Coronabirus:Spoken like a true Northerner. I miss this attitude |
Pimpmaride:You just blew your cover, you are among the 98%. One of their trademarks is extending bitterness and curses. Please, quote someone else. I am very sorry for disturbing you (if you feel so) |
Pimpmaride:If I've not been to Kwara, I would have swallowed some lies here that kwara is a Yoruba state. Only those that has been there knows the boundary between share and tsaragi |
Pimpmaride:There is a difference between "been to" and "live at". Nigerian graduates never disappoint . As for travelling, it's in my DNA as an Igbo man and I can't apologize for it. It's rare, if not impossible to see an Igbo man of above 25 years that has not travelled out of Igbo land at one point in his youthful life |
Haywhysat:All of them answer to the emir of Ilorin just as most of the nupe emirs answer to the emir of Lafiagi |
Pimpmaride:Yes I am IGBO and I have been to kwara, but can the latter be said about you? Everything in life is not deliberated based on assumptions. Travel and see. It's a shame that an Igbo man from far away igboland has been to kwara but a Yoruba man that it's in her backyard still describe the place based on assumptions |
middlebelter:He is just returning the yorubas favour. The yorubas always berate here that speaking a language, having the same culture and bearing same names doesn't make a particular group a member of a larger ethnicity if the group is not in their region |
Mraphel:You are not far from the truth but you cannot be totally lost if you can speak hausa or Nupe. One thing I noticed about Kwara yorubas is that even though it appears as if they lost everything yoruba, they don't look like people that are ready to lose their yoruba language,. Those guys can customize every language to yoruba, including some of their Arabic names like Sadiq to sadiku, ramatu and so on |
Pimpmaride:You witnessed ordinary school association and you are throwing insults in what is supposed to be a civilized discussion. Don't carry this your mentality to kwara because you will be shocked. Kwara yorubas respect their islamic religion above anything else and they have undiluted loyalty to their emir who claims allegiance to the caliphate. Kwara is not all about yoruba anyway, they have indigenous Nupe and settled fulani |
J111333:This thread is exposing the true colour of the chameleons |
Pimpmaride:He is not lying, I've witnessed it first hand between a Yoruba from Kwara and another yoruba from South West, although the western yoruba guy baptised him that day. Guy you really need to travel to that Kwara and see things for yourself before assuming. Kwara is ruled by fulani using Nupe as their side kick |
With the way things are in Nigeria, sometimes I ask my "between Igbo and Yoruba who lost the Civil War?". Atleast Ndigbo managed to retain 70 percent of their territory and 25 percent govern where they found themselves, eg Delta and Rivers. With western Igbos still pushing for Anioma state. Imagine, you didn't participate in the Civil War and your ethnicity was torn into pieces with state creation when you are supposed to be at the helm of the affairs of the nation with the supposed Victors. For those thinking that yoruba people in Ilorin will ever be part of yoruba nation again, just leave your house, travel to kwara state and see for yourself. The okun people of kogi have a bigger chance of making it to the yoruba nation than kwara yorubas |
wizzakosh:I've never typed that name here and I don't intend to do for now. Everybody can't be mad at the same time |
Do you guys think that the yorubas castigating and making derogatory remarks on the Igbos Biafra struggle is because they want you to stay with them? If you think so then you are a novice in Human psychology and behavior. The yorubas are sub consciously behaving like that because they don't like the pace at which the break up is going. Since they can't champion one they make those infuriating comments is to provoke and make Ndigbo to push for the break up at a faster rate because they believe that once the Igbos go, they will follow suit just like the dissolution of Soviet Union. They even believe that in any case of referendum, it will be nationwide for all parties, that is why they rushed to register their Odua nation with Biafra at UNPO. From my years of studying human behavior I'll say "if someone wants to stop doing something he ignores you, if he wants you to continue, he tries to stop you but if he wants you to go at a faster rate, he attacks your ego" women are masters of the last one. Now ask yourself, which of these does the yoruba fall under. I'll say the last one |
wizzakosh:Knowing the name of Nigerian governors has to do with intellect and awareness not obsession |
gwafaeziokwu:Nna, the alliance I am talking about is not that kind of brotherly one. The fulani know that ala igbo is a nọ go area for them and they don't care if they secede or not, their fear is yoruba land and Niger Delta. Nwanne at times you strike deal with your worst enemy if it will benefit you just like the Romans did with the Goths or the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan did with Israel. Ndigbo should try to be selfish for once and offer never to intrude on fulani affairs on ijaw land, Yoruba and middle belt and watch secession go easily. What do you think prompted fulani controlled Nigeria to enter fully in the last civil war? It was the Igbos dream of liberating Yorubaland. The fulani cared less when Ndigbo liberated mid west because it has nothing to offer them unlike now ijaw has oil. So I'll say it is better to sacrifice ijaws, ikwerre and yoruba for the greater good |
