Wahala dey o

Dame to the Bucks
Jrue and Ayton to the Blazers
Nurkic, Grayson Allen and Nas Little to the Suns

Kai, we were hoping the Blazers were going to be the conference pushovers. Now look. The West is deadly.
I cant believe how happy I am for giannis - this could work out really well

So according to Noah Lyles Dennis Schroeder is the best player in the world grin cheesy
On one hand, Lyles is right in that you have to play the world to claim you are world champions. Technically. Bu truth is if the 12 best nba players played at fiba, they would win every game by 50. So in terms of common sense, they are the world champs. Scrubs that cant get a roster spot are going to the China and dropping 40 on the regular. Superstars are coming from europe and having to learn like rookies in the nba. There are levels to this, and the world is still a level below the NBA

You would think he made a good point until you realize he was talking about the wrong sports. Until you realize that the NBA hasn't been using world champions for a while. But well who cares, as long as i get to promote my something. More power to him. cheesy grin.
Interesting. I didnt catch that change either.

I thought that show was noisy before but now it's something else. They hardly even allow Skip talk grin Plus Richard Sherman. Skip just sits patiently and allows them go on and on. Plus they need a bigger table cheesy
That was a sly social media play to get attention. Most of the time they wont show full table, just cut in to who is talking. It could work out, Skip is a good instigator, knows how to raise Irvins BP grin This a good NFL cast, but will there be another crew for NBA and MLB?

Rebuilding with Giannis is folly. They better trade him And blow up the entire team if it comes to that

This is where scouting counts cos the Bucks will need to find those late round steals
i dont understand, Giannis is in his prime for the next 3 maybe 4 seasons. why blow that up and spend the next 10 years rebuilding?

When I look at their roster, age and salaries of their core, a rebuild might be imminent and I think Giannis can sense that. This coming season may be the last time we see the core of the Bucks.

K. Middleton while only 32 has become glass footed and can’t stay healthy.

Jrue is 33, has a player option after this coming season. However, I don’t see the Bucks giving him a long term extension even if he opts in. He’d be 35 by then.

B. Lopez is already 35 on a guaranteed contract set to expire after 2024/2025 season. His minutes will become limited after this season, if not this season.

After this coming season, they absolutely have to go out and get a perennial All-Star caliber type of player to convince Giannis to stay.
these are excellent points. East is in a funk right now, and there is still a good chance for Bucks if they can clean up the roster. I dont like the 3 year deal with Middleton, but I guess options are thin right now
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:20am On Aug 25, 2023
Roland17:
How about Giannis sounding off a warning to the Bucks that he would not be a part of any rebuild now or in the future..

“At the end of the day, I feel like all my teammates know and the organization knows that I want to win a championship," he told the Times. "As long as we're on the same page with that and you show me and we go together to win a championship, I'm all for it. The moment I feel like, oh, yeah, we're trying to rebuild... there will never be hard feelings with the Milwaukee Bucks."

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38253377/giannis-antetokounmpo-sign-extension-title-commitment-bucks
why would the bucks want to rebuild? They will not get a giannis type player for the next decade, unless they trade giannis, tank like 4 season in a row and hope to get lucky in the draft. Because no all-star is coming to milwaukee. Rebuilding makes no sense for them.

If LeBron was a little more stingy with the ball like the other people on this list, he probably would have broken Kareem's record a long time ago. Do you know what it means to be no. 1 in points and no. 4 in assists? It basically means you look for your teammates almost as much as you look to score yourself.
You right. Thats why to me, the most important thing about Lebron is not really even that he passes too much as opposed to ball hogging to get more points. It really is about his mindset, and the drive to keep getting better each year, even after getting fat contracts.

When you see jokers like Harden trying to get max contract after coming to camp rusty and out of shape, you appreciate the true greatness of Lebron. Almost 40 and 4 rings, and the guy comes into camp like a sophomore with something to prove. Meanwhile some cats are buying shares in strip clubs from vegas to htown.

I rank Lebron with MJ, Magic, Jabbar, Russell and Kobe for that reason. Its not just dropping points and rings. Its also that mindset that comes with it. that lifestyle, that day and night grind even when you already achieved so much! Giannis should be on this roster before his career is over if he ever solves his jumpshots and freethrows. Game over for the league!

They deserve each other. Overrated player and overrated GM
Morey started out good. His use of analytics to make good trades was very novel at the time. But over time it became obvious Morey is very good with numbers, but his common sense and emotional intelligence is terrible.

