does Mikel mean to you?
A professor was asked and he has this to say:
1. A mikel can be define as a person/object that
runs/walks/hops/strolls/jogs/crawl from one
side of the field to the other, eg obi is a mikel.
2. IDIOM: /to be in a mikel with one/: to be tired, lazy, weak, refusing to be active, energetic , or just
being lazy with a friend or lover etc.

-They are good with field play
-They are good with ball possession
-They have a really good keeper (YESS! Enyema is truly one of the best keepers out there. Did you see how many times he saved our a&&es today??).

Travel / Re: 2 Nigerian Students Deported From Canada After A Year In Hiding by Bimpss(f): 12:55am On Oct 19, 2013
See now this is why we can't have nice things. Canada is opening their borders, and welcoming people of all nationalities to study in their country and you have people taking advantage of a law that can be easily followed. It's people like this girls, that ruin things for everybody else. If Canada decides tomorrow to give limited student visas who could blame them?

Celebrities / Re: Yinka Ayefele’s Band-boys Disappear During US Tour by Bimpss(f): 7:44pm On Oct 18, 2013
Allohrandy: I don't think the US government will waste their time and resources to search for the band members unless they commit serious crimes. In US, there are over 11 million illegal immigrants living in the States without legal paper. The only problem is that they will suffer in the US if they don't have close family in the States to help them with jobs and accommodation because no company will want to employ illegal immigrants and they cant rent an apt if they don't have drivers license.

To add to that, and even if they do have family members here sooner or later they will become a burden to them. Where I live it is extremely difficult to find people who will hire you for "under-the-table jobs" and they can no longer work at McDonalds or do all those jobs termed as "dirty" because those jobs are barely hiring legal people talk less of the illegal ones. Long story short, things are not looking good as being an illegal immigrant and I can honestly tell you that it is only going to get harder as time goes on.
Celebrities / Re: Yinka Ayefele’s Band-boys Disappear During US Tour by Bimpss(f): 6:57pm On Oct 18, 2013
Terrible time to "hide" in the U.S. Since they currently are not welcoming immigrants with open arms anymore. Just one question, Do these guys have legal papers? If not then in my naija words "Dem go suffer tire". grin grin I feel bad for them just thinking about all the suffering they will have to go through, before they finally - In Mitt Romney's -words "self-deport" themselves.

Health / Re: Surgery Done With a 'rechargeable lamp' In Nigeria... by Bimpss(f): 4:19pm On Oct 16, 2013
And some idïots are here blaming the doctors, what do you expect them to do in a situation like this. Leave the patient in the middle of surgery, and wait for the power to come back on?? That makes absolutely no sense at all. A good doctor makes use of whatever they can get their hands on in order to save a patient's life, including using a torchlight when there is a power outage. Whatever happens, the show must go on! You can't leave your patient to die because their is no light. It is a flimsy excuse. This shows how dedicated some Nigerian doctors are, in the midst of nothing they make use of the little they have. Nigerian doctors in my opinion are not appreciated enough and are very underrated.

Nairaland / General / Re: Mexican Woman Gives Birth To Child On Hospital Lawn by Bimpss(f): 12:05am On Oct 16, 2013
Quite cruel and humiliating, for a woman to have to succumb to giving birth on a lawn (of all places) In public where everyone can see her in that vulnerable state. I am pretty sure, the people who turned her away do not have any soul. The photographers also have their fault, I know this picture shed light on the situation at hand but why take pictures of her while the baby's umbilical cord is still attached to her? At least preserve a little bit of her dignity.

You aren't the only one, some fashion shows are a joke. Some of the runway clothes look like a 3rd grader was having fun with scissors.
