Crass stupidity. By the way, what are you doing arguing so much about a country you have no idea about? It makes you very silly because you argue blindly. You have never even been to Lagos in your life. Probably one of those hood rats sleeping on the A train all day. I know your A train is your hide out and your home. It can only be suitable for animals like you, who have no life but to sit on the internet throwing insults like a mental case. GTFOOH, fu*cking low life. You have nothing to do with your life, than to talk about Nigeria? Anyway, my last word to you on NL. Not much can be expected from a dude that answers "Babe". ROTFLMAO.

Wow! So, the next line is : when losing an argument, carry on like a mad-man instead of presenting a better, and more convincing rebuttal?!

If I was a "Low-life" I wouldnt be LIVING IN NY and you WOULDNT be VISITING---supposedly (Still dont believe youve ever been out here. Sounds like u seen a lotta NY based movies tho)!!! Try living here for one year and lets compare pockets at the end of 12 months.

Nigerian Cab driver coming on here trying to act like he the shiyyt. . . . . A train ur nuts!

Sit in those things at your own risk. On my visits to NY i was thoroughly disgusted. The A line is an eye sore. . It is so expensive to maintain as well. Their transportation authority is always cutting one service or the other. .

Nobody says "A Line", so that alone let me know that most likely youre lying and youve never taken the subway in NY!!!

The "A Line is an eyesore"?! Really?! So, whats the the difference of the "A" from the B, C, E,F, 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 7?! Huh, tell me Mr."Know-It-All-Even-Though-The-First-Time-I-Ever-Saw-A-Train-Upclose-Was-When-I-Came-To-The-United-States"!!!!

You just keep sounding ignorant!

I simply asked why didn't he hire Nigerians to build the trains, is that a Pan African question?  I don't reject the label of being called a Pan Africanist, that is how my parents raised me to be, but you guys do need to start using your own people to build up your nations, otherwise you will not be any better off than you are today.

Case in point, my beloved President Obama is promoting the rebuilding of our train system, we need high speed rail like yesterday, it will create good jobs for our people as well as spur economic growth in other areas. Trust me when I say, you won't see us paying Canadians or anyone else to construct our system, if by slim chance we are lacking the knowledge, we will send US citizens to learn what is needed than bring that knowledge HOME.  A nation can't keep outsourcing critical industries and expect to grow.

First off reduce those fonts, even if you wanna keep the annoying red. You dont have to virtually shove your words in our faces. Is this how you get your point across in real life? Well, then again, considering the tribe youre repping, it shouldnt be a surprise.

Second, do yourself a favor. Log off, grab a book and read! Or, if your insanely smart like yours truly (and comprehension is not an issue) then always refer to google so you can at least be aware of the point which you intend to push across.

You think building a train a train is the same as making a paper plane. . . " fold this piece here, and we got the wing. This piece here, and we got the tail. . . . ". Did you take a glance at the pic when the Governor was inspecting the wheels/brakes? Know what came to my mind? "Damn, how they make that?!".

Have you seen how many parts go on a train? Even parts you and I will never get to see i.e parts that reside in the engine! You think a train is just made up of seats and metal and it just starts to roll along on command? Havent you ever seen those commercials of cars being made? Even in those 20 second adverts you can see the rigorous tests the cars are subjected to. If it was that easy to make simple things as cars,  China will be at the forefront. Scratch that. Even the U.S will not lag behind the Japanese, Europeans and Koreans if it was that easy!

The truth is, Nigeria lacks the technological know how to build a train; it simply is not that industrialized. The high speed rails the U.S is seeking, dont be surprised that a foreign firm is who's gonna supply us the train. What would you say then?

Africa is just not industrialized. Thats the truth. Step by step, judging from the actions of the South West of Nigeria and its people, they'll "get it". But, for now, the best they can do is that kinda train. And like I said; IF ITS GOOD FOR NY, ITS GOOD FOR LAGOS.

Remember too, that very few places got effective (if they even have it at all) train service in the U.S!

Provocateur: Light Rail Can Save New York!

