TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by birg84: 2:47pm On Sep 25, 2024
Good afternoon, I was at OIS office last Friday for my drop off and they refused to collect my documents saying I must follow the AVITS appointment which is not till next month, They advised I should not bother booking another OIS appointment for drop off but should just come on the day mentioned in my AVITS Letter. I am totally confused now that i see some were able to drop off with just the OIS appointment. Any thoughts on this
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by birg84: 8:00pm On Sep 18, 2024
No it doesn’t. The OIS appointment date is what is being used at the ois office. When I submitted mine last week at their Abj office, they did not attend to people that had the AVITS appointment. They told them they had to book a new appointment on ois website cos that is the valid one.

Appreciate this.

Markets open at 10am. Could be the cause of the delay. Cheers

Hello House.
Pls I was denied a US visa on Friday.
My question is Can I apply for Uk visa renewal now? Won't it look strange that am applying for renewal days after us visa denial? I'm entitled to paid leave to any country of my choice in my office and decided since I was denied the US visa, I can always go back to my usual London for vacation
Kindly advice.
Thanks a lot.

Completely forgot about the photocopy of int'l passport.
Much appreciated

Yes. There is a park close to the US embassy. drive in you will see people who keep belongings for others. But I think they will charge you for that.Though I do not know if they can be trusted, I saw other people keeping theirs with them. You can go with your car key. better snap your passport before going, 6 copies is 1500 or 2000 there. Also be careful of those who will ask you to make colored photocopies of ur int'l passport data page. Not a requirement by the Embassy.

Arrange your documents as follows

Appointment Letter
Ds160 form
Gtb receipts
photocopy of int'l passport

Remember to hold your original passport.

Hi all. Please is there somewhere @ the Lagos Consulate to:
1.Take the recommended passport photo?
2. keep your bag , car keys or phones at the Lagos Consulate or can i go in with the bag and keys at least?
I'm a first timer, pardon if my questions are mundane.
Thanks

Hello V.O.
I intend travelling in Sept. Can I enter the name of the hotel I intend to stay in as my U.S contact.
Another question, there doesn't seem to be the travel history section on my DS160 form, just US travel history in particular.
Many thanks.

Hello birg84,

You are not required to pay for a booking prior to travel, but it is advised to have a concrete plan for your accommodations. It is NOT advised to use touts or other friend's points of contact on your application as you may be asked about them and it will reflect negatively if you cannot speak about that. It is not required to know anyone in the U.S. in order to travel and many people travel with hotels or other such accommodations as their points of contact in the U.S.

Regards,
Nigeria NIV Team

Hi VO.
Am a first timer, though been a silent reader, intend to vacation in New York for like 12 days in July, however, my passport expires in August, Should i go ahead and apply with the passport or do a renewal now before applying?
Many thanks.
