BigkokoRep:I don't like Tinubu and will never support him, but simply can't deny he's a political gladiator. The man has won all his battles, sometimes against great odds. Now with the full power of federal might, and the willingness to deploy it it will be very hard to unseat him in 2027 |
slivertongue:Sorry but the numbers don't lie. PO CAN'T get enough votes in a 3 way race to get to Aso Rock. FACT |
If we were a serious nation firms like Dangote refinery would be designated 'Strategic national enterprise' and be entitled to full govt support across their entire production flow |
figment232:It would be nice, but I deal in REALITY. As bad as Tinubu's admin might be, the vast majority of the North would still vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket again in 2027 rather than vote for Atiku. This is just a fact. PO needs to rebuild the North-SE alliance that used to exisist and the only way to do that is to accept the VP slot to a powerful Northerner in 2027. Guys, politics is a game of numbers and strategy. If anyone can show me how PO wins in 2027, I'll be happy to reconsider my position, but as far as I can see, he's go NO REALISTIC path to Aso rock, based on the votting patterns and ethno-religous considerations. |
Ucheagbo83:Stop being EMOTIONAL With a divided southern vote the only way Tinibu can be defeated is with northern votes. FACT. The north will be kingmakers in 2027 FACT. If PO does not unite with Atiku(or any other prominent Norhtern candiate) then the North will simply vote for their candiate, the SE will vote PO and Tinubu (with the aid of Yakubu) will win by default again.FACT |
Omookunnimi:In politics there's no perm friend and no perm enemy. I would actually call that politics 101. Did Tinubu not inuslt Buhari in the past? Did El Rufai not insult Buhari in the past? Politics is a game of numbers and the only thing that matters is getting those numbers in order to win. Everything else is for kids. On this score I will always respect Tinubu. I don't support him, but I totally respect him as a political genius. PO could learn a lot from him |
ShallongeV:I am not being sentimental at all, I am being REALISTIC. Tinubu is president today, becasue he realised the Yoruba could not do it on their own and so went into aliance with Buhari and allowed Buhair to rule for 8 years. I like PO, I really do, he's got the right ideas for how to grow our economy, but the fact reamins he does NOT have the votes to get him to Aso Rock. Not sentiments, just FACTS. Nobody has ever made it to Aso rock while loosing both the SW, NW and NE. Nobody. it's simply not possible. PO votting block is SE part of SS and part of NC. Not enough to get him to Aso rock. Not sentiments, FACTS. He either goes into ailiance with Atiku in 2027 or they both split the vote again and Tinubu is re-elected. Fact |
The North are loading. The only question is if PO wil do deal to run as Atiku's VP. I know many people will object to this, but if you put sentiments aside, it's the only game in town in 2027. No prominant northerner will run as PO's running mate, and only an alliance of the North and SE can unseat Tinubu. |
Jeon:Its clear that the hard slaps Ogbemudia and Murtala gave the Biafarans at Asaba has been forgotten. Maybe its time for the next slap |
Edo no be Rivers! We don't tolerate nonsense in Edo state, you can't be in PDP and yet be openly supporting APC candidate. That nonsense may work in Rivers but never in Edo state. Our eye to red for all that! |
Very well done and congratulations. This is the type of mindset that is needed much more in Nigeria. Able bodied and intelligent will be spending hours upon hours complaining online, rather than going about ways to try and mitigate problems. Don't even get me started on the totally useless state and LG's. Imagine if those 2 tiers of government support primary crop production, the prices of many everyday crops would crash in a few months. |
Mr Lawal, please speak to your colleagues in Edo, Delta and the SE states to get some advice. In those states when bandits are captured, they do not go to any court. The matter ends there and there. |
The levels of stupidity shown by our policy makers is truly amazing. Raising interest rates only works on inflation in developed nations where people and companies do a lot of spending on credit. The inflation in Nigeria is NOT due to people over spending on credit, it's due to the currency being devalued and the the fact that the economy is import dependent. The only way inflation will come down is when importation is curtailed. The govt should by now have declared states of emergency in many sectors. For example why is everything not being done to ensure to that Dangote gets all the crude stock he needs to roll our refined PMS? That on it's own will be major game changer as it will bring down the price of PMS in the same way the price of deiseal has come down. in the same way govt should do everything possible to support the roll out of CNG especially in lorries and trailers while also ramping up the ability to deliver cargo across the nation by rail. These are the key things that need to be done in Nigeria to curb inflation, not raising interest rates sky high, which simply destroys small and medium scale business. |
