Politics / Re: Obaseki To Shaibu: Dropping Your Guber Ambition, Only Pathway To Reconciliation by bjdon: 3:32pm On Sep 27, 2023
Why is the black man so primitive? Did we not all support Obaseki when Comrade was trying to deny him the tight to go for a second term? Why now is he doing the same to Philip? Philip has every right to contest and Obaseki has every right to support whoever he wants. Let us please try and practice civilised politics.

Family / Re: Why Do Most Nigerian Men Change Towards Their Wives After Having Kids by bjdon: 2:30pm On Sep 27, 2023
YoungLionken:
That's not the right question, it should have been vice versa..

A woman is supposed to be a wife and a mother. But most women stop being a wife and only accept being a mother...

Louder for those at the back of the class!
This is exactly what I've seen in most cases. The woman becomes 100% a mother totally ignoring the man. Is it any wonder that the man's eyes start to wander?

If women only knew how EASY it is to keep their man. Just pet him now and again and ensure the house is a tranquil place, where he's at peaceand is well fed. Trust me that man will pet and care for such a woman to the excusion of all smallies and side chicks.

Politics / Re: Foreign Exchange Rates In 1983, Few Months Before Buhari Coup❗️❗️ by bjdon: 2:26pm On Sep 27, 2023
What you need to understand is that all these were actually incorrect figures. We keep hearing how Niara was so strong in the past, but the truth is the currency was tightly controlled and only a few people had access to it. Many firms had already started going out of business in the 80's due to lack of FX. If you wanted to travel the govt restricted the amount of FX you could take (It was called BTA, Basic travel allowance and you had to get it form the bank)
Those figures are just propoganda

Politics / Re: ‘I Will Shoot GDP To $1trn In 8 Years’ – New CBN Gov, Cardoso Vows by bjdon: 1:41pm On Sep 27, 2023
Extremely stupid comment, that he's got no way of achieving. Look everybody please get it into your heads, Nigeria's economy will only grow, when the basics are in place. Sufficient Power for industries, efficient and extensive transport infrastructure, and internal security. If all of these 3 things are not in place, then Nigeria CAN NOT grow it's GDP. No CBN governor can change that
Business / Re: There Are Too Many Nairas Chasing Too Few Dollars - IMF Rep by bjdon: 9:16am On Sep 27, 2023
Let the Naira Crash.
Nigerians say they are mad, they must eat foreign food, wear foreign clothes, must use foreign hair....
The market is the ultimate tool for behavioral change, as the Naira continues to crash and imports become more exspensive, people will be FORCED to change their consumption pattens.

RepoMan007:
The possibility is there for Naira to bounce back to around N700 a dollar but I believe it is tied to Dangote refinery firing.

That's the only major import substitution we are about to witness that can spur the Naira on. No other mean in sight. Harvest has come and for the first time in history, food prices barely crashed. Too much money in the system means people are using the new found wealth to stock up from hinterlands and selling at massive profit that hides the crash in prices.

Before our N100 a post agents arrive to blame emefiele for printing money, remember, Tinubu once suggested to Buhari we print money during the covid crisis.
Dangote is going to sell refined products in Dollars, so his refinery will not do anything to improve the strength of the niara

When will the youth rise up and protest against the high cost of foodstuff in the country?

When will they protest against the high cost of fuel, gas and commodities in the country?

A Dollar is currently #1,050. Are the youths daft not to see this to protest?

It's obvious foolishness has beclouded the reasoning of Nigeria youths! Foolishness taken too far!
Bless you!
It's quite shocking to see that Nigerian Youths can actually organize themselves to protest. They did not protest when they were at home for almost a year due to ASUU strike. They do not protest lack of power, lack of water, lack of jobs, lack of security. But one musician dies and suddenly see all of them all over country doing protest.
Indeed nations get the leaders they deserve

Politics / Re: FG May Pay N1.68tn Fuel Subsidy, Marketers Forecast N900/litre by bjdon: 10:16am On Sep 22, 2023
What a joke of a country.
There is no budget for petrol subsidy beyond June 2023. So that means the money being spent on Subsidy was not budgeted for that, and so it's funds that were budgeted for other sectors. Eventually more borrowing will be needed to plug the holes and that will put more downward preasure on the Naira.
IN some ways this is even WORSE than what Buhari was doing, because at least Buhari budgeted funds for subsidy payment.

What I don't understand is why is Nigeria paying for refined fuel? Surly all we should be doing is swap agreements with refiners (Until our local refineries are functional) Basically swap deals for example we send a refiner 2 barrels of crude, they send us 1 barrel of refined petrol. We should not have to be spending scares dollars to buy refined petrol

Politics / Re: How Goodluck Appointed Only Igbos In His Govt - Igbos Should Shutup by bjdon: 3:33pm On Sep 19, 2023
The honest truth is that what Tinubu is doing with all these Yoruba appointments, is the worst in our history. Even Buhari was not as bad, because his appointments were spread across the 3 regions of the North. Tinubu is actually doing long term damage to Yoruba interests. New aliances will soon arise between North and excluded southern regions. The Yoruba will be isolated if care is not taken

The curse that was placed on the black man, must have been using steroids, because na very strong curse.
With all the problems facing the country, this joker thinks its the religious denomination of appointees that's important.
What did Muslim leaders achieve for the Muslim North in the last 8 years? Hunger, insecurity, millions of kids out of school....
He should go and face Muslim governors to deal with these issues, and leave Tinubu alone

Politics / Re: Why Is President Bola Tinubu In Dispute With Son Seyi Tinubu? by bjdon: 9:47am On Sep 12, 2023
I can believe this actually. Recall when Tinubu won, his daughter started calling herself first daughter and head of all Nigerian market women. She has since gone quiet. I think Tinubu does not want his family to embarrass him and he has told them to pipe down. Even the first lady is very low key compared to previous holders of that position

FG is a big joke. Na so Tinubu go de shift responsibility? You take the resources from the state and share them peanuts but shift huge responsibility to them, are you kidding me? Even other resources that are not being explored are abandoned to illegal miners because you tied the hands of states. How dare you give them such big responsibility? Any serious state will focus on interconnecting all nooks and crannies the with good road from whatever peanut Abuja is willing to give them

I agree. More resources need to be allocated to the states and LGA's, so that they can take on more responsibilities. In all honesty things like Power, Rail, Airports, sea ports, should actually be states to manage. The FG is way too powerful and that's why nothing works in this country

Politics / Re: G20 Tussle - Nigeria Rejects AU Membership Of G20, Seeks NIGERIAN Membership by bjdon: 8:07am On Sep 08, 2023
The simple question is 'How is G20 Membership determined'?

If it's by Nominal GDP then Nigeria should be there as it's GDP is higher than South Africa.

If it's by Per Capita Income then Nigeria should not be there as it's per capita is quite low. In simple terms even though we generate more revenue then SA, we have a much larger population to spread that across. Per Capital income is a much more accurate measurement of a nations welath.

There were many great cities and cavillations in the past. The Mongols, the Incas of Peru, the Zulu...While it's important to know your past and where you came from, what's really important now is the present and future. If we do not invest in Education, infrastructure and create an enabling environment for investors, Edo will never come close to reclaiming it's lost glory

If you must refer to Benin, then can I gently correct you that Benin and Delta are Midwest. This contraption called South South just exists in peoples minds, it's not anywhere in the constitution. Midwest region was the only region created by democratic vote. . No true Edo person recognizes this 'South South' thing.

I however totally agree that Edo and Yoruba are about the closest ethnic groups in the south, we are practically cousins with lots of shared traditions(Although na Ijebu jazz get power pass our own! cheesy)
