Politics / Re: Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu Accused Of Plotting To Disrupt PDP Primaries by bjdon: 9:02pm On Feb 20
OredoPikin:

Obaseki is doing too much
first, He denied Etsako PDP members the right to vote at the primaries by excluding them from the congress because shaibu is from there.

create a level playing feed for everyone and let the best and most popular candidate win.
there will be consequence with all these wahala he is creating
Philip shaibu is the kind of person that when he falls, he doesnt fall alone.
if he loose the primaries, he will make sure PDP dont win the main election.

with APC divided and still insisting on Idahosa, PDP about to divide, all that LP needs is to produce the rice man from Edo central and all these big actors in the 2 major parties will back him.
Obaseki need shaibu to win Edo for Asue.

If i am the rice man, this is time to start calling them together to join him
Rice man they know, Asue is new, Idahosa is just wasting time
Obaseki is a seasoned fighter. He knows he can't afford to play clean. Look at how Amode was dealt with. Look at how Fubra is currently being showed red in Rivers.
Obaseki is simply following the rules that you must hit harder than your opponents, if they pull a knife, you pull a gun. That's why he keeps winning.
Politics / Re: FG Threatens To Open Border For Cement Importation by bjdon: 5:47pm On Feb 20
What the govt should do is announce specific support for the establishment of more Cement compaines in Nigeria, via credit facilites and tax waivers. A nation of our size should have no less than 10 cement producers

Things are getting worse now, because people are starting to loose faith in the Niara. Business people are now transferring their profits to Dollar and Pounds, even if they don't actually need the FX. This is putting further downward pressure on the Niara. This going to get a lot worse before it gets better

PARADIZEPRIEST:
You ppl are not exporting oil as before to earn more dollars as most of naija crude oil money sadly had been stolen in last 8years waste of govt, with intense buha govtcomplicite oil theft,so stop importing nonsense into Nigeria and naira will be OK.
Stop importing nonsense e.g
STOP IMPORTING SHOE POLISH, NAIL POLISH, KITCHEN UTENCILS

STOP IMPORTING LUXURY CARS FOR GOVT PUBLIC SERVANTS,GO TO INNOSON LEASE BULLETPROOF SUVS ,

STOP BUYING STUPID FOREIGN BUILDING MATERIALS LIKE FOREIGN PAINTS AND POP

STOP IMPORTING USELESS FOREIGN FURNITURES

STOP IMPORTING NONSENSE ASHOEBE MATERIALS FROM DUBAI

STOP IMPORTING CRAZY THINGS LIKE HUMAN HAIR AND ASETHETICS
ETC
YOUR LONG THROAT FOR ALL THESE NONSENSE SHOULD STOP IMMEDIATELY TO STRENGTHEN THE NAIRA angry

CBN SHOULD CONTROL ALL FORM M FORTHWITH ,DONT TRUST ANY BANK WITJDOLLARS EVER AGAIN.
AND GIVE FOREX ONLY FOR NECESSITIES TO IMPORT MATERIALS AND MACHINERIES TO BOOST AGRIC FOOD PRODUCTION,FOOD STORAGE REFRIDGERATED TRUCKS,ESSENTIAL VEHICLES FOR HEALTH,LOGISTICS ,AND SECURITY VEHICLES ETC.ANY THING OUTSIDE THIS LIST IS ANTI PEOPLE WELLBEING AND ANTINAIRA.QED.
Buhari's govt had banned the importation of a lot of products to encourage local production. This govt removed the ban, which will lead to an increase in demand for FX.
The FG needs to place a very high import duty on items like artificial hair and many other non essential things that eat up FX

A day to the Primaries! There's something he's seeing that he ain't telling us...

Meanwhile, I support Ernest AFOLABI UMAKHIHE. He's proven to be a developer, even as a civil servant; one can only wonder what he would achieve if granted Executive powers.

Otherwise, I'd likely support a candidate from another party. All in all, it is well.
The APC candidate has already been selected behind closed doors. He's been promised 'Juicy compensation' so by stepping down, he makes it look like his doing a sacrifice for the party. He will be well taken care of.
Politics / Re: Frontiers For Democracy Calls For Support For Switch To Parliamentary System by bjdon: 3:25pm On Feb 16
SoNature:
We should be talking about resource control by states and state policing. Those are critical at this point, not changing the system of government.
1000% agree. With the issues we are currently facing, the last thing we need is a wholesale change of the system of the govt. Also we need to remember the lessons of the first republic. The Parliamentary system of govt can be very unstable.
The Presidential system actually works, but it needs to be done properly, and that means states and LG's need to be totally fiscally independent. Every state should have resource control of their resources and can pay 'energy tax' the center. Police, power generation and rail should all be state responsibilities, while high speed rail between states will be Federal.

