A40:I have never seen two qbs gets more hype than they deserve in aaron rodgers and brett favre. They are great qbs no doubt, but they get the benefit of the doubt every time, even seasons they suck. The way analysts praise rodgers you will think the guy is in the superbowl every year |
LordReed:Cool! If prophet comes out and admits they were wrong, ok. It is the guys that try to spin it into something else we really need to be wary of. There is the holy spirit, and there is the human spirit, and even prophets have to be careful not to mix up the 2. This is one of the reasons the old school prophets, apostles stayed away from politics - you can get so emotionally involved it clouds the voice of the holy spirit. But you may not realize it because you think you are fighting for a good cause |
steady986:Really? I never liked that guy, even though I tried. He had that vibe, like a closet trumpist |
Daniel058:my thoughts on this exactly. i know the prophecies are not from God because of how increasingly agitated and belligerent these guys are getting. Raining curses, threatening war, where is the spirit of peace in all this? |
SAS talking about Sixers trading for Harden. Does he realize Harden and Doc Rivers can never coexist? They see bball differently And goodluck with Morey, Sixers. Here is to an "interesting" 2020s for you lolIn other news, dantoni has self demoted himself to assistant coach under Nash. When keeping it real goes wrong ![]() |
steady986:LA na prima donna. They dont like losing teams |
donlittle25:man, I wish . I don reach potty training stage...hmm, my people, I have come to Jesus moments every day And bible talk sey na blessing, ol boy ![]() |
donlittle25:I cant remember where I heard he drinks a substantial amount. He does have the look of someone who lived rough at some point, so it wouldnt surprise me |
A40:The foot soldiers like Rauf Aregbesola caught the hardships, checkout his early days and his rise to become a governor. There are dozens just like him, most are not recognizable household names, but they were the resistance on ground in those days when guys like Soyinka had to flee. And they now act as political gatekeepers and kingmakers. This is why APC has been hard to beat in many states, the operatives are rugged and have history of political fights from youth. The young agitators of today must read up on these people's examples, especially because some of them will be excellent allies, and some will stand in their way. This is 10 year, 20 year journey and we need to ready our minds for this. I say we because I look like a dinosaur to a 21 year old , but thats because they haven't lived long enough to understand what youth means. |
A40:He was poisoned to death, and his notorious aide de camp Mustapha confirmed as much. The most info anyone has on the culprits is that it was a long planned plot to off Abacha and had to have been in play for while to intercept the foriegn women who would brought to Abacha. Highest on the list of suspects are SW elements, with Diya playing some kind of role. Why? Because it turns out that when Abacha had arrested Diya for treason, there really was a plot to take Abacha down. But the threat was so vague Abacha could never quite pinpoint what it was, and Diya knelt and cried like he was innocent ![]() Many of the APC stalwarts you see today served some good jail time for protesting under Abacha, plotting ways to keep Abacha on his toes. Countless others died like fowl. See big men like Pa Rewane, etc taken out just like that. These are things youth have to be taught. The future may belong to you, but if you dont respect the past, you will repeat the same mistakes. |
A40:I beg to disagree Baba - taking out the IBB/Abacha combo and moving to an OBJ democracy was not a small feat for that generation. Even driving past SSS HQ back then, you couldn't even look at the building, that was the level of fear. Back then even big men were not exempt - if you were non-military, anything can happen. Today's youths have cell phones, which allowed them to communicate and we can see whats happening real time. By the time govt realized what was happening, it was too late to stop them. Back then, communication was via newspapers and TV, which govt could clamp down on, then use divide and conquer to tribalize everything. Internet has also been huge - now youth can see what obtains in other countries. Even when you try to go to fellow African nations and you see how they treat your passport, you return home with even more anger. Back then, most of us didnt really know how far behind we were. The biggest one that no one is talking about is the covid lockdown. It had the same effect in the states - restricting movement for that long allowed people time to stop being distracted and focus If there were cell phones at the june 12 riots, things woulda been different, most likely Nigeria would not exist. |
