Both cars are good with few issues here and there. 2011 Hyundai Elantra 2WD Sedan with Automatic transmission of 1.8L 148 HP 4 Cyl.

And almost similar to the 2013. So from engine size the Elantra is better on fuel economy.
When it comes to parts they are relatively ok.

My car finds it difficult to selecting gears easily these days. When you move after the light turns green, it'll select 1,2 then instead of 3, it'll do as if it pulled off gear. Then I'll have to reduce acceleration then it'll gradually select 3 and above. Then cars behind you will notice you aren't picking pace and start honking. Any idea what the problem might be?

Causes and solution

C1201 – Engine Control System Malfunction

A fault is found in Toyota SUV engine control system and is detected through the CEL (Check Engine Light) and running a Diagnosis, the fault code that came up are P0430 and C1201. The fail-safe feature of C1201 that came up on the dashboard bans the operations of VSC and TRAC. When the signals from the engine are input normally, the fail-safe is cancelled and the DTC is not stored.

One major issue with this C1201 code, it comes with other fault codes; mostly

P0455: Evaporator Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak)

P0441: Evaporator Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

The 3 codes are related to each other.

The C1201 code is the one which tells the vehicle to turn on the light of the check engine and to disable the traction and VSC. Basically, when the other two codes pop up, this one is responsible for letting you know that there is a problem there. This one can also be solved by changing the other codes because they are the ones that caused it.

But in this case I have to deal with[b] P0430 – 2007 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER[/b] – Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2.

Causes

Faulty Three-way Catalyst Converter Bank 2
Exhaust Tube
Intake Air Leaks
Faulty Oxygen (O2) Sensor
Faulty Fuel injector(s)
Leaking Fuel Injector (s)
Faulty Spark plugs
Improper Ignition Timing
Dirty Air Filter and lastly but rarely
Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

After fixing the P0430, the next step was to check if the VSC [/b]light on the dashboard was gone or still showing. Which was showing with the [b]CEL.

C1201 codes is mostly corrected by changing the gas cap tank to an OEM gas cap to solve the issue.

In conclusion we decided to order for a new one online to solve the issue and the car now run smoothly.

But from what you said prolly an Engine Seat or An internal issue with the tranny.

That should be Honda.... run a scan but mostly na low or dirty transmission fluid. But to save yourself get the recommended fluid for transmission

A 2010 Toyota Camry le with 2ar-fe engine was having a problem. The problem is when starting for the 1st time in the morning, the car will attempt to start while jecking and then switch off. On the 2nd attempt, it will start normal as if nothing happen on the previous attempt.
No check engine light seen while the engine is on but seen when you turn on the ignition.
A scan was performed and p0015 was seen as a pending code.
But the code disappeared after an oil change and driving for about 50+ miles.
My question is can this code cause the starting problem because the car still starts like that especially after being parked for about 6hrs even if you driven it for the day.

This sounds like a fuel system issue
