Please no crises on an unfounded stat
Where is 80% percent male mortality coming from

Debrief's post could explain causes for differences in mortality rates in gender but not the 80% which sounds rule-of-thumbey and haphazard at best
FamilyRe: Is This Common Amongst Nigerian Married Women? by biolabee(m): 4:46pm On May 02, 2013
ileobatojo: Me neither. Which is why I said 3 leads 2 only by a whisker. I rank 3 as the worst for the plain nastiness/disgust factor. 2 is extremely unpalatable to me, why does he need a steady mistress? How can you claim to love me when you need another steady mistress? The way I see it, having 1 steady mistress means you are sharing your heart with her and I have no interest in dealing with that. Also how can I tolerate knowing that when you get off my bed, you are going to go poke your 'something' into another woman's Cores only to come back to me the next day, or even the next hour. Yuck!

Interestingly, I had this argument when I was younger and I remember strongly rating 2 above 3 and the person I was arguing with couldn't understand why. I don't know the reason for the slight shift though in my stance though...
Nice response. Learning more about the female psyche

There was a discussion i had with some ladies offline and the gist was that

They prefer their spouses have s.ex partners than one dedicated mistress..
Any thoughts on this?? House

bukatyne: I can't cope with nos 2 and 3.

No 1 will ruin the relationship and special bond we have and it'll take a conscious effort to build it again.

Everybody have their flaws and thresholds.

I can't stomach a cheating or abusive husband.
Thanks for the response
I appreciate the honesty of some of the respondents here though I am a bit concerned about the impact of a seperated home on the children and finances

In the West, some couples still have to live together in a loveless marriage because they cant afford to sell the home due to the recession and any proceeds may not be enough to live seperately

The matter tire me sef

Chi16: A MARRIAGE GUARANTEED TO FAIL

Much has bben written about ways to keep ur marriage strong. usually wen u read abt someone's failed marriage, u hear talk of one or a few of the things dat happened dat helped sentence the marriage to death. usually at the top of the list are finances and lack of s.ex or affairs. but long before these things usually come into play i challenge u that there are things being put into place that virtually ensure the marriage wi eventually die. these things are:
What are the things?!
FamilyRe: Is This Common Amongst Nigerian Married Women? by biolabee(m): 2:23pm On May 02, 2013
bukatyne: Then why your question 'if a woman would stay if her husband does his duty but has a steady mistress?'

Can a husband be truly said to be doing his duty if he's unfaithful to his wife?
I was trying to get a sense of relative tolerance by ladies
Each gave their own tolerance factor based on their own experiences or as we call it 'risk appetite'

On your second question, you will have to answer me as a lady because I have answered the question in my posts where I made reference to monogamy vs polygamy dichotomy

You seem to have quoted me out of context

FamilyRe: Why Do Most Fathers Die Before Mothers? by biolabee(m): 1:53pm On May 02, 2013
debrief08: 1. The economy: Most people still believe in running single income house hold, Father runs around morning till night in bad traffic, stress from thinking of constant bills, he ignores his health, takes panadol for headaches (which is a sign that something is going wrong in his system), with no preventive and proper lifestyle, seating a lot and hours in traffic, father has a silent stroke and dies.
2. Lifestyle choices: some fathers live irresponsibly, chasing all the girls in town, drinking and smoking like tomorrow no dey, when they kill their bodies with bad elements, they die
3. Travel: father works in lagos keeps family in spacious ibadan house, or fathers work involves plenty travel, so many accidents on Nigerian roads plus majority of commercial drivers are fathers not mothers
4. Fathers more than mothers ( except in places like Jos and north central) are involved in hard manual labour and coupled with failure to care for health fathers body and heart gives way
5. Mothers due to pregnancy get to check their health more and see red flags on time, most fathers never go for voluntary tests till its almost too late
My suggestions; Fathers cut down the work load, you die work continues, if you drive, drive carefully or demaand drivers drive responsibly for the sake of your kids as they say "speed kills", reduce drinking, smoking and indiscriminate messing around.
Mothers who believe father must kill him self and sell his blood for you, cut it out earn a living, you have hands, if he dies you will find work and raise those kids.
Help fathers reduce stress level, make appointments and drag him if you have to so he can get regular blood checks, sugar levels, blood pressure and other tests
FamilyRe: Is This Common Amongst Nigerian Married Women? by biolabee(m): 1:49pm On May 02, 2013
bukatyne: It's really amazing people think it's ok if a man cheats or has a steady mistress as long as he's performing his duties at home.

This now births the question:

What is a man's duty at home?(i.e. to his wife, children)
A mans duty in my words is to be a dutiful husband to his wife, loving father to the kids; protect and shelter them and ensure the family achieves their potential.