steady986:I know Lebron looks like he's in good physical shape, but they will need to manage load manage him from here on out. Real load management, as in old Tim Duncan style, not the nonsense Kawhi was doing. The good thing is his bball IQ is still league highest, his jumpshot is getting more reliable and he is learning how to mentally take over games at will, like Kobe used to. Lakers will need another pure shooter to keep up with Warriors next year. |
It has only been a week but it feels like a month. Im still on a high, I did not think a fourth ring could happen in year 17. I thot Rockets would take Lakers down in game 7...mumu me!! |
Cinacci124:Interesting... A lot to unpack |
Roland17:hahahahah, man this is a great day!!! I wish fertita had fired him instead of letting him resign, escorted him with armed guards out of the premises, and made him carry his own wretched belongings to the car. We had a good shot at the ring this year, but the dunce used our team as experiment. I wish one of our arch enemies, hopefully Jazz pick this guy up so he can destroy them. And I normally dont check nba.com in the morning o, izz like the spirit knew I needed a pick me up ![]() |
steady986:Nope. U saying I cant find 10 other PGs in the league that can score better than Rondo and get just as many offensive rebounds? |
steady986:Rondo wont work for Clippers. Those wide open 3s he got are for a reason - you would rather live with a Rondo making shots than anyone else. Any other big PG on the Lakers would have done the same or more damage on offense - even Caruso looks awesome on the Lakers. I'm all for Rondo making tons of money off of clippers, then sucking come playoffs ![]() The one thing a slower, older Rondo still has though, is that basketball instinct, and it complemented a slower, older Lebron very well during the Nuggets series. It was almost funny to see how they were taking advantage of a much younger team just through smarts. This is why I dont think Rondo would mesh as well with the Clippers - Clippers need to ressurrect the Indiana Pacers PG3, or find another gunner. If nothing else, I never liked the hatred Celtic Rondo had for Lebron, it seemed like he was carrying Pierce's hate. An older, more independent Rondo seems to have a better appreciation and respect for Lebron. I hope he stays a Laker. |
steady986:note how he skipped the eventual championship Lebron won in Cleveland. I actually feel sorry for Rob, so much unresolved pain ![]() |
Roland17:Too late bro, the pearly gates have been locked! Weeping and gnashing of teeth till next year ![]() |
steady986:They will find something else. Had Lakers won in game 5, they would have said it was too easy... As if when lebron got swept by the spurs in the finals, that wasnt a legit win ![]() But this type of gutsy win shuts up pippen, pierce, skip, whitlock...see as pierce dey stammer ![]() |
KNIGHTBlaed:He is like anderson silva. One injury at this age could shake him up. But as long as he doesnt get cocky like Silva did, he has another season or two in him. |
aliondo:Yup. Afterhis last laker exit, this is sweet |
steady986:I tell u. Sadness dey, sadness come dey again lol |
Woooooooo!!!! What must it feel like to be a LeKing hater ![]() |
on to the next one. I saw heat taking this game from beginning - no idea why green took that 3, when KCP has been hot |
xwolverine:They really didnt figure out that defense. The Lakers won because Lebron just decided he was going to force the issue, otherwise it would be 2-2 right now. That being said,Lakers have to feel good because they were able to clamp Butler down and stay ahead with all the bricks Danny Green, Kuzma and Morris were laying. Kudos to the coach on the defense - that was stellar, and it kept Lakers in the game |
xwolverine:lol so you saying this is a bad situation for spoelstra ![]() |
Heat need to retool for game 3. That celtics could not solve that zone defense exposed the starting 5, and Brad Stevens to an extent. On the other hand, Lakers are full of older gentlemen who have seen such many times. They also have bigs who can dominate under the basket. Lebron is a big. As is AD. And Dwight. 2 of those guys can also get their own shot, and are excellent passers to decent shooters on the perimeter. Zone busted. Heat may have to eat humble pie and stop trying to grind it out with the Lakers. Run pops out of breath, maybe stay close enough to win a game |
xwolverine:you mean liability on offense. His defense has always been solid. He is getting wide open looks on those 3s |
What is Pippen yammering about? Doesnt everyone have the same advantage being in the bubble? |
WeissVonner:I agree 100% on both counts. Ty Lue was not the right fit. I was happy when Vogel took the job because defense gives your team a fighting chance always. Ditto on Sam Cassel. How is everybody passing over this guy? Man I hope he gets this job! Ty Lue already disrespected himself, so any additional insult, he should take it like that ![]() |
Doc Rivers out! Man, his coaching got exposed vs Nuggets. Sad to see him go out this way. What happens to Ty Lue and co? Lue shoulda taken the Lakers coaching job!! Over shakara |
