Back to the Serena-Jelena match, I was entertained by Jankovic's wry smiles and playful approach but does that show her lack of concentratiton?  And the umpire seemed not to favour Jankovic or was it mi?  Anyways, all in all, I feel this was a better final than the Serena-Venus Wimbledon final.

I was overjoyed by Murray's win.  I mean - it was like Nadal was gonna be unconconquerable for the next couple of years!  But can Murray impress in the final?  Or was he assisted by the fatigue from the year-long superhuman exploits of Nadal?

The finals of the men's singles of the 2008 US Open begins now.  The fresh brit Andy Murray challenges 5-time consecutive defending champion Roger Federer. Enjoy.

Music/Radio / Re: The Track Entertainer On D'banjs New Album! by bioye(m): 5:18pm On Sep 02, 2008
This D'banj album is my favourite album of his so far. I'm loving it. Music is not about sense, it's about entertainment, dance. It's about the beats. The Entertainer album has it all. Including much sensible lyrics too. I guess some people will never like D'banj. But that doesn't stop him from being Nigeria's top music act today. If MTV Base says so, who can say no?

I love the album - my favourite d'banj album so far.

Let me bore you with some Tsonga stats.  In this tournament, Tsonga has faced only Spaniards so far.  Call him a Spaniard-killer if you wish(He upset Spaniard Nadal in straight sets to reach the 2008 AO finals). If he wins Tommy Robredo today, he will most likely face Djokovic in the 4th round.  C'mon, let's wish Tsonga Ali some luck. wink
Sports / Re: US Open 2008 by bioye(m): 5:55am On Aug 30, 2008
I did.  Tsonga beat Carlos Moya to advance to the 3rd round where he'll face 15th seed Tommy Robredo.  It's the first time in the tournament that he'll face a higher seed.  Let's see how it goes.  Coin-Mauresmo is my match of the day.

FOD:

Try ESPN.

Thanks jare. Will do.

@FOD
Out of curiousity, why the double stars for the Tsonga and Safin matches?
Sports / Re: US Open 2008 by bioye(m): 1:14pm On Aug 29, 2008
Can you imagine.  Women's top seed Ana Ivanovic is out.  Why are the women seeds so unpredictable?  We've had like 4 women's no. 1 this year.  Anyways, I'm tipping Venus, Serena or Dinara Safina for the title.  I'm also highly suspicious of that Jullie Coin lady (she sent Ana Ivanovic home). And for the men, you guys should watch out for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, he's been recuperating fast and I bet he's going to do serious damage like he did in the Australian Open earlier this year.

Who am I tipping for the men's title?  King Tsonga of course!  Meanwhile, it appears SuperSports is not broadcasting the matches live.  If that's true, what are the options for those of us in Naija?
Religion / Re: The Problem With The Atheist by bioye(m): 4:48pm On Aug 13, 2008
How well do faith and reason mix? Hardly. A religious person has to use reason while studying in school and while seeking her daily bread but she has to suspend it when it comes to religion when things start looking illogical. Then there comes to issue of free will. Do we make our choices or are they predetermined by God? Can we change things through action, prayer? The science that makes air travel possible and gives us electricity invalidates Adam and Eve. yet it works. Prayers may work but it is never guaranteed.

Interestingly, I believe Faith is very useful and has its place in society. But are the current approaches the best? Why is the majority of Europeans atheist while America and Africa revel in Religious extravaganza? Is something wrong with the Europeans? Do they know too much?

Where do I stand? Do I believe in God? Christ? Religion? I seek understanding without offending anyone. But I still can't find that point where Faith and Reason can hold a productive argument. Somebody help me.
TV/Movies / Re: Football Challenge With Fash.what Do You Think Of It? by bioye(m): 4:25pm On Aug 06, 2008
Errm. Are we the only 2 watching this show? I really like the show. In fact, this show and Dragon's Den are the 2 reality shows that I believe are adding some measure of value for viewers. GUS? Can't say the same. My 2k.
Car Talk / Re: How To Raise A Car Loan? by bioye(m): 11:24am On Jul 09, 2008
If all you have in cash and liquid assets is roughly N600k, I dont think it's a good idea to spend it all on a car at a go. If however, you have stocks worth that amount or more, then you automatically quality to get a loan worth 75% of your stocks from Ecobank. All you need is a minimum of one month relationship with the bank.
Sports / Re: Tennis Is Interesting Again! by bioye(m): 10:20pm On Jul 06, 2008
Titanic Tussle. Epic Battle. What else can I use to describe it? I'm happy for Nadal. Rather sad for Federer. I think Nadal will be no.1 before the end of the year. I think he'll win the US Open and Australian Open before the end of next year. I think Federer will win another Wimbledon and even beat Pete Sampras' 14 grand slams' record.

Congrats Nadal. Your time has come. Now, Tsonga where the heck are you?!
