I can see a pattern here, the kind of questions mazaje was asking on N/L in the quotes below are pointers to those who are on a slopy descent into the atheism. I can also see that the stories of bindex and mazaje look similar and the fact that you stand in a garage does not make you into a car equally the fact that your parent take you to church does not make you a Christian. You need to have a personal encounter with Jesus to have an intimate relationship with Him that makes you a Christian after you have repented and forsaken your sins. The fact that your parents take you to church does not make you a Christian, it involves your own will and decision to commit your life to Christ.

Will you please be quite. The fact that you decided to swallow the story entirely without finding out if it is true or not does not mean you have the right to tell others how to think or reason. If you were born in Mongolia(As mazaje has said there are millions living in the world today that have never heard that name at all) I don't think you would have ever heard the name Jesus at all talkless of deluding yourself into believing that you are into a personal relationship with him. The human mind is very powerful, You can imagine yourself and create a personal  relationship with a tree and your mind will help you achieve and establish that relationship as long as you truly believe in it, commit to it and make it your prority your mind will help you establish that relationship and it will be as real as it can be to you.

Isn't it funny that only those that believe in your own version and interpretation of the bible and christianity that are right and are in a personal relationship with your god while you truly believe that all the others that diagree with your own version and interpretation are wrong and deluded?

Some christians see how nonsensical the entire tale is and prefer to call it an allegory because it just doesn't make sense how can a father punish his children for doing that which they do not know? The story is the same as putting a loaded gun in your baby's crib and after the gun goes off for one reason or the other the father blames the baby. The whole tale is so nonsensical to the extent that many christians themselves do not accept it as a historical even but as an allegory.

Yahweh who was supposed to protect his innocent children that know nothing from harm allowed his enemy to come inside the garden and deceive them . This tale makes no sense at all, after the serpent somehow sneaks into the garden he the went ahead and told eve that she will not die if she eats of the fruit which later turns out to be the truth because according to the bible both adam and eve lived for hundreds of years. While yahweh was lying to adam and eve that they will die once they eat of the tree the serpent was the one that told them that they will know the difference between right and wrong etc.

Do people really believe that this ridiculous event is what lead to the entrance of sin and death into the world? This nonsense tale is what made the legs of snakes to disappear, turned animals into carnivores, lead to the existence of natural disasters like earth quakes, diseases and also lead to the narrowing of women's birth canals etc? Scientist have done a lot of research and hard work in exploring the earth and some parts of the universe but they have yet to see the name or nature(as described by god believers) of any god in any part of the universe at all.I just don't see how science could miss evidence of god. Whoever or whatever created the universe and keeps it working (a created universe would need constant twicking every now and then) must be an extremely energetic entity that is always on the move and in motion.

I don't see how it could remain hidden to every scientific method of detection. Since scientist claim(with some degree of empirical evidence to show) that they can detect events that happen billions of miles away and billions of years in the past. How could we not detect a being that can speak a universe into existence. I just don't see it, it doesn't make any sense at all.

Is there any such thing as the empirical reasoning for the existence of god? The question is what is god in the first place? What you define as god to you might be called something else by your next door neighbor the word god has no universal meaning or acceptance. People, at least theists define the word "'God" in agreement with their own beliefs, knowledge, culture and environment and along the timeline of history, its definition has constantly been slightly changed to conform with the basic nature of the human society and culture. There is no absolute and clear meaning in the word god. There is no need inferring on such a being or concept, because there is no logical point to it.

As mazaje has said all the gods of man made religions do not exist because they were created(written and conceived) by men like you and I. Man created god because of fear and lack of knowledge to help him better understand the word and give him some level of comfort or make him have dominion over others in one way or the other, when man didn't know how the earth was formed he decided to say that his own version of god created the earth, he didn't know how love worked, so it came from his own god. Even today, some theist that believe i big bang say that "It is caused by god." so I conclude that god is nothing more than something vague with no real meaning in other words to me god is ignorance to some level and comfort to another level.

#2 - Your story is too hilarious. I had a very similar experience long time ago, the 'pastor' was pushing my head back trying to make me fall . . . dude obviously does not know 'bout me. I did not fall and did not 'speak in tongues'. I refused to encourage such rubbish and was subsequently labeled one of the less 'spiritual' ones.
 The last time someone tried to 'lay hands' on me I kindly declined and stood to the side. I'm glad non-christians see this for the rubbish it is, now only if the 'christians' can open their eyes too.

