Goodday. Pls, what business can I start with 1.5m with a steady income in ibadan

Ibadan is quite expansive and equally super dense. This always translates to the fact that there will always be needs to be attended to....for a fee.

This economy right now is quite unpredictable and as such I don't advocate long term investments no matter how attractive.

Your best bet would be in trading fast moving consumer goods. All the better if you can source, procure and distribute very unique products. Please note that product must be a consumable to ensure frequent and consistent repeat purchases which will in turn assure of a consistent income stream.

Ibadan people are reputed to love cheap items but this doesn't negate their penchant for quality stuff. So look for something being produced and sold in Lagos which is yet to get into Ibadan and then explore the potential it has.

I would like to add that whatever you do please start small. Do a trial run first with about 50k - 100k and based on objective feed back you can decide to take the plunge......but grow in incrementally. If you have mobility (and are not afraid of hard work) then your business will grow phenomenally.

A major advantage in this model is that your money can be turned around twice a week so even if the margins are very low you can still do 10 to 12 cycles with the same amount of capital within one month. The risk is also minimal as there is no third part whatsoever.

Yes, the cost of logistics could be quite heavy but there are ways you can cut down the transport considerably. If and when you are ready to start I could recommend a few viable transportation options for you.

Above all, please handle your money alone. Do not delegate...at least initially.

Best of luck..

i reside at Ile-ile, Ketu. I have a valid licence and trust me..I'm easy to work with (I won't compromise integrity). I'll call you as soon as dawn breaks, my number ends with 2124. Thank you.

I read this post and I must say that I was impressed. Your flawless English as expressed here should attract more than just a driving role.

I also decided to check out your previous posts and I wasn't disappointed.

My only prayer is that you can defend the bolded then the sky will be your limit.

On the strength of the above I can say clearly that you have just landed a job with a reasonable company.....if the discussions meet your expectations.

Accomodation may also be offered if you are interested.

I however have only on request....don't let me down, do your best and I assure you that it will only end in praise.

You will receive a call early this morning!

Best wishes.

Business / Re: I need a job for my wife by Bionica: 1:21pm On Sep 21
edoncast:
Good evenning nairalanders ,

I have a 4-year old son who we really love so much and we(me&his mum) wants the best for him but the problem here is money .I have been shouldering all the responsibilities .My wife has a shop but the shop is almost collapsed now because they use the proceed to feed .

I work but i must tell you ,my salary is 100,000 and i work on island .I eat ,transport myself to-fro mostly 4 days in a week and i spend nothing less than 8,000 every week .So,sometimes ,i am left with 50,000 or less sometimes .

I just want a job for my wife .She has only school certificate but she writes and speaks english very well. She attempted National diploma back then but dropped at ND2 first semester due to financial issue .

She is ready to start a job because i have actually talked to her to help me in reducing these burdens on me and she agreed but since ,we have been looking for job for her but because of our son,all the jobs she have been getting are all demanding she close late .

She stays in Akute and she can work in Ojodu and its environment .She is already trying to sell her remaining stuffs in the shop and i have asked the landlord to look for a new tenant because i will not be able to pay rent again starting from this month .

All i want for her is job so she can help me .I am asking for assistance for a job fro her here pls.

I was really touched by your post. I hope you are sincere about this.

In any case I have decided to see how I can be of help. There are a few jobs that your wife can get around your axis there but their conditions are rather quite demanding.

1. There is a Factory Assistant job in Akute there where they are making different confectionery and they pay 15k for the first 3 months and 20k by the 4th month. They close 7.00pm and work Saturdays too.

2. There is also a Inventory Controls Officer role available in Akute too Position requires a graduate/ND holder. Salary is 40k but if your wife is as smart as you make her out to be we could convince management to give her the role. Work is 8-6pm Monday through Saturday.

3. Data Entries Assistant
This one is a like an Admin Assistant role. SSCE applicants with knowledge of MS Office suite. Experience in petty cash management will be an added advantage. Job is in Tipper Garage, Akute. 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday through Saturday. Salary is 20k.

Chose the one that is best for you and drop your wife's phone number and I will take it up from there.

I'm aware. It is better for government to invest more in training the young people to acquire soft skills in IT than trying to employ them factories. That is mostly unskilled labor... The developed world are moving on from a productive economy to a service economy... They are outsourcing production to Chinese and Indians

I would have agreed with your post but for the bolded. You need to come to terms with the very sad reality that government in our country has not yet evolved to this pedestal.

No progressive policy formulation, no robust and ambitious vision and worst of all no reflection of the collective interest in the day to governance model. It is each man to himself and......us.

Factory work is the same all over the world.....moreso in undeveloped settings. However they provide a lot of support to the economies of these nations by providing a launchpad for several young people who would otherwise be very unemployed.

