Emmanuel Okafor 08177642829 claimed he knew me and even mentioned my address that he's an Independent Contractor...blah blah. He later sent me a text of a company's name BENTEX ENGR SERVICES, PLT 105 LASU IGANDO ROAD LAGOS. Material is Power Indicator Rings, model SPN 1.(. Store manager Elder David Omar 08034066730. I searched on google and saw this thread that they are SCAM! once again, God bless Nairaland.

I went to gotv office to get a gotv decoder on Saturday and they asked for my name and address which I gave them. only for me to get a call from these scam guys I had to play the game with them....

I sent a fake teller number to them telling them I just made payment.... after which one of them said I should send him credit to call and confirm the payment. I told him I don't have......and I asked them to send me credit to conclude the deal, they stopped calling

I entered one of the numbers via google and this topic came up....

Thanks for ur response... my system is a 12v system and my battery is 5 months old, I will add one 200ah to it if it is still okay to add the week... if not then i will have to get a seperate 2 battery of 200ah as i have the mppt charge controller 30a in stock.
I manage power to the extent that I hardly use up to 350watt at a go...
I will like to know the negative effect of 240watt panel over a 30a mppt charger controller.

a 240watt panel and a 30a mppt(bodejohn's type) charge controller on a 200ah zenith battery 12v system. what are the disadvantages? will increase battery and panel as the cash comes...

@george thanks... I stay in a rented apartment for now and that was what brought about the wind turbine consideration.... If i get the go ahead signal from my landlord then its going to be solar all the way...

@all it seems we dont have interest in wind turbine here in nigeria..... Pls house what are the barriers am likely to face if i have to go by the way of a wind turbine adding it to my small setup? Whats is the average wind speed for Lagos?

bodejohn: I think you should be able to use it without it being fully charged, however there are some watchouts....
DO not use it if the voltage is less than 12.2V, this is to ensure the DOD of the battery does go below 30 - 40%.
if you can wait for it to fully charge up, i advise you do.

@ all, i am reading up on how DOD of batteries ensure a longer use life, will hit the forum when i have sufficient links and information.

bodejohn: Do you know the charging current made available to your battery by the cyberpower inverter?
The time it will take for the battery to be fully charged depends largely on the amount of charging current and some other factors like temperature.
it might take longer than necessary to charge the battery if the charging current is low and will be quite fast if the charging current is high.

@all just bought a 200a zenith battery... According to the manual was ask to charge for 8hours b4 using with a 1kva cyberpower inverter for close to 9 hours now... Battery still not fully charge..... Can i start using it for the first time without fully charged?

yes, technically you can use a 260ah battery and a 1.5kva inverter to power what you just listed here.

the problem is without actual nameplate power ratings for these equipment i cannot give you an accurate
run time which is what you want.

@george, greetings....as a starter can i use 1 zenith battery (260ah) and a 1.5 kva inverter to power 1 lcd, 1 decoder, 1 home theatre, 2 ceiling fans. If yes like how many hours will it serve me if fully charge...
