dumodust:Thanks. Step by step we will correct all the lies designed to keep our people down, which is now considered as culture by our people just because of ignorance. We will get there one day |
Peoplesadvocate:Not in Alaigbo. The establishment of the so called traditional rulers marked the end of Igbo independence (I have receipts if you want). So they are mere civil servants. Those instrumental in the Development and security in Alaigbo is Ụmụnna. The best arm of justice in all Igbo communities is them, the best enforcer is the Vigilante service (ask anybody here) which is managed and 80% funded by Ụmụnna. Returning power back to them is returning power back to Igbo people and that will mark the end of British colonialism (both direct and indirect) on Igbo people. Something Britain and their Puppet (Nigeria) can't allow. So whoever promotes that (Traditional rulers) whose design is to keep Ndigbo down is against the Igbo nation. I argue with facts my brother |
See insult. After being in Arsenal for 8 years Happy Stay at home Ndigbo |
onumadu:Thanks |
kingawothefirst:Read my post again. This time, slowly |
kingawothefirst:LOL. You took the post of that Fulani girl seriously didn't you? Ndigbo had no contact with Morocco and no other West African people wear red caps. The few that do and others in East Africa do it as a result of Nollywood influence (one day we will talk about it here). |
Eastlink:LOL It is OK if you don't want to specify IPOB for some reasons which I don't know. I won't coerce you. But remember that we all witnessed MASSOB and Igbo territory was not their concern. The first person to break the barrier of Southern Nigeria being the barrier of Igbo land is MNK when he brought Umuezekoha of Benue state to peoples awareness. He made Ubani, Igwe nga/Opobo and Igwe Ocha/Port Harcourt a jingle although Port Harcourt never worked out. Just for reference purposes. |
OfoIgbo:No matter our disagreements with MNK, his methods or the range of his own map, we can't ignore the FACT that without him and his followers there won't be this Igbo revival we are witnessing. Him and Achebe are the reason for what we are witnessing today. We must give honor to whom honor is due |
Eastlink:"E gbuo dike na ọgụ ụlọ... " you know the rest. If you must criticise IPOB and her members, atleast don't go too far. We all have our disagreements, me inclusive but let us not undermine their importance |
Mrexcell:There is nothing, absolutely nothing like "better clear Igbo dialect" instead use "closer to the central Igbo" Stop this thing |
BiafraInc:Its not about language. They deny the existence of many independent towns by clustering all as Orlu. This is very wrong in Igbo setting. The existence of everyone no matter how small is vital. If someone is from Amịrị, let the person say that he is from Amịrị. If someone is from Umuaka, let him say with his full chest that he is from Umuaka. If someone is from Amaigbo, let the person be allowed to declare his Town with honour. Like the British described and I quote "In Ibo country, each person hails like a sailor and represents his district/Town" |
slim75d:Absolutely nonsense. Its like you don't know the meaning of "native" again. What you should have done or be doing is look for something that proves that you people existed in 20th century at least. So that we will know exactly when you people were dropped of from British ships. Not at Ubani because there is no proof whatsoever there. The slave ships, captains, Priests, Britain, British Overseers and natives kept records. |
Telm56:There is one thing you people need to understand. When pondering on historical information, please desist from using this I don't know who invented form of clustering people in what they call Imo State into Orlu, Owerri, Okigwe etc zone. It creates unnecessary division. BTW, Umuaka is different from Amaigbo. Amaigbo is Amaigbo |
Telm56:He is from Umuduruoha in Amaigbo, which is the HQ of present day Nwangele LGA of Imo State. Everything was well documented |
slim75d:And you were saying? No be only Perekule, na Pericoma
|
slim75d:Hahahahaha. You are really funny. The real name of Opobo is "Igwe-nga" Jaja named it Ama-Opubo (Opubo's quarter) in honour of Opubo Pepple. Now reversed to be meaningless "Opubo-Ama" Someone from a place called Ama-Igbo (Igbo quarters) like Jaja or should I say Mbanaso Okwaraozurumba is familiar with such naming. BTW, should I remind you that Jaja helped the Queen of England on her expedition in the Ashanti Region of which he returned with some Ashanti slaves? That is adding to the ones originally guarding British ships |
slim75d:Ask your parents how they entered Opobo. The same thing they did to our people will be what we will return to you people in due time |
Nyamiri:And what brings people that literally put Igbo before their name like Igbo-Etche into this discussion? Or Ikwerre? As for the names, we are talking about history here and nobody bears the name of another ethnic group at that time (talkless of that of none existing group like Ijaw). Identity was precious and guarded with one's life then, that was why people literally brand themselves with who they are aka TRIBAL marks. |
