Spots still open yall. I think olowu signed up twice so ima open one spot (killrhymz) up lol https://yho.com/nba?l=65135&k=7136ee36288af2c5&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=59b97f5bd3b86612 I havent heard from abifoluwa or richard. Not sure if they are playing. If you want to join the league and we ran out of spots give me a heads up here and ill try to work it out |
Donlittle:Draymond is a kid. for real. Calling one the most respected players in the game stupid? When he finally calms down, how is he going to apologize and come back from that? This is one of those things I think Mark Jackson could have taught these guys that Kerr doesnt - be careful blabbing about fellow NBA players. They may very well be your teamate, or coach even in the future! |
joephemzyz:i tell u. abeg smooshchn take am easy o. na game o....already trying to wreck the season lol. |
SmooshCHN:my bad I thought I replied. On draft day, you login to draft room. you will see the link hours before draft starts. There will be like 10 or so rounds - in each round, everybody gets to draft their favorite player. These rounds continue until your roster is filled, usually 2 PG, 3 G, 3, F, 2C and 2 spare. There are 9 categories to compete for - points, assists, rebounds, blocks, steals, turnovers, FG% and FT % (cant remember the other 1 right now) If during the draft you pick too many guards like Curry, CP3 etc, you may be very good at the assists category, but your turnovers will suffer, and you wont have many rebounds. On the other hand, if you pick the big dudes like Al Jefferson etc, your blocks and rebounds performance will be good, but your assists will suffer. So the key is to pick a reasonable complete roster in all the rounds so that you can compete well in every category. Also, I think there is a way to do a mock draft so you can practice. If you cant find it via google, lemme know. Ill look it up Every week, you will face an opponent and you guys will compete in each of the 9 categories using your players. You want to win more categories than your opponents to rise to the top of the league. Towards end of season, there will be playoffs among top 6, elimination style. Draft day is Sunday 23rd, 5PM PT. Login beforehand to prerank your players just in case you dont like yahoos default ranking. I know some people want to pick Durant this year - good luck to you ![]() |
Skywalker5:ah bros, i removed the guy sharp sharp. that dude is a sniper.... . this time i even kept the league private - there are fantasy bball vampires out there lol |
tex25:boy, what a year to be a heat fan lol |
Seun:Honestly, I am not a mind reader. But having been agnostic at one point, I would say you are honest enough to confront questions on religion, and brave enough to follow the conclusion to where it may lead. All well and good. If more Nigerians, especially Christians had this kind of heart, boy, we would be in a much better place. However, same way you became an atheist, your older, wiser self may find other counter-evidence to radically alter your journey. Spending energy battling it out with folks on nairaland and elsewhere is a waste of time, and will distract you from your future discoveries. The heart is an interesting thing, and faith (not religion) is ultimately of the heart. And strife is a good way to distract your heart. I wish you the best bro, I just think the negativity that comes from your battles is a hindrance more than a help. I think on some days I have seen you on like 4 threads at once lol! You have no idea the heart condition of the folks agreeing and disagreeing with you here on nairaland. Nor do you know the insides of pastors or atheist alike - at the end of the day, it is between you and your creator. Save your energy |
Seun:brother I see you spitting fire on multiple religious threads at once. yeah, I know, you were trying to prove a point to the OP in this case by parroting what he said. but i think these arguments arent helping you - they are taking you to a place where you your objectivity, and hence your heart come into question. i think you should take a break from these type of threads. |
and welcome aboard lolawilliams and olowu . Draft is october 23, sunday at 5PM pacific time. i think this is probably the most likely time that works for everyone. We got 2 or 3 more spots!!! |
joephemzyz:yup its not physical. joephemzyz it looks like you registered twice lol. your old team and a new one...abeg remove the new ine...u wan do us 419 lol ![]() actually i auto renewed your old one, so you dont need a new one - check to make sure you still have control of the old one |
Folks, step right up! naira league is open for the season. Use link below to join - this year we have 3 disivisons of 4 people each to make things more interesting. If you had joined last season, when you click, your name should still be present. You just have to confirm you want to play this season. https://yho.com/nba?l=65135&k=7136ee36288af2c5&soc_trk=lnk&ikey=59b97f5bd3b86612 playoffs are towards the end of the season - 6 teams out of 12, comprising 3 division leaders and the next top 3. and please, skywalker and joephemzyz, no jazz this year . no more attempts at 10-0 |
Donlittle:lol. u saw this coming nah. The boy sold his stock while it was high - at lest he's got business skills ![]() |
A40:lol...tell them In other news, time has come O lord we pray ...is anyone intersted in playing fanasy nba (on yahoo) this year? There were a few hilarious moments last yearbtw, I look forward to ragging on gsw a lot this year ...muhehehehe |
