Jdbrasco2:That is it, I won't give some people the honour of replying them. A wise man once said that 95% of the world's alleged sane population are morons |
Jdbrasco2:Finally someone with common sense not all these Bbnaija addicts that think everything ends with nairaland likes |
Chii59:Thank you |
victorjoe:This is why people fail exams, read to the end before you castigate. Half knowledge is worse than none. If something like this were to happen to somebody close to even a friend to me, I will go to the edge of earth to ensure that justice was served without it being on papers or nairaland front page |
Xisnin:Yes, from the psychiatric ward of reasoning. Where will you be when the girl will have to face the stigma? Unlike you I don't do kids or teens. Not even the ones late teenage years (18 and 19) |
ceeceeuwa:Reread my post slowly and don't rush to insult |
favourume:Read the modified post |
Try to reason from the husbands angle. Remember there are three sides to a story, I don't believe the woman's accusation that the husband took bribe from the rapist ( especially an allegation from Christians that are known Liars than a statement from a traditional worshipper that knows the implications of lies and injustice). The man is just trying to safe guard his daughters image and future and avoid making life a living hell for her. I believe he has his own way of getting justice because if not I'll say he is a slowpoke, a big fool and a fellow pedophile. The woman is just a disobedient and stubborn wife, now the whole world has known that her daughter of 8 years old likes having sex with an old pedophile, though it's constitutionally rape but the way it's reported it sounds as if the girl was coerced and she enjoys the act. She should have been smart and meet the necessary authorities to get justice without her name, family or that of daughter appearing in news like this. Now, the innocent girl will have to live with the stigma for the rest of her life. This is why I advise women that no matter the anger, I know we are humans and sometimes our emotions get ahead of us not to publicize it to irrelevant people, meet the necessary authorities and remind them to handle it without publicizing your family or daughters name to avoid stigma. |
"Olawoye" you won't see them here to mourn their loss, they are busy in Igbo females child inheritance thread. They don't value their tribesmen lives. Well, may his soul rest in peace. I respect any man that dies for what he believes in. He believed in the integrity of Nigeria and he paid the Supreme price |
Is Rivers state no longer in South south? Is Rivers state no longer in Niger Delta? Didn't we agree here that South South people are not Igbos? What brought Igbo to this discussion and threats? This confirms the old Igbo adage that "ozu sibe isi, ezi oyi ka nwanne alaa" this means "when a corpse start smelling, the good friend that you think is better than a brother goes home and leave the brothers to Carter for it". Where are our "we the Niger deltans"? Where are south south crew? Where are the Bini Akalaka history revisionists? Where is ikwerre? Where is Delta Igbo crew? Where is Niger Delta Republicans? Where are all of you now that push is about to turn to shove to defend irate youths and Rivers state at large when threats and fights are about to emerge? It's now left for the Igbos (their true brothers) to handle it. All the threats here by the Northerners and western busy body here are directed squarely to Ndigbo, I didn't see any to South South and Niger Delta. And if you read through the comments you'll see Ndigbo defending with their blood and life (irrespective of what the people of South south have said about them) for the supposed "non Igbo" people of Rivers, while the others that will give you 10,000 reasons why Igbos in South south are not Igbo. I'm yet to see a South south monger (whether ijaw, Bini, urhobo, itsekiri, ibibio, Efik) or even Yoruba defend the people of Rivers in this. So called Delta Igbos and south south Igbos, make una wise o |
Please you people should not fight what you don't know. I believe the judge have her verdict based on what she learnt from nollywood without regards for the Igbo culture. In the Igbo culture ( ask your parents this if you are Igbo), the first person to receive inheritance is the female child on her wedding day, where her own share of material things will be given to her by her parents ( if you are Igbo, ask yourself mother to show you where hers is, because I know people that started good businesses with thiers), the only thing that a female child does not partake is ancestral lands which is for homogeneity sake and mind you those laws were like that because then it is believed that a woman should have married before her brothers fully mature unlike now that we have over grown spinsters roaming the streets. Now to balance for her not partaking in her father's ancestral land, the Igbo female child is the first to inherit her husband ( ask your mother this if you are Igbo), she inherits her desired portion of her husbands ancestral land and her fair share of material things which she keeps till she die which then goes to the LAST MALE CHILD (ask your mother this). But incase the woman died before her husband all her supposed shares which I listed above goes to her daughters of which they share the material things and leave her land to the last Male child. That is why in Igboland we say that the heart of a mother is tied to her last son. Listen carefully, if the woman is highly successful in the sense that she became wealthy, when she dies all her wealth is shared between her daughters and her last Male child, which in most cases the daughters sometimes take her female belongings and leave