Good morning ma,I will take the job at the bakery but it depends on the base since pay commute to akute is quite high(thought I will be coming home once a week),also have to think of feeding and other basic things.
Thank you ma,for your time.

I will contact the bakery owner today.
You have his number....initiate a discussion with him and then pay them visit for a proper interview. Pls note that he is a very thorough man. You will however be made an offer that is commensurate and reflective of your skillset which again can only be expressed during the interview session.

Contact him today and revert.

Cyril009:

Thank you ma,I would really appreciate if you would be. willing to help me out.
God bless you.

Having given it some thought these are the available options;
We could revisit the bakery opportunity and this implies that I would have to speak to the man and request that he gives you a second chance if the job is still available or perhaps he could create a role for you. This is like the proverbial bird in hand.

We could also forget about the bakery and keep our focus on other opportunities that may come up in the future. You have to choose and I then work on whatever your decision is.

I await your prompt response.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Help A Brother Any Available Job With Accomodation In Lagos by Bionica: 1:42pm On Aug 13
Cyril009:

Good morning ma,
Sorry about that I wanted to take the job offer the man even took his time to call me,explain gave me answers to my question and did all the things she asked for.

I don pack my load when she came into my room said
ope where are you going told her someone called me for a job at a bakery in akute.

before then I already asked for the address of the factory searched for it Google already linked the address to the bakery saw the gate,a little of the compound and the street.

saw one of their social media account saw the address same thing on google seemed like the company was legit made up my mind to go there atleast I would know the difference between a bakery and a house if I felt the vibe that it was a bakery ask around I would enter if it wasn't i would go back home.

explained it all to her she first started with "ofe ma tibi lo si akute" (you want to go from here to akute) told here there is accommodation ,the person that called me where do I know him told her from nairaland.

she started making a fuss about internet don't I know anything they will just kill you I am not doing internet work oo,call the man tell and tell him you aren't going anywhere. she called my aunty, and my elder brothers
told them her fabricated version they all stopped from going.

I couldn't call him and tell him that I won't be coming after all the odd things I asked him for.

Ma,I really appreciate the gesture and the opportunity
may God send favours your way in ways you don't imagine, pls tell the man I am sorry for being a bother.
Thank you.

Only problem I see here is the fact that you didn't communicate with the man.

Since it is Saturday, I will take my time and type out a few words that may benefit you and others.

Young people today live in the most interesting times. Opportunities now exist like never before. Nairaland is a wonderful resource if you know how to use it well.

I looked through your previous posts and liked the fact that your expression as a SSCE holder was superb. I took a liking to you and decided to give you some props to aid you now and in the future.

I called the gentleman and asked him if he could create an opportunity for you in his small business with me acting as Referee and Guarantor. After thinking through he decided to consider you and then he made the call. He was equally impressed the job was all yours for the taking.

Now about your mum and her anxieties.....her fears are well placed drawing from her inhibitions and limited exposure.....no offence meant here. You on the other hand are in the prime of your life, you hold a tool in your hands that can literally change your life and indeed the life of others and even of generations unborn. That is why you were able to do some sleuthing and confirmed for yourself that the offer was legit. She doesn't know that.

In your shoes, I would have gone to the place quietly, observed them, taken photos, perhaps had an interview, collected an appointment letter and gone back home to persuade her.

Perhaps you could even ask her to follow you there before resumption just to make her feel comfortable. I am sure the M.D of that business would have understood the need to assuage your mum.

That is a very different bakery. You would have learnt so much while there. In future always look at every opportunity form a comprehensive and wholesome perspective before accepting or declining.

Meanwhile, if you haven't yet started anything and are still open to this offer let me know.....perhaps we can yet salvage the situation. I am also available to help you you get other opportunities whenever the appear (of course they will most likely be offers that come online so you still have to contend with your mother's fears).

It's been nice reading from you and getting to hear what actually transpired.

Remain positive and expectant. It can only get better.

LIVEGOESON1

I took the time to look through your previous posts and was happy with the trail. On the strength of that I searched for your contact and sent it to an associate of mine with a high recommendation. The job was as good as yours.
I only got to know yesterday that the man called you and you mentioned something about your mum not allowing you take a job that comes with accomodation or something of that nature.

You even had the audacity to request for the man's picture and picture of his operations and obliged you.

The big question is; did you even attend an interview or even meet with the potential employer?

Most of you people here on social media seeking help have already pre-determined how help must come to you. Sadly, life doesn't work that way.

Let's be logical here

If the billboard was pulled down by let's say "angry mob"..... there's no way the image and parts of the board will still remain un-torn.

So it's either this picture was taken before mounting the billboard or the billboard was pulled down by wind as a result of weak balance.