Me I believe it will take a really long time but something has to first put a sense of patriotism in us first, those stupid white people put us all together in one place, african societies do better when governing their kind, until we shed the tribal skin we are not going anywhere. So I also think a serious war with another country might just scare it into us, that is the short cut, the long route is democracy which I estimate 300 years before the kind of change we want. The trip is still on . This country is a complete mess and the problem is that we really have no idea of how to help ourselves, every body is just a lying fool in one way or the other. All the leaders were brought up or came out from the same dead system, They didn't fall down from mars. The came out from the already dead Nigerian system. This country needs serious help. Its very obvious that we can't help ourselves.

I am presently In Nigeria and sometimes I wish that there is a god so that he can help Nigerians since they can't help themselves at all. . What really is wrong with the black man? Why can't we create and run a civilized, modern and functioning society like others? a society where there is rule of law and some level of harmony? Its super crazy what is going on here in this country. when ever I compare the life here and what is obtainable in Sweden or Belgium I  . My heart bleeds for this country. Sometimes I really wish that there is a god so that he can help all the helpless people in Nigeria, its really really crazy what is going on here. 

So I decided once again to go to church so as not to annoy my cousin (who is about to help me get a good business deal ). While in church the pastor started repeating the same discredited and pathetic lies.

"You shall be the head and never the tail if you have the keys to the kingdom. Financial freedom is under your control because you are a child of the kingdom, He who is the child of the kingdom speaks with authority and everything he says shall come to pass, Poverty is not part of the kingdom so those that are members of the kingdom shall never lack. As long as Jesus is alive poverty and lack shall never be part of the christian life. The battle is mine says the lord and since he is the one fighting the battle the members of the kingdom shall always prevail and always rule. There shall be finacial successes and endless testimonies bla bla bla at the end of the whole brohaha people were now told to sow seeds unto the kingdom since they are eternal members of the kingdom. After all the cajoling and sweet mouthing most of the people did not really what happened to them because they were separated with their hard earned money as usual.

So  after the long and entertaining sermon that was filled with empty and ridiculous promises that have no basis the time came for people to be "set free" of all the  wandering spirits of darkness that are out there causing havoc . The pastor(ridiculous lying entertainer) who came all the way from the UK began to call on people to come forward and be "set free". He will call unto a person, the person will come out and the pastor will hold the person's head speak in tongues and the person will fall down(into the hands of two men standing behind him/her) and lay on the floor. At a time the pastor did not even need to lay his hands on the people he just makes a gesture and the person that was called out will just fall and lay on the ground. 

I was highly astound while watching all the magic until I was called upon. Immediately the guy pointed towards my direction I quickly looked back hoping he will change his mind but he didn't instead he called out the color of the shirt I was wearing and told me to come forward. my heart started to race because I NEVER expected to be called upon, so I went forward and before i reached where the pastor was he made the gesture(throwing some invisible fire ball towards me) I didn't feel anything so I kept on coming closer to him and he asked me to stop walking, he then walked up to me and the two guys that people fall into their hands immediately came to my back. The guy held my head with both of his hands spoke in tongues then said i set you free in the name of jesus and then pushed me, I took a couple of steps backwards and continued to look at him. His eyes opened and i noticed he was very surprise, he now quickly walked up to me and then held my head again as he did before this time he looked me into the eyes and brought his mouth very close to my ears as if he wanted to tell me something but he didnt utter a word. He then shouted and said i set you free in Jesus name. I just decided to end the chase and fell backwards into the hands of the guys behind me. Two people I knew very well were also called before me.

After the service I went and asked my younger brothers friend that was also called upon why he fell(he is like a younger brother to me) and he told me that he fell because he didn't want to embarrass himself, he told me that didn't I see every body that was called upon falling down when the pastor touched him/her or made the gesture? I wasn't surprised because the guy is a funny and an unseriousness dude. he asked me why I fell and I dint say anything I just kept quite and left him alone. So I went and asked my friends's wife who is really into all these things and highly believes in them why she fell and she told me that she fell because she wanted to obey the the holy spirit. I asked he if she felt some force push her backwards and she said no, she said she was having an encounter with the holy ghost and she obey that command. She said the pastor wanted them to fall down in reverence for the holy gost. I asked her if she heard a voice and she said no. she said that it is written in the bible that at the mention of the name of jesus every knee in heaven and on earth most bow, she fell on her own in obedience to the word of god, she wanted to embarrass the spirits of darkness she said by making them know that jesus is lord all the time so she fell down on her own in obedience, she wasn't pushed down at all by any force but fell on her own in obedience. I made light of the whole conversation and left.