slim75d:Tell us the meaning of the words my dear liar. Opubo Amayanabo Before you do that, just know that his parents never sold him and he wasn't a slave. I will show everybody the receipts very soon. You haven't heard of Igbo apprenticeship system before abi? |
Nyamiri:General Samuel Chiedu Ogbemudia. Complete the name if you want to be historical accurate. As for the loan he took on behalf of Ika people, it will surely be repaid one day. This is why you can't see me regarding to Ika as my kin. They were before but not anymore |
Nyamiri:That line no longer work. We can't use because of useless Ego and surrender our land and people to British porters like you people. Better start making preparations of how to return to Ashanti and Sierra leone because I am sure the Fulani have realised from today's threads that you Ijaw people are not indigenous to southern Nigeria and as such have no ancestral claim to any of the land you occupy here. That is the repercussion of dragging land with Ndigbo, you get exposed for who you really are |
Eastlink:Wikipedia that we will change ASAP? I've been trying to log on to Wikipedia for the past few hours but something seem to be wrong with my chrome. Ijaw people have absolutely NO historical, cultural or linguistical backing to Ubani and Opobo. They are just riding on Nigerians ignorance, Illiteracy and hate for Ndigbo The Pepple house they shout about everytime is even Igbo, everything Igbo. They forgot that Pepple house traded with British and everything was documented from him directly. His ethnicity or country as the British called it was documented, his people documented. Everything |
Nwanyiogwashi:They lost the debate and instantly turned to unity speakers. Mtcheww... We are not even through with exposing them yet. |
Let me leave this here for those that can read. Ubani, Opobo, Pepple house oh and everything concerning that side have always been Igbo. Ijaw was not even existing then This OPOBO and Ubani case is the practical example of the statement "a small pen is mightier than the longest sword" because small Ijaw was able to deceive over 200 million Nigerians for 51 years with a little changes/distortion of someone's history
|
NairaMaster1:I won't say Hausa to an extent because what the Fulani did was simply altering the Hausa system, assuming the role of Hausa Bakwai (true Hausa) and controlling the rest of Hausa Banza of which Yorubas are part of. Yoruba is part of Hausa Caste system |
SlayerForever:Ijaw was not existing then |
slim75d:Ubani worshipped Monito lizard before the Easter of 1826 my dear stranger. Now look at the picture below. It clearly defines the demographics of the area, the owners, People's ethnicity and made no mention of Ijaw. Nobody doubts whether Ndigbo were shipped of through Ubani ports or not because the documents show the people that were shipped off, clearly acknowledging their existence (Ibo, Ibibio etc) as well as making clear who the natives of Ubani are. Nowhere was Ijaw mentioned showing that it was not existing then. The reason why Ijaw wasn't mentioned was because Ijaw was not existing at that time (early 19th century) Those that later incorporated Epie lands, Brass peoples land etc to form new Ijaw ethnicity were guarding British ships at that time. I quote "During the reign of Opubo Fubara Pepple (1792-1830) himself originally of Ibo descent, as where many of the principal slave traders, life in Bonny was rigorous"
|
slim75d:LOL. @ Swamp man claiming Igbo. I hope you can read very well, read the document below. Not only "Ibani/Ijaw" it is "Abani/ajoka" The document says "In Bonny, the Ibo natives have their own sacred reptile" If you can read, you'll realise that those being interviewed in the document are the same Anna Pepple, Jaja and Co life and direct. The way you people tell their stories as if they are myth beats my imagination. By the way, where is the guy I told that most of none Igbo words in Ubani dialect is Old Portuguese?
|
Davash222:No na Ihedioha get that title although the man didn't last long in office. Just imagine what would have happened if that man was allowed to complete 4 years. He will level Imo State and build from the scratch |
oyatz:No Ẹdo man bears Osakwe or Osadebe because it means nothing in Bini. Now you know. Forget the sound, ask about the meaning, ask Bini people before you speak for them. Thank you |
milann:Not exactly. Their dialect differ alot. Of all the dialects, the ones in Nigeria fall off with great margin from the ones in Senegal, Gambia, Mali and Guinea. This is because like Hausa , Mandinka is a language that spans across many countries just like swahili. So the incorporation of Hausa to Nigeria fula and that of Mandinka to Guinea and Mali Fula resulted in great margin in the dialect but they can still pick some words thus understanding themselves to a limited level |
Ariani:Gbam. You know what you are talking about |
