Mizzzbeee:Obviously Westbrook made a good business move here. But from the press conference, it seemed the GM was willing to part with a little more quid than usual because he believed Westbrook's story about proving something - we will see in a year ![]() |
A40:notifying your compadre of 8 years you changed your mind at the last moment via text is low. yeah, durant has a right to do whatever, but his rep as a stand-up guy is shot. I would never believe Durant was capable of this kind of low down behavior, especially after that MVP speech he gave. And then, after the fact, Westbrook finds out that Green had been recruiting Durant all season |
in other news, westbrook staying in okc. I still find it hard to believe Durant would blindside Westbrook like that. Next season's thunder vs warriors gon be hot. |
A40:na wa o.... villagers don gather on top im matter ![]() |
Kenekene1:birdman fan here all day. But at 38, I wonder how much he can contribute. His major asset was blocking shots and scoring without any plays set for him, mostly by cleaning up missed shots or just hanging around the rim at the right time, even a fastbreak or two every game, and yeah, his D was legit. But I have to think his hops are nothing like they were 4 years ago. than again, he has always been something of an athletic freak |
A40:Yeah its extreme. Its the old fame vs fortune argument. Russel is nba royalty number 1 vs Tmac the underachiever. |
SmooshCHN:For where...i just found your comparison hilarious lol |
For all the pro-rings folk, question for yall. If given a choice you must make, who would you rather be: Bill Russell -11 rings -Salary 100k -NBA royalty, gets ovation and respect at every NBA event or Tmac -Got out of first round twice, no rings -Salary 23 mill -Wealthy business man SmooshCHN kids and rings abi? Dont worry, you changing diaper days are coming ![]() |
SmooshCHN:can you look at the arguments for once and stop personalizing everything about warriors? pure hatred? why na All I said was that the warriors have a lot to do with their popularity taking a hit, and I provided examples. Yeah, a lot of things the warriors do piss me off, but I never hate their skills, or team work. |
SIRcumalot:thank youuuuu...you put it well in one sentence |
A40:ol boy, i tire. in fact i try to avoid rockets news this last month - the moves make no sense to me. I see a desperate GM crunching numbers instead of using common sense. Obviously nobody has told Morey this is not a nba2k16 |
LoJ:good stuff. reminded my why I will always back any team these guys play on - 'cept melo who should never have left denver. I dont think he has ever been himself in nyc |
Eruditor:Bros stop it. The warriors used their own hands to tarnish themselves. From green's antics and kicking people in the balls to curry dancing and making faces on the bench to klay telling Lebron its a mans game to ayeesha tweeting crap everyday, there is plenty of blame to go around. Warriors are not the first team to win a ring, but they acted like it. They refused to get over themselves and kept feeding on the limelight. Surprise, they found out what every famous star knows, the same limelight that feeds you will feed on you. If it was cavs fans making all these excuses, we for don hear am by now |
Eruditor:season will answer your riddle, one way or the other. shikena. whats done is done - lets see |
Donlittle:west is deep enough to absorb this i think. remember the clippers gassed out because of injuries. mavs arent really going away and will probably make playoffs with a few trades. similar for the rockets. And dont look past the grizz - they are aguably better. The top 5-6 teams in the west are all deadly, and any of the top 4 can come out of the West. Lets see if Warriors utilize durant's length and defensive potential, or if he just becomes another gunner. Sad day if its the latter... @smooshchn, you raise some good points, but frankly, we wont know how things turn out until several players see their ppg and touches drop come december, january. off court friendships are good in theory |
SmooshCHN:true that..I keep forgetting noah is gone - i cant imagine him as anything other than a bull. |
SmooshCHN:I hear you. Ultimately its up to him - but remember last year I blasted Aldridge for doing the same thing with the Spurs. I didnt say anything about David West. Why? Early in your career, you ALWAYS go for the money. Ring/championship is something a bunch of billionaires invented to keep their business/game viable for as long as possible. If you play in the NBA, you are unltimately an employee. Simple. Durant chasing ring over career at this point is just as bad as what Aldridge did. I am not saying don't chase ring, nothing wrong with that, but for the love of God dont do it at the expense of your career path and big time pay - did you see how much Conley got?! Man, I wish more savvy NBA vets would sit with this youngn's and teach them what is real and what is not - get larger and get paid while you can!!! |
Skywalker5:I think so, but I have reservations about a Rose-Melo combo. Looks good on paper, but both kind-sorta need the paint to get going |