So the question now is this? What is all this pretense? . Why pretend as if you are being pushed by some force when nothing is really pushing you at all? Why pretend to people and make them think that some external force is behind your action(falling) when no external force is behind it at all. There are cases where some people fall down so badly and get injured, some even die from such falling according to some reports. What is all these delusion? Why pretend to people as if you are been pushed by an external force when nothing is pushing you at all? I just can't understand this.

All these long debates about god and his existence . If there truly is a god will people be asked to believe in his existence? When last were people told or asked to believe in the existence of the sun or even micro organisms that they can not see with the ordinary eyes? Most people simply believe in the god or gods they were told were real since childhood they grow up with the belief and as the saying goes a Lie that is constantly repeated becomes the truth over time. Most people assume god exist because they have been taught to believe it since childhood. If all children were only allowed to be presented with a bible or koran and other religious text only when they are 21 very very very few of them will ever believe in any of the hypothesis they contain about the origin of the universe and the other lalala tales they contain about life after death.

The writers of the bible made very false predictions that can be checked like Edom (the land between the Dead Sea and Gulf of Aqaba) saying that it become burning pitch forever and that no one will ever pass through it again because It's fire will not be quenched night and day its smoke will rise forever because the placed has been cursed by the crazy jewish warrior god from generation to generation or by saying that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon will conquer Egypt and the river Nile will dry up for a certain duration. Our deluded apologist (Neotic) is now trying to say that the nonsense that was written had no specific time even though the book of Ezekiel not only mentions that names of some of the cities that were to be affected it also mentions the name of the King that will conquer Egypt. .

Its better to live around people that truly believe what the bible teaches them and live by it than to live around all these liars that only know how to twist things around to suit their own views.

My friend stop lying for jesus here, The only condition written in the bible and the only words and condition said to be spoken by jesus are belief and faith. If you have them the bible says that there is no magic that you can not perform.

The bible is very CLEAR as to how prayers are supposed to work. All you need is faith and the magic will be done thats from the words that were said to be spoken by jesus himself.

The gains from becoming an atheist are immeasurable. An atheist's gain is freedom, freedom of his mind from fear, fear of Gods, Devils, Demons, spirits, witches, Pastors, Babalawos and best of all fear of death. The only fear an atheist entertain is fear of armed robbers,  mad policemen and most of all fear of religious fanatics, both Christian and Muslim. That freedom is exhilarating. I compare attaining atheism to attaining Buddhahood  or attaining Nirvana, you see the whole world as it really is and not through the rose tinted glass of any other person.

Attaining atheism is not an easy task, no body converts an atheist, it can can only be attained through hard work, mentally and spiritually. That is why i never attempt to convert any one. When one is ready for it, the person will seek for it.

I can in all honesty tell you that i only got to know true happiness until i was able to free my mind from the shackles of religion.

So true same with me I have never been happier in my life until I became an atheist. Now I see and accept things the way they really are instead of accepting them through the many lies told by some other people that I never knew.

all these false claims, pretended "outrage" . . . the reason you dont see many atheists on the streets is because they are afraid to state their claims boldly. To say atheism is a taboo in nigeria is FALSE. Tai Solarin was a famous atheist and he was well respected till he died, he even ran a private school, was principal of MayFlower Ikenne and has another polytechnic named after him. So cut that crap about being "arrested" for being an atheist.

Does this FOOL know what he is really talking about? I live in belgium and Sweden where the majority of the people are athiest so I know very much what I am talking about. I was in England about 2 weeks ago before I came here to Nigeria and when I told some christians I meet over there (white and black people) that I was an atheist  the white lady and her friend only asked for the reason I was not a christian any more and the conversation ended there, but the stupid yourba woman that was with them kept on shouting the blood of jesus just because I said the whole christian tale is a fairy tale. She even said that I should stop saying what I am saying else I will never experince happiness in my life. What a Deluded goat she is.

I can not come out and tell people around me here in Nigeria that I am an atheist, the deluded fools will try to harm me.