By George Haikalis

An artist's rendering of the proposal for a pedestrian-only 42nd Street with a river-to-river light rail system. Light rail--the modern version of streetcars--is a cheaper, faster and better-received solution to to expanding the transit system than many of the current proposals for new subways and regional rail lines.

An artist's rendering of the proposal for a pedestrian-only 42nd Street with a river-to-river light rail system. Light rail--the modern version of streetcars--is a cheaper, faster and better-received solution to to expanding the transit system than many of the current proposals for new subways and regional rail lines.

Proponents of plans to build the long-awaited Second Avenue Subway, Mayor Bloomberg's single-minded advocacy of an extension of the 7 subway line to the West Side of Manhattan and champions of a long list of other transit mega-projects have sparked a great deal of debate about the best way to expand New York City's transit system given limited funding sources. As the MTA weighs its options, it must consider three key issues: cost, construction time and public reception of the project. One proposal that is not currently a top contender for MTA approval is a light rail transit system on 42nd Street in Manhattan. Though it may not be as well known as the subways, light rail-the modern version of streetcars-would actually be a cheaper, faster and better-received solution than many of the proposals for new subways and regional rail lines.

Cheaper to Build, Cheaper to Maintain
The New York City Department of Transportation, in its 1994 Final Environmental Impact Statement, estimated the cost of the two-mile 42nd Street light rail line at $70 million, and the costs of rebuilding the remainder of the street-clearly in need of repair-at $30 million. Allowing for inflation, and inclusion of a plan for dramatic upgrading of the pedestrian environment, costs might be double the earlier estimate, or about $200 million. This would still be a bargain. At $100 million per mile, light rail costs would be less than one-tenth the cost of new subway construction in New York. The City's proposal to extend the 7 subway line for 1.2 miles to the West Side Rail Yards is estimated to cost some $1.4 to 2 billion. In addition, the operating cost of light rail would be substantially less than the bus service it would replace.

Its always good to have an idea when trying to argue an issue. Jumping into an argument without the proper facts always makes one end up looking like a fo*ol; ask George Bush!

Dude, just a 1.2 mile extension of the 7 Line is supposed to cost us $2billion. Just on barely a mile extension of one line! ONE LINE!!! Do you know how many Lines there are in NY? 24 and 3 shuttles! Do you know how many hundreds of miles of train tracks NYC? Did you notice too that your report was based on a 1994 report?! Even NY has been seeking money to upgrade its train systems forever. . . .

My point?

If New York State doesnt have the money, I doubt Lagos State does.

The trains going to Lagos are absolutely perfect. If its good enough for NY, its good enough for Lagos!

Yes, that is why we want better. I have been to NY and i know the cost it takes to keep the trains running. They are very old. We need trains that can last 50 years. These trains he is inspecting are outdated. We also lack maintenance culture in Nigeria. We cannot take care of these old trains. It will cost too much in the end. Buy new ones that will be good for 50 years. Those trains he is inspecting are not light rail, not at all. I have been in light rail trains. If he knows he cannot afford the project, he is better off doing other projects than bringing this heavy metal, archaic junk to Nigeria.

My point exactly.

As I understand it, Your country cannot even give its citizens enough electricity to power an electric can opener. Yet, you want her to provide you with the SAME type of trains that countries that generate their electricity through nuclear technology use?!

Are you serious? Do you see the irony in your demands? You think these sort of trains are coal powered or you think people push them from behind, along the rails, from stop to stop? C'mon son, get real.

Sorry, to disappoint you but aint nothing special about you on here; theres a buncha AA's running around here too. . . . and some of them got a reputation of being super-bad aszzes, so, watch out! Those train samples are too old, heavy and bulky. They cannot be energy efficient or safe for travel and cheaply maintained. Something like this below, should be what Fashola should be looking at. Enough of second hand okrika things for Nigeria. Nigerian's deserve the best:

Gaming? Or what you trying to say? Explain!

Are the prices hidden, or do you think numbers are just pulled out of the air? Oh, maybe you think that black man that call himself the Governor cant read. Dude, you need to chill for real.