For those blaming APC and president Tinubu for the hardship in the country, are you all aware that UK and Japan are currently in economic recession? Is it APC and Tinubu that is ruling both nations? Nobody should blame APC and Tinubu for the rot the PDP government of Jonathan caused. What we are suffering today is the result of the Jonathan government's recklessness. Peter Obi and his PDP gang brought Nigeria to her knees. May God help our dear president Tinubu to fix the country like he did in Lagos.
Its better to keep quiet, and let people think you are senseless, than to open your mouth and remove all doubts.

Politics / Re: Elder Statesman, Aminu Dantata Backs Transition To Parliamentary System by bjdon: 2:32pm On Feb 15
The same system we had that collapsed in the 1st republic. Nonsense
We just need to have a proper federal system, with the states and LG having full fiscal autonomy and resource control. No more sharing money as monthly allocation. That will force us to move from consumption to production

Simple demand and supply. We import practically everything plus we now also source FX for school fees and healthcare. What do you expect will happen?
The governors and LG are totally useless. Not one state in the country has an industrial strategy or an end to end agriculture strategy. All they do is collect and share monthly allocation.
The party has come to an end. Every level of govt in this country needs to focus on Production and not consumption, just like the Man said during the campaign

Politics / Re: DSS Quizzes Sheikh Auwal Shariff For Criticizing Tinubu Over Hardship by bjdon: 10:31am On Feb 13
As usual the discussions in Nigeria are filled with falsehoods.

I don't like/support Tinubu, but the truth must always be said. Tinubu did NOT remove fuel subsidy, Buhari did. The allowance for payment of fuel subsidy in the current budget was only till June. I am not saying Tinubu did not support and endorse the policy, but it was originally conceived and put in place by Buhari. Buhari knew Nigeria could not afford subsidy, but he was too much of a coward to do it while he was in office, so he set the subsidy removal to kick in when the next govt was in office so they would face the heat. Buhari was the WORST thing to ever happen to Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Tell Your Husband To Address Hunger, Insecurity - Emir Of Kano To Remi Tinubu by bjdon: 6:24pm On Feb 12
The Emir is not an illiterate, so he should know perfectly well why some offices of CBN have been moved to Lagos. Nowhere in the world are all the departments of a central bank in a single location. Why do we always look to bring ethnic sentiments into everything?

There is no sugarcoating the reality. The economy has gotten out of hand. The corrupt fools have no clue of what to do. Any action they take worsens it. The masses only have option now. People should leave their offices and shops and march to Abuja and sack Tinubu immediately.

This is to notify all Israeli slaves and their masters that, with their open cruelty which the world has witnessed, especially the youths of Palestine, something worse than October 7, 2023 is highly likely to be repeated in future over and over again against the Israelis.
And the Israel will reply with something even worse than what they have done since October 8th. Nobody has a monopoly on terror as Isreal is showing.
If the Palestinians have ANY sense in their heads, after this war, they should seek out Mandela like leaders who promote peace and co-existence, not useless jihad and violence. With such leaders they will be reach a sensible deal with Israel that will benefit both peoples. Failing that they can consign themselves to another 25 years of death and misery.

Very easy to believe. Did we not all see the campaigns? Why is anybody acting surprised now? Did Tinubu make a SINGLE sensible comment during the campaign? As usual Nigerians seem to think they can vote for incompetents based on primordial sentiments of tribe and religion, and somehow, those same incompetents will favour them. Many Yoruba's thought it would be 'business as usual' That it was now their turn to chop and clean mouth. What they did not understand was that Buhari and his goons have emptied the account over the last 8 years. There's nothing left. Even our oil for this year has already been sold. CBN can no longer lend money to govt. Everything don scatter scatter.
That's what happens when the so called President has an attitude of 'Na Statistics we go chop' and educated people still go and vote for him.

Over 12 bags. The hunger in the land no concern me. I am from an oil producing place. So, I am comfortable. I have a job that earns me around #400k; and I also have another work that pays me over #350k every month for doing absolutely nothing. All these are aside the allowances and other bonuses I get. I was recently paid some money by Shell for damages as their proposed new gas pipeline passed through my land.
I am not married and do not plan to do so as most Nigerian girls are useless. I still live in my family house with my mom in her big house, so I spend even a lot less. I want to focus on making more money and do my music for pleasure. Nothing concerns me with Nigeria and her madness. I have minimised my comments on the politics section. Agbadorians can stand on Bats manhood for all I care, I go survive. As far as oil and gas still flows in my place, I won't be broke.
You are wise beyond your years.
I simply don't understand why any Nigerian man under 40 would consider marriage. Spend your 20's and 30's building up wealth and enjoying a wide range of women.Get married in your 40s when you are established and can afford everything that goes with raising a family, without stress