wizzakosh:This is exactly what I am saying. The obsession is glaring, you can even list the name of some Igbo clans and attempt the history of some but can barely do the same for your ethnic group |
gwafaeziokwu:Your head dey there. Empires are not built on sympathy and egalitarianism. Ndigbo should have open mind on whom we extend our arm to this time around. Based on my travels and interactions with notable people from all regions, I'll say that Ndigbo should consider an alliance with the fulani because the fulani are scared of losing their only source of economic prospect in case of referendum which is Lagos. Their fear is that if Ndigbo succeed in getting this referendum it will expose the ethnic distrust and conflicting ideologies of Nigeria which will lead to peaceful secession of more ethnic groups, especially the yorubas and they will rather fight to death than allow yoruba break free from them. So a deal with the fulani to never intrude in their hegemony on the yorubas, ijaws and middle belt should be what Ndigbo should attempt proposing. The Fulani already know that Ndigbo is a thorn in their flesh and any attempt to tie them down further will lead to more destruction unlike some people that are hoping to gain from the Igbos bravery. As it stands now, Nigeria herself knows that the forced attachment of Igbo to Nigeria is long overdue and very soon it is either the Igbos leave in peace or in pieces |
wizzakosh:See how easy it is for him to list "Igbo caste" but barely knows a thing about yoruba apart from his state of origin and Lagos. This guy can list up to 40 Igbo towns without cyber aid but can barely list 20 yoruba towns apart from those in his state of origin |
Ndigbo should desist from fruitless and backstabbing alliance. Remember our alliance with our so called brothers ikwerre and how it ended with abandoned properties, ethnic denial and 70 years of insult? A wise man never repeats the same mistake twice. We should try and be like Switzerland on this and allow middle belt and their former allies the fulani to sort things out. Maybe after they are through killing themselves, we will form alliance with the last man standing. Let's be wise this time and avoid being caught in the middle because if we MUMU, last last middle belt and fulani go use us settle their matter |
If you read through the comments on "Gana's" execution you'll realize how divided Nigeria's major three ethnic groups are based on ideology and reasoning. If you see a comment castigating the government for killing an unarmed surrendered individual that person is likely (98%) an Igbo. If you see a comment that celebrates the killing and still tag "kill them all", that person is most likely (95%) Yoruba. If you see comments (which are probably few here) defending the soldiers and accusing Gana of being behind the killings attributed to herdsmen, the person is very likely (99%) Hausa-Fulani |
I wonder how you other Africans and some ignorant Nigerians think that people that have time to clothe their ancient sculptures will be so daft to go naked. The first picture is Ikenga from Igbo. The second is Oba from Ife, Yoruba. The third is from Bini. Mind you, these sculptures are centuries before contact with the white.
|
WannaHowzit:Read about Nigerian ethnicities, what you posted there is just two out of the major 3 in 250+. Mind you kano has been a major textile industry in the ancient times before the Dutch (Boers) came and tied those animal skins around your ancestors waists |
This us by far the most reasonable and unbiased post I've seen on nairaland |
Attack without meeting the person physically, is that one an attack? Instead of these MUMU people to be disturbing us on social media and papers they should contribute money and fly prof. Ishaq Akintola to the United States to attack president Trump physically or verbally. I can't predict the outcome but I know one thing for sure, flying Ishaq Akintola to the US to attack Trump will relieve Yoruba Nation and Nigeria at large. By the way WTF is that guy wearing on his head? |
zhike:LOL, I'll rather go naked than wear this. This your post is too funny ![]() |
You wrote a fascinating article to prove awolowos innocence and demonize Ndigbo and the great Zik Africa. But what I picked from your article is an Awolowo of a man who introduced ethnocentric politics and nepotism in the name of forming alliance. Why would celebrate appointing sensitive posts to allied politicians with no regards to meritocracy. There is a popular say amongst the yorubas that "Igbo no Sabi politics" but your article says otherwise, it even portrays the Igbos as master planners in politics. To you people the Igbo man is everything. I don't know why you guys attribute the power of almighty to us because it is only the almighty can be everything at the same time. |
Sometimes I just look at you yorubas and shake my head. Yesterday one of your brother was claiming that Zik said he and Onitsha are Bini but today you wrote a long epistle of how Zik was fighting for Igbo over lordship on yorubas to the extent he planned on putting an Igbo king on yorubas when the Oba of Bini is nearer. According to you, "Zik and his Igbo kinsmen". Chai I've never seen such dynamic chameleons.

GarangDeMabior:LOL, ụmụ iyoo ana agukwanụ akwụkwọ? Anyways, Igbo AMAKA there! |
Kudos! It's high time we started taking our lives back from these religionists. Well, thanks to the Churchists for the good things they have contributed to us |
I thought things like these are reserved for South East. May the victims find the courage to bear their loss |
