Roland17: For some very weird reason we have continued to under estimate the importance of a scoring PG for the Clippers but make it imperative for other teams. Let me reiterate, no competitive team in the Western conference is competing without a scoring or high volume assist PG. The Lakers-Rondo/ Caruso last season, this season Schroeder/ Caruso Utah-Donovan Denver-Murray Mavs- Doncic Suns-Booker/Paul Warriors-Curry Blazers- Lillard Thunder last season- CP3 These cats provide high volume scoring/ assists. In the post season you need a PG who can put pressure on a the defense with penetration or perimeter offense form the top of the key because the game slows down into a half court. Relying on PG13/Kawhi alone will not cut it, not saying they are not good enough. I have been saying this for 3 seasons now but nobody wan listen. And playoffs are about matchups. Which means come playoffs, any well coached team with high assist/high scoring PG will give clips trouble. Unfortunately, half of the western conference qualifies . I think people forget the role Lowry played in the Raptors championship. |

They also have a very good offensive center in Thomas Bryant but they simply cannot stop anybody just like the old Wizards with Gilbert Arenas, Antwan Jamison and co Every time i see or hear gilbert arenas, e dey pain me how that career take end. Roland17: He played with a totally different level of energy, mindset and intention. He has to be remain super aggressive and be Steph, the rest will take care of it’s self. He mixed up his offense tonight and did not stop attacking. The biggest problem in my opinion is the conflict of their style of play because of Klay’s absence and the evolution of their roster. Didnt watch the game, but arent blazers notorious for letting you score and trying to outscore you? Lets see how the warriors fare vs stingier teams |

Android17: I am not saying Blake is better than Klay Thompson. I am saying when that roster for the Clippers was being set up it was with the mentality that Blake would be better. Blake was supposed to be better than Curry if you recall. The bottomline being that that Clippers "Lob City" team was built to be better than the Warriors in 2014. You are a basketball head on here so you will remember that the warriors were projected to be the 5-6th seed that year and many pundits predicted Lebron going back to Cleveland will win it all. So please, Curry does have his very palpable weaknesses some of which I have agreed with you, but making others better is not one of them. Let us give him his dues. I am not a curry hater, and I give him him every due. I dont think it is hating to point out that he is not a CP3 type PG. Just like CP3 will never be a Curry type shooter. It is what it is. I know Cp3 would do more with this current warriors team than Curry would, because what they really need is leadership, not shooting skills. Is this a criticism of Curry? Yes, but its constructive, and its something that if he works on can put him in a top 10-20 all time great. Just trying to argue that he is already as good as he could be is not helpful. Even Lebron had to learn how to shoot 3s to add to his resume! He will never be a curry or beal or ray allen type shooter, but he has another ring plus finals mvp off of it. |

Android17: I lifted the roster from Basketball reference as is. You can look it up. I respect you though. You had no argument to make so you hid behind Klay Thompson who was never rated better than Blake Griffin (the next best player on Chris Paul's roster). Blake was always injured. Every playoffs. In what world are you rating mr glass over klay. Lmao |

A40: John Wall looked very good in his return. If he stays healthy I don't see how he and Christian Wood don't help Harden to make some noise with Houston. I'm actually intrigued with this team and want to see Silas given a shot. Harden should see this season out at the very least and take it from there.
Donovan Mitchell though. That guy doesn't seem to know when to stop shooting If Harden is going, go now. Let's get pieces in place, maybe take a hit this year and get better next year. I am very high on Silas, but the Harden situation probably hurts more than helps. |

steady986: I don't know if it's just a coincidence that most teams who made it deep into the playoffs (or at least made the playoffs at all) last year have had some form of struggle in these opening few games: Bucks, Mavs, Nuggets, Lakers, Rockets, Raptors. And the teams who had the most time off, who are mostly underdogs, are the ones doing well: Cavs, Hawks, Magic, Pacers, Sixers, Suns, Kings, Clippers...largely unfamiliar teams leading the pack. And I see this continuing well into February at least, when the fatigue level kind of levels out across the league. And in a 72-game regular season, every win will count. I was just thinking this. The superstars that were in the playoffs have weird stats this year. Not bad, but not great either. Maybe best to coast and just make the playoffs, better than season ending injury |