SmooshCHN:kai. why do warriors fans have to personalize everything. no i am not pissed. seriously. I really am not. just dissapointed. Even with his addition, the west is not a sure win for warriors next year (the spurs have another year to gel after all the new additions last year). In terms of what is best for his career, you and I can only speculate. But think about it this way - let me put what I thought his top 4 should have been Celtics - He becomes the go-to guy on a young but dangerous team, and the face of top 2 storied franchises in the nation. Instantly, the news will be about an LBJ-Durant ECF battle, for years to come. This was the team I thought would be best by far for his career. Mavericks - This team was one scorer away from contending last year. Imagine Durant comes in and they get to WCF - MVP on a big market team. I'd say his rep is made. Wizard - Backcourt of Wall and Beal. Again, he becomes the face of the Wiz. Athough he will share the limelight with Wall, Wall can be more a true PG and wont eat into Duran't points. Another instant ECF contender OKC - He remains with westbrook and the twin towers. Coach Donovan will only get better and they will likely get to WCF again. He left all these much better career options to become number 3 or 4 option on a 73 win team? Maaaan, this was a bad move. I am rooting for Durant, but this is going to hurt when it finally sets in for him. Worst thing is, if the warriors win next year, he is just another dude on a winning team. If they lose, oh boy.... |
Roland17:Riley tried to play hardball and it didnt work - he needs to understand the mentality of today's nba player. Supposedly he had the same posture with LBJ, which made returning to cleveland more appealing. So Luol is gone, J Johnson is gone too. I dont know if Bosh will really play a full season with health issues. Heat are done. |
rondo and wade together ...ewwwwww . With butler and a healthy noah, this is a very solid teamwait....possibly no more noah? man this is the most interesting summer i can remember |
Decale:what Durant did He could have gone to any team - he chose the one team he and westbrook had personal beef with. Before last season began, word floating around was that OKC felt they should have won a ring before Warriors. And that animosity showed in the WCF. Then you turn around and join them? That is like Jordan joining the Detroit pistons after getting flogged . Some things a man just doesnt do ...oh well interesting next season. durant's rep is done. and its unfortunate, because he has always liked to be the "good guy". What would even be worse is if the warriors lose next season again |
Mizzzbeee:yup. gotta take care of the fam first |
nairamaniac:I am a lebron fan, but nah, i think you have overhyped him here 1) Jordan's athlethism, leadership and dunks. - He is more athletic than Jordan was, by far. But leadership, no. He is getting there, but if you need to tweet to the outside world to motivate your team, you have some work to do 2) iverson's explosion and intensity. - No, please dont say this again. There has never been another iverson like player in both categories since he left the league. The closest thing to explosiveness was monta ellis in his prime, but he had neither the ball ahndles or the intensity 3) magic's passing/playmaking vision. - he is at least magic's equal in this respect 4) shaq's dominance. - nooo. you think curry would ever try to guard shaq in the post? Lebron is a beast, but nothing like shaq 5) Grant hill/ Scotty pippen's all round game. - I'd say yes, except tha his jumpshot has always been suspect. If he ever gets that down, game over. but he wont Bottomline, Lebron is a forward-center with deadly defense, great bball iq, stellar passing and decent ball handles. And he can knock down shots if you sag off of him too much. |
Mizzzbeee:i wasnt referring to you...my bad for not making that clear |
Anyhow, congratulations to the cavs again. Gutsy win. Commiseration to the Warriors - I hope they get the fortitude to handle this loss like gents...knowing silicon valley type guys that just jumped on the bandwagon, I doubt it. but its all good Time to take a break...ewuro4, lolawilliams and other cavs supporters...congrats for not only winning, but hanging in there in spite of the constant assaults . I throway salute oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ![]() |
kamel4real2015:interestingly, where was all the rigged accusations when they were winning last year. It just makes people who say this look like poor losers. You lost. Dig it, or dont. Go into the offseason and prepare for next year. That is what the cavs did. |
SIRcumalot:no lets not. LBJ plays great when he is under pressure, hated even. If Klay hadnt made those "feeling" comments, series would have been over then. We need all the pin pricks possibe to push this guy further |
Mizzzbeee:no doubt. i kinda expected curry or someone else to have cut her off much earlier - its hard for kids to see their dad ups and downs. Its terrible to see your mom being trolled by everyone |
Thank God for vindicating LBJ. My King James fandom has never been about his stats first He not only wins, but wins in a big way, against the most dangerous sharpshooters ever., on the biggest stage. I believe this is a reward for the under-g moves Lebron makes. All those community connections, sponsorships, symbolic protests when it wasnt popular etc.... my hats off to a black NBA player that knows who he is, where he is, and the significance of the position his god-given skills have put him. i can assure you guys, all the other under-g brothers...stephen a, chris broussard, etc are celebrating this win regardless of what they say on tv. |
SmooshCHN:she quotes stuff after every game i think. i personally thought it kinda made curry look weak to have your wife constantly barging into your work affairs. I hope after this loss, she takes a chill pill from twitter for real. I cant see why anyone would on purpose invite twitter controversy into their homes |
onila:its very tempting to attack ayeesha..she is wrong on very many levels. but this is not the time for bitterness. leave family out of it |