We are becoming like Americans and British who have no respect for anyone who does not agree with us politically. I profoundly disagree with Tinubu on many things, and I strongly believe his administration lacks even the most basic of human compassion. Having said that I can only which him well from his fall and pray he has a full recovery. Human decency demands that. Let's learn to go back to the days of civil politics and not lower ourselves to the level of our opponents. |
BeeBeeOoh:Gentleman, Scholar, Diplomat Only a cursed country like Nigeria would vote out such a man in favour of brainless Buhari. |
Haha, that na courier from your village nau. He came to remind of village meeting this weekend ![]() |
The midget will go to court to get an order barring EFCC from investigating him. EFCC will appeal, on and on it will go, while the settlement is negotiated behind the scenes, Yahaya Bello style |
Rather than working around it, why not plant tomatoes? People should look to solve problem. If Tomatoes are expensive, go and plant! |
It all depends on various factors as many have already said. Are you single, married no kids, married with kids? Where would you live in UK/Nigeria? 500k in Benin, Asaba, Kaduna, Kano....is quite different from 500k 8n Lagos, Abuja, PH. Same thing in UK 2k on London is not the same as 2k in Sheffield. Bottom line no straight forward answer. |
I agree, we supposed to be practicing the Federal system. States and LG's are supposed to be autonomus. The FG can't declare what a state should pay as minumum wage, anymore than it can declare what a state or LG should collect in tax. Let each state set it's own minimum wage for it's workers. That will also encourage internal competion between the states as people will then ask, "if Edo can pay 70k, why can't Delta/Rivers/Kaduna/Kanao/Akwa ibom./Anambra/Lagos..... do the same or more?" |
Very interesting. it's definitly true in the following countries italy France UK USA Nigeria |
Where Edo leads, others follow! |
Since we have gone back to old national anthem, we may as well go back to old currency (Pounds and Pence) as the current Niara is totally useless. In fact let's just go the whole mile, and ask the British to come and re-colonize us ![]() |
If you really need to ask that question, then I am sorry for your ignorance They have all been taking care of and of course it's 'Their Man' in power. Let a Northerner get back to power and suddenly you'll see all of them regain their voices. |
Next they will budget N100 Billion for 'Re-Orientation of the new national anthem' ![]() |
Nothing good can come from Blair. The man is fully keyed into the Davos agenda. These people are only concerned with keeping power and wealth in the hands of a few global elites |
Agadinaagwuofe:Let me tell you, practically every state in Nigeria can pay 70k minimum wage. The problem with so many of you is your are unbelievably ignorant of the amount of corruption and wastage in most states. Did you not see the Kogi chap and how much he paid the America school for his kids school fees? What of Wike demanding 25 billion from Rivers per month? Obaseki as a seasoned banker has run the affairs of Edo state effectively. Long before now, he was paying 13th month salary for edo workers. It's not hard when you have a a governor that is focused on the welfare of his people. |
Paraman:What do you know about Edo State? His candidate to succeed him has been one of the chief economic advisors to both him and Oshimole for years, and knows the Edo state economic landscape inside out. Trust me Edo state is in safe hands economically. |
Sharia is only for the poor! |
Haha, Nigeria is a ridiculously lawless country. Why is the military getting involved in a state matter? |
He has said it all nothing more to be said. The best thing the obidiants can do is to totally IGNORE Soyinka. Treat his words and statements, exactly the same as how you would treat a mad man under the bridge. History will be very unkind to him |
They have come again. You can't cheat nature. These so called GM insects will come with their own problems. New illness will emerge across Africa as a result of this. |