almost 80% of her wealth (by choice) for the last male child. The other male children don't partake in this. It is important to note that the Obi is reserved for the first male child. While the other ancestral lands are shared among the other males, then the material wealth is shared by all (in reasonable ratio because most times the females leave them for their brothers to empower them to grow their family name financially which gives them bragging rights and in some cases protection from being treated like tags in their husbands family, you can't beat daughter of a wealthy family in igboland and go scot free) , including the unmarried sisters who are most times ashamed to partake. I was a life witness when one sister was crying profusely because they included her in inheritance, because to her they see her as a male who can never get never get married and accused her brothers of using that medium to insult her |
DuwaRepublic:You forgot to reason like a human being in your rush to insult Ndigbo. Now tell me whether your "Dr Bala Usman" have any right to define the origin of an ethnicity he is not part of? Mr. Intelligence. Next time think before you insult |
MelesZenawi:You've said it all. Igbo is the only ethnicity with the name attached to her towns before the days of the white men. Didn't jaja of opobo say he was from "Amaigbo". Yorubas think they can tell our history. Speaking of self esteem |
MelesZenawi:I can see through this post. It's filled with hate and wickedness, it's a simple pager to discredit the unity of Ndigbo and bring discord among us. I wonder why yorubas think they can tell Igbos history |
Religious fanatics shey una dey see her hair? See how happy and beautiful she is |
Nice one from the Abokis. Arrewa jumping into this thread like
|
"choke me, choke me" gone wrong |
Igbochief001:This is becoming confusing. We have been cleared on this forum that there are no Igbos in Rivers state and south south at large but when push comes to shove like what happened yesterday when some alleged youths from oyigbo in Rivers state allegedly killed two hausa the same hypocrites that will give you 5000 reasons why some people that speak Igbo in South south are not Igbo starting raining hell on Ndigbo even Mr. Arrewa that calls Igbos attachee by force starting threatening reprisals on "Igbos" in the north with our western brothers that will call you derogatory names if you call any south south Igbo fanning it. None of them accused "delta Igbo", none of them threatened "Niger Delta", I didn't see anybody text "ikwerre" or "Rivers Igbo", "Anioma" or "Bini" All they threatened was "Igbo". I've never seen such hypocrisy |
Whose land are they planning to grab this around? |
Now this is what I call development. Development engineered towards securing the future of the unborn not celebrating exploitation of natural resources, imagine solid minerals. Not just solid minerals but radioactive uranium that its mining is known to cause genetic mutation. |
kokomilala:Light years apart of the "chest beating" race you say. Below are Hill top nice pictures of Abeokuta and Enugu of the "chestbeating race" without naming them, you can identify abeokuta and Enugu and see who is light years apart. Mind you, they are not banter pictures but astonishing pictures from both sides. Just for fun, can the readers try identifying the picture. Text 1 for the first picture with the name of the city and 2 for the second with the name of the city. Let's know how well you know your region.

wizzakosh:No musician from their tribe dares sing against the government? So African China that is from Imo state, Psquare and that Nigga raw is from your tribe .Maybe your too young to know this, African China is the crooner of "food no dey". Psquare from Anambra State is the crooner of "why e be say". That Nigga, "obodo e delugo" |
Nice one, I like the standing arrangement. Religious leaders to the right and traditional leaders to the left to avoid katakata before somebody go punch person by mistake. Anyways, Igbo AMAKA!

Fulfilled. Unlike feminists that shove things down the throat of men, I never expected everybody to understand my post, especially those that are not business oriented and have zero regards for philosophy |
I strongly condemn equal pay and reserved position for any gender. It is cheating in disguise, no matter the circumstance two people can not give the same input in anything. I am an advocate of meritocracy and pay according to your performance and relevance, if the female football are more relevant than their male counterpart, they should receive higher pay but if they are not, they should enjoy whatever pay they get. If this equal pay where to be allowed to grow, tomorrow everybody in European clubs will be campaigning for equal pay and you will see somebody like Lingard or Iwobi expecting to have equal pay with Messi and Ronaldo. This thing needs to be scraped now before it grow wings like boko haram |
I have no issues with them, I believe every human has the right to do that which makes him or her happy as far as it doesn't hurt others. From what I can see, gayism is least of the world's problem, it is OK so far they don't rape or coerce straight people. I support happiness |
flyingpig:Igbo Amaka is not a nairaland phrase. It is a slogan first used for town by the indigenes of Okija in Okija Amaka, Okija business men in Okija Amaka ventures before being incorporated to include all Igbos in Igbo Amaka. Igbo Amaka is arguably the current motto of Ndigbo globally, though it is greeted by hate and phobia by sone ethnic groups in Nigeria. Igbo Amaka itself means no harm, it simply means Igbo is too beautiful or Igbo is extremely beautiful. If you don't mind, allow me to shout Igbo amaka. Igbo AMAKA!
