carefreewannabe: Your experience is not representative, science is! That's why we should focus on facts instead of judging from our little experience. How old are you and how many companies have your worked for? I work for a foreign university so I guess my salary doesn't fall into the statistics.

LewsTherin: I wouldn't say I don't want kids. But I didn't get married because I want to have children. And any In-Law who bothers me about it should go have their own!!!
Am I looking foward to children? Not really. But I am grateful that God will choose me to bring some new life into this world.

...and that is what I am worried about. This world is messed up enough as it is.
The world has been messed up from time immemorial
Na today people dey poke man nyansh - sodom n Gomorrah
Na today org.ies dey happen - roman empire
Na today immorality full ground - Noah's flood
Na today embezzlement dey- judas wey dey with jesus steal money

This world is a stream n we are in it for a time.
Its ur impact in that time that you should focus on
If you have kids, train them and God will bless your efforts

carefreewannabe: You can state your opinion in a more matter-of-fact way instead of being ggressive and offensive calling women who want to ensure other women some certain rights all sort of names. You have a very extreme view and you sound like some sort of bigot. This happens because you are not able to look at things from MORE THAN JUST ONE PERSPECTIVE in order to develop A MORE BALANCED VIEW.
The same happened when we were talking about the Bible yesterday. You stated the duties of a wife but didn't mention those of the husband.
Now you are saying how feminists destroy homes and forget that husbands do the same all the time.

Like I said, you will EASILY find a woman who is compatible with your mindset, so no need to worry. We can continue talking but let's stick to facts instead of getting all emotional.
Since you are talking about facts
Can you provide evidence on this gender wage gap you speak about

claremont: It is an interesting coincidence that most feminists are the downright ugly and vile ladies. Feminism, to them, is not a choice but rather, it represents the last straw they desperately cling on to.

Nah my own I yarn oh, make nobody insult me this morning abeg.
This thread has shown how misguided the feminists are
What is so pathetic is the quickness to descend to insults

Symptomatic of a superiority complex caused by deficiencies in other areas
Reminds me of mordoc for those who follow the marvel universe

coogar: majority of them have troubled childhood - they were abused or saw their mothers abused. if a woman grew up in a family that radiates love, where her father gave her attention and an undying love, feminism would be the last thing on her mind.
Others are over brilliant with no sense of emotional intelligence who just want to cause chaos for thr fun of it

Are you married
Can I give you my sister

If the so called educated ones cannot see this is a case of man driving his better half to the ground and not stereotypical BS

I wonder what hope there is

My old man cooked for us and people here have brough examples of their hubbies cooking when they were pregnant or away on courses

Yet these people persist in these beliefs that men are oppressors

One of them spoke about poor girl child education compared to girls in naija 2 weeks yet neglects the fact that only 3 pc of girls in the north go to school in the north

Yet she is a muslim oo

ekwah: haha I am glad you brought this up Shollypopz:

The man clearly has no respect for his wife. It is a classic example of an inconsiderate man with a very bad attitude and not a consequence of the ills of gender roles. In fact I don't think he believes in it, because if he did then his wife wouldn't be working for pay as that would have been his sole responsibility-(providing for his family). He is just lazy and is using very cheap excuses to justify his stance. Do you honestly think he would treat her any differently if there were no expectations on who was to do what in that house? I don't think so. Blaming the man's behavior on gender roles is rather simplistic.

I think all people (women and men) should be able to do some things by themselves- cooking, cleaning, and other basic things they need in other to get by daily. I however, still feel that there's nothing wrong with women and men playing different roles in the society provided there's equity in the treatments they receive. They should be able to share the responsibilities of the home such that no one is left with more than they can handle. It's really not that deep in my opinion.

If my wife wants to work for example, I see no problem with that. We would simply split the responsibilities between us. I would play my role as a man and she would perform hers as a woman. I can take some domestic chores, but there's just no way for example where I would play a sit-at-home dad while my wife is out there working. huh