We need receipts now. 19 Leandro Barbosa 40 Harrison Barnes 12 Andrew Bogut 30 Stephen Curry 31 Festus Ezeli C 23 Draymond Green 7 Justin Holiday 9 Andre Iguodala 1 Ognjen Kuzmić 10 David Lee PF 34 Shaun Livingston 20 James Michael McAdoo 4 Brandon Rush 5 Marreese Speights 11 Klay Thompson I like how you hid Klay at the end. Nice try. |

etidy: I suppose cp3 has led a team to the final since he has more multiplier effect than curry.
If curry was black skinned and had nigger swag like Lillard would we even be having this discussion We would still have this discussion. Lillard hasnt won anything, Curry is a 3 time champ. When you bring up cp3 not having a ring, you are really highlighting the issue. Would Cp3, Klay and Durant win a ring? Most people would say yes. Can Curry win a ring on any of the teams Cp3 has been on? Most would say no. So ring has little to do with this. Curry is a lights out shooter. He is a decent PG. CP3 is decent shooter. His playmaking skills will work in any era of basketball. |

Android17: I do. They just beat the almighty Kings having lost that same game a couple days back. Prior to then, CP3 and Harden beat a leaderless Warriors team in which Curry had 0 pts in the first half and failed by scoring 33 in the second half to still lose to CP3 4-2. Remember that useless Curry that lacks leadership qualities that qualified for the playoffs 51-31 under Mark Jackson? The one who won 67-15 under Kerr and a ring with all those all star players? I wish he was CP3 who won 3 rings with the wonderful Clippers. Meh, early season jitters to be worked out. Lets see them in February. The rest of your post doesn't make any sense, try making your point directly next time. Sarcasm is not really an argument, just so you know. Android17: Like CP3 did in Clippers and Rockets when they won all those rings. Gotit. He makes teammates much better. We almost beat the 72-win golden state, barring one game where he was injured. OKC pushed Rockets to game 7 last year playoffs with rookies and no name players. Suns are red hot this year. I know you get it now. |

steady986: I expect him to make the playoffs though, because GS will definitely be better once DG returns. At least he'll relieve Steph of the burden of ball handling and creativity, as well as leadership. The fact that you brought up the bolded is telling. Maybe Curry needs to be less nice and easy going? |

Perhaps you should go and watch the game against the Bucks. Be careful oooo. I think steady986 is talking ala CP3. Curry is a fearsome offensive weapon. But he has no multiplier effect on the rest of the team. We never realized this because having Klay with Curry lets the ball flow freely anyways. I dont think this is a knock on Curry anyhow because Lillard is the same way. And like you said how do you motivate a Wiggins? CP3 would definitely force the issue with Wiggins and Oubre, find them easy buckets and hold them accountable. |

He made the right statement and the media did their normal nonsense. the nba is a brotherhood. when barkely, sas, other players are calling you out on your bs, it means you have gone too far and you need to chill. kyries demons are of kyries making - people are talking because they actually care about the kid. Before he ruins his relationship with KD and is bounced around the league like Rondo. See how calm Rondo is now? better to learn sense before you burn relationships. this had very little to do with lebron - if he had done this to someone else, maybe it wont be in media as much, but other players will still notice. nobody likes snakes! kyrie change for your own good! father time will take your handles, it cant take relationships |

Imagine he had a horrible start to the season, you would see them come and tell you he is an Iverson wanna-be and a street basketballer who is lucky to win a chip. Na so!!! Kyrie doesnt really have naysayers. Other than lebron haters that have a pathological hate for the guy, i cant think of any player in this era people really hate. There are annoying guys people love to see get a come uppance, but by and large people love kyrie, even if they wish he would talk less. Most people dont have the hate to be following players every game hoping they fail. I for one wish Kyrie and Durant well. |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 12:13am On Dec 26, 2020 |
steady986: How though? Based on what you've seen so far (it's only two games) or based on the additions they made? I watched part of tonights game and it looks the same. Other than Holiday, im not sure who else they added. But Holiday is active on defense and is legit threat on offense. The defense is much better. Again I can see Giannis has put some work in. On the double and triple teams, he has more composure. Either he finds the right teamates, or takes a high pct shot instead of just running at the basket. He isnt smooth at it yet, but I bet its just early season cobwebs. Even scarier I see him attempting some back to the basket footwork. I don't expect him to become Olajuwon in one year, but this could really open up the lanes for his teamates if he gets half good at it. It would also separate him from the marcus smarts of the nba that try to confuse him in the paint. Still early though, but I like what see. Or maybe Im a Giannis fan and I see too much into 2 games |