For example the capela-covington trade that left us without a center. He had all the analytics on how it would help Westbrook be better, but it was obviously a dumb move. And it showed on the court.

Harden thinks he's still a superstar. He's overestimating his power in this league. He keeps this up and he'll be playing in China soon.
I think Morey may have promised him future max contract. But Harden needs to be honest with himself. Even with his paycut, he still earned too much for the rubbish he played last season.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 6:16pm On Aug 14, 2023
Harden is openly calling GM Morey a liar grin

See, I knew this day would come. Morey is responsible for spoiling Harden and letting him go to Vegas and skip practice with no consequence while in Houston. The parent that spoils the child will las las receive due reward from the spoilt child

Tony suffered the most under coach Pop, who was very hard on him, especially early on. I was listening to his speech and he said Timmy did not talk to him for a year until after the season he became a starter. Remember the Spurs almost traded for J. Kidd but Kidd decided otherwise.
I think it also has something to do with the San Antonio small market and ownership. If not for Timmy, the Spurs championships would probably not get a lot of attention. I remember even when they were winning, they barely got National attention.
Even with Timmy, they did not get a lot of attention. Not only was spurs bball very boring, Timmy D scored in very boring ways as well. Whenever they played the pistons under coach larry, those games would send you to sleep in the first minute grin

On Tony's place in the first 75 - truth is most of the rankings are subjective and actually nonsense. For example no one ever mentions Admiral. Dude was a legit option to Shaq, bested Shaq for scoring title once by dropping 70+. How much higher would Giannis be if he was in a bigger market with no accent? similar for Hakeem? Can you compare dropping 70 today to dropping 70 20 years ago? Of course not. You cant even compare the rings - free agency was nothing like it is today.

Here we go with our resident Tatum blasphemer. I knew you were a leopard when he was serving you Ls and you were rendering apologies..
seriously though, do you really think JB can live up to that contract? Jumpshots fall some nights, other nights they dont.

And when we needed him the most in the conference finals, he was the worst! I am a JB guy through and through but he needs to show up now!

Like show up and show out!
As much as I like JB, this is overpayment. He is not worth that contract IMO. He is not a cornerstone franchise player, we have had enough years to observe his growth and trajectory. Im glad Rockets didnt try to enter this matter.

And to be blunt, even Tatum is on the clock. I feel like he has peaked, and some of today's rookies and sophomores will eclipse him this coming season.

Just last month they wanted us to believe Joker won because he is Lebron plus Tim Duncan plus Kobe plus Magic. Not that he has a stacked 2 all-star teams in one roster. But I knew they would tire of self capping, and return to attack the real king. Issokay grin

I didn't bring this up because I wanted the conversation to keep going. If I had a gun to my head and they asked me who has more skill between LeBron and KD, I'd be willing to risk it.

But common, apart from the Celtics series, he's been quite efficient. cheesy grin. I know say Lebron dey the discussion but no do this.
it wasnt until you brought it up. Outside of the warriors years, when has easy money sniper been reliable in pivotal games in the playoffs. I feel like we, including me, felt the need to give him props so we could say here is the next best thing in the NBA. Aint that shot pretty? But he has not lived up to it. At all. Durant is a hard worker. And he is a baller. But he is not top 5 best in the league right now.

The more I hear him speak the more If it didn't dey, it didn't dey comes to mind
He needs a change of environment, I think he is too comfortable in philly. The process, or experiment or whatever they call it. Its over. Done.

That nonsense about being the all time leading scorer is simply a longevity stat. Alan shearer is the leading scorer in the EPL.
PPG is a better measure.
Imagine Lebrons physicality with KDs skill, he'd be the GOAT by now undecided undecided undecided
What skill does KD have, other than using his 7ft to jump shoot high percentage shots. Until last minute of playoff game. Then said jumpshot turns to low percentage. Na ask I dey ask o, no be sey I wan start fight for hia grin

That guy is not worth the hype

He prolly will have a yao ming type of career at best

And I a not just saying this because of your post
you might unfortunately be right. there is more to the nba than just skillset. If its just skills, Nowitzki would have been superstar year 1. There is a speed and strength component to the NBA game that is not present in any other league. When lebron came into the league, the hype was too much, that I was sure he would fail. But physically he was a beast, so you couldnt bully him, just play on his inexperience.

Wemby appears to have the same type of hype, without the requisite physicality to back it up. For that reason, its feeling more like a yao ming trajectory like you said. Which is great in of itself if the kid can do it. Kid looks like a class act, and I hope Spurs can figure things out for him