Raziii:so you want this govt to drop what they are doing and join the wailing? Being in a hole is bad. Continuing to dig while in the hole is worse. From the old woman in the village to the worker in city, all of us are guilty of tribalistic voting - we voted GEJ in, dancing and smiling even when we knew he was so incompetent he wouldnt even debate Buhari! But he was a southerner, so who cares... Well, the same sky that lets the sun shine also brings the rain. Its raining hard right now, so all of us, old woman to city worker may as well grin and enjoy the harvest. |
Lucasbalo:He took out the older generals quickly, even his uncle. Unfortunately, it is very likely one of his new generals can be persuaded with money much more easily - no loyalty. If it comes to it, s korea doesnt need special forces - just engineer an internal coup. He did go to Paris for education I think, but it was only like 4 years? too old, not enough time for common sense to soak in |
Mizzzbeee:curry is dat u? 3 more rings then well think about it ![]() |
Did anybody read far enough to Dele's suggestions? Lol. With all due respect, this is noise making. The idea that Buhari should fire cabinet after barely a year is dumb. Did Dele Momodu think this issue was going to be fixed overnight? If Norway and Saudi with much better fiscal responsibility are having serious problems, why does Nigeria think its own problem will disappear overnight? My advice to the youth - the highest number of millionaires are made when things are the hardest. Believe me, foreign investors arent running away. They are quietly buying land and assets because of the weak Naira. When the next boom cycle emerges, Nigerians will be wondering how foreigners are running so many industries. While you wailed and slept, they were making strategic moves. Folks, this period where the already rich are confused and wailing s your chance to get something started. |
kenturkish:Agreed. |
Roland17:been under a rock...i missed that. just skimmed their speeches. moving stuff. except yao lol |
“Well, I think every decision is different. My decision to leave Cleveland to go to Miami and then go back is different from Kevin Durant leaving OKC (home of the Oklahoma City Thunder) and going to the Warriors. It’s different from Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal) leaving Orlando and going to the (Los Angeles) Lakers. It’s different from Michael (Jordan) retiring, coming back, retiring, coming back, and then going to the (Washington) Wizards. So I think every decision is different, and how much you have invested in that player, I guess, or how much you feel for that player is how you’re going to react. So everyone is different.”Lebron, when asked about how Durant leaving to GSW is different from leaving to Heat. Ol boy, the guy don practice this statement tey...no need to give ammo to fans that are already half crazy ![]() |
eruditor, shuo. na you dey write poetry like this? on top kobe and duncan? name fits na ![]() |
SIRcumalot:I have to agree. If he had half the attitude or personality Kobe had, he would have been the one drawing comparisons to GOAT |
RyanMontana:I am curious. What does it take to create one |
Donlittle:guy needs to talk less. thats how he gets in trouble. |
Donlittle:Interesting. I would first say that I think LBJ's generation has passed . I dont see him winning another ring in which he is the primary ball handler or offensive weapon. I think last year you could already see he had peaked physically.LBJ's generation for me is anything from Kwame Brown in 2000 (i pity Jordan for wasting time on this guy, lol) to Brandon Roy entering the league about 2007. Out of Wade, LBJ and Melo drafted in 2k3, I thought Melo would win a ring first, then maybe LBJ. If Detroit hadnt gone stupid, they should have won another ring by drafting Melo instead of Darko . Other superstars in that time frame:Dwight- i think the ship of greatness has sailed here Arenas - e pain me as thids guy take dissappear. fun to watch, talked a lot ZBo Amare - o!, if only joe johnson had stayed bwhahaha Yao - smhDwill Brandon Roy Bynum - may the lord deliver us from odaran draft picks ![]() CP3 Even P Gasol, even though he was a vet in Europe already. Based on the above, I would say LBJ bar none. Not just the rings, but the longevity. Gasol and Nowitzki are supermen, when you think of all the supposed superstars that have fallen wayside. Amare cant even hold the ball anymore.. ![]() Also, I think the current gen if superstars is Durant, Westbrook, Curry, James Harden, Demarcus Cousisns, Kyrie, and Kawhi. D Rose should be here too...alas ![]() |
SIRcumalot:Aminu and Gbinije (I think). I would add Ike Diogu to that list, even though he is not currently in the NBA, he can play at that level. Im not sure why he never stays long in the NBA |
A40:Iggy would never play for us, he was asked this q some years ago - he in no way shape or form identifies as Nigerian. Nothing wrong with that, just what it is. Like you said, if we get our minds right, I think we should be beating the second level good teams like China regularly |
A40:lol! i missed pretty much all the games. I did watch the preolympic game vs USA. Even though we lost, big, I was impressed more so by the team play than the scoring. Things are gelling compared to a decade ago, and I think the days of Angola et al being african champs are over. Nigeria is now taking bball much more seriously |
Skywalker5:muhehehehee....was not my fault o. that was supposed to be A40's spot I swear. Instead, we got a spirit - that guy was scary the first half of the seaon ![]() |
joephemzyz:time never reach na...im sure there will be one this season too. lots of payback to be had ![]() |
Donlittle:hahaha....bad market coming up |
Donlittle:agreed. that combo of scoring 2-3 scoring bigs on the floor at the same time was prretty much unstoppable. And the second year coach not only has the personell to do the same this year, he might even come up with new tricks. This team is at least a second rounder next year |