Its more than this but a lot of males learn from their fathers

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by biolabee(m): 10:03am On May 02, 2013
Mcleo007: Hmmmmmmm! So this is the best you can come up with, eh? Now, picture these: When this team was a persistent thorn in the flesh of most top teams, they weren't considered top class abi world class in your own book, right? When top coaches were made to look like rookies, and could only marvel at the awesomeness of this bond and the tiki-taka passage, they still weren't top class, right? When renowned defenders were made to look like school boys (Ferdinand, Vidic, Pepe, Ramos, Maldini etc), not sparing world class goal-keepers and midfielders, they weren't up there in your own 'delusion', i can guess. My guy, i bet you started watching football when Moanrhino got signed to Chelsea, and the whole noise of player signings got you hooked, and made you think football is all about 'now'. The signs were there from midway into the season. The coaching crew only failed to tend to it. The squad is too thin to compete on the grandest level and to full capacity. A good case is in the first leg away at Bayern; looking at the bench, you need no soothsayer to tell you there is no single person there who could walk in and change the game. We have been on the hangers all season and there is a limit you can hold on to. All the team needs now is a little injection in key areas to complement what is there and trust me, we are back to our formidable best.

IMO:
1. We do not need to sell players like some have suggested. The cure to a head ache is a pill and not cutting off the head. Selling massively and buying little will only reduce the squad further.

2. We need to look into next season and look positively at that. Squad rotation is one sure thing that will help. There is no need loaning Bartra or Montoya. All that the lads need is more playing time. I believe if Bartra had played more during the season, at least in the home games against smaller teams, he would have developed faster than he currently is. Look at Varane for example.

3. We need 5 major singings: 2 CBs(Hummels, Botia, Agger, T.Silva or that Real Sociedad guy who has made La Liga team of the week on Goal.com no fewer than 9 times this season), 1GK (Courtois or Hugo Lloris), 1CMF (an experienced one ala Beckam's mould) and a striker (big or small in stature - i prefer Suarez). These signings will provide us the Plan B so sought of.

4. For those media suggestions of the end of an era, i challenge them to say same at this stage next season. We are barely at the awakening of the era. The era is not about to end just yet. Afterall, La Liga is signed and sealed. That is major trophy considering the challenges we have faced this term. Moudrid can choke on their King's cup tongue - respect to Chief Usbcable. wink
Love this
14 titles in 5 years is no joke

They have to rebuild
The season was not a total failure though...

A Liga plus 2 semi finals is not bad but considering the lofty heights we know them there is room for improvement

Clearout - Puyol, Valdez, Abidal, Villa, Xavi?,

New defenders, keepers
Will Tito be lucky next year health wise

God knows

Now I don't know who I want to win

Dortmund have been fantastic and as underdogs.. I love them

But Bayern have been unlucky twice..
3rd time lucky??
Nairaland GeneralRe: Feminism - Why Women In General (especially Black Women) Have Been Duped By It!! by biolabee(m): 8:06am On May 02, 2013
Some women stay with extremely abusive husbands. ex men who beat their wife etc and kids that are raised under this circumstance grow up with disturbing ideas about women. such kids are better off if the mother left the abusive house and raised the kids single-handedly.

of course the ideal is two caring parents. but if the home life is tumultuous, then one single parent with peace is much better. I'm sure you will agree with me. it's a pretty straightforward and logical statement.
My challnege here is that you have made the abnormal seemingly normal as a way to cater for abusive house holds

Your premise seems to be since 2 parents are abusive, singledom is the way

Have you experienced any spousal abuse
If not
What exactly is your percentage of spousal abuse in your friend because you have used this scenario to paint male folk as abusers and thus single parenting is the way to go

I have never experience spousal abuse around me aside from the news media
stop twisting my words tongue
I said it can be a blessing in certain aspects. taking extreme poverty out of the question, the kids grow up in a home environment that is not male dominated. it shapes their world view.
child rearing is nothing. it's just a job. anyone can clothe, feed a child. it's what they see. the way men and women interact, the way parents express their fears through what they buy the child, the inculcations etc that the kid absorb ideas that will shape her world view.

*I used "her" (instead of "he" ) intentionally because this is an example of how children's views are shaped from the moment they learn how to speak and read! this has very little to do with child-rearing (feeding, clothing, nurturing etc) .imagine, it's part of the english language to use male pronouns! this is one way children are unconsciously brought up to diregard women. even girls are brought up in the same way to disregard themselves!
Are you advocating single parenting as a way of raising men who will be sensitive to women

solomon111: Our season was ruined by the combined efforts of abramovich and rafa "the fat spanish waiter" benitez.
We've learnt our lessons.
Btw,chelsea's run in the UEFA cup helped England's coefficients.
So it is still 4 spots to the EPL in the forseable future.
Yep EPL is helped by the fact that the italians are poor
The mistake the italians did is to neglect europa league focussing on UCL

The Germans did well in europa
Hamburg (beating City), Werder Bremen (((Diego,Ozil), they used this to build up their coeeficient to take on Italy

Now England is in their sights

However no 1 - 3 still have 4 slots
