ProgrammingRe: Nigerian Programmers Can Be Of Great Help In The 2019 General Elections. by blackborn7(m): 9:04am On May 09, 2017
tk4rd:
I am not a programmer, I know.. But I know that there are lots of intelligent Nigerians everywhere that are good in writing codes and creating good softwares and mobile apps..
Now, is the time we put their skills to good use..
Let us come together and do something spectacular..

If our leaders wouldn't to do the right thing, we Nigerians can put them aside and show them the way forward..
To that effect, I would like to make a suggestion here.

...
I would like the Nigerian Programmers to come together and conduct a competition that would require the participating competitors to create hack-proof computer softwares and mobile apps that could be strong and viable enough to be used for conducting highly sensitive online elections.

...
Let the competition be widely publicized; and also, let all the apps and softwares that were used (or produced) in the competition be made available to the general public for testing in their various private polls and choice-making (and for public review too)..
If this is done, the government of the day would start thinking towards adopting electronic voting for once, and at the same time, make plans towards adopting these Nigerian-made softwares and apps rather than considering importation of the softwares..
In this modern era,, paper counting and recounting is absolutely outdated and archaic.. The importance and advantages of electronic voting are too numerous to mention
Please @poster there seems to be something that is incoherent in your statement. I would love a better explanation of what you re talking about? let me recant one of your statements " I would like the Nigerian Programmers to come together and conduct a competition that would require the participating competitors to create hack-proof computer softwares and mobile apps that could be strong and viable enough to be used for conducting highly sensitive online elections. 1) Are you saying there should a competition for all programmers or a competition for both the presidential and governorship election. 2) And if all the presidential and governorship candidate create a hack-proof computer softwares of what use is the software when both presidential and governorship appointees can create theirs? this will lead to massive electronic rigging. Now if you are saying Nigerian programmers to create an application that can make it impenetrable for election invaders and information theft that, is somewhat possible.

the second paragraph of your statement Let the competition be widely publicized; and also, let all the apps and softwares that were used (or produced) in the competition be made available to the general public for testing in their various private polls and choice-making (and for public review too)..
I can deduce from your statement, you want the result ie the output generated from the application to be published in various polling units? i think is possible but it will take a heavy data migration and synchronization to achieve that. and if possible developing a web service from the scratch(api) for this project. Developing a web service is not something one can voluntarily do in country like Nigeria where everything is useless and things are taken for granted and above all one is not easily compensated for his/her effort. for me i can develop a web service if i'm paid but i cant try it for free reason because Nigeria Government are so ungrateful and they are thieves and at the end,the project will go down the drain later in the future. for example if Taye registered on the application and voted for beans, Taye went ahead and registered Kehinde and voted for beans instead of rice now the system would be able to detect Taye prints using his fingerprint from another database application and throw an exception to Taye that his finger print is already captured. secondly what if Taye later went ahead and register another application, this time Taye didnt scan his finger print on the finger print scanner, the application will reject his application and lastly Taye went ahead and register an application this time He use the foot print of a goat, the system will have to distinguish human finger print from external prints. how does the system handles that? since is online, in Nigeria everything is possible. my final conclusion is i'm interested if money is involve, base on the recession we Nigerians are facing.

FamilyRe: 17.2% Of My Monthly Salary Goes To My Wife & Yet... by blackborn7(m): 2:11pm On Mar 24, 2017
skypeme:
Dear reasonable people on Nairaland, please I need your advise

My wife whom I love so much and also loves me too is entitled to 17.2% of my monthly income, my salary is 175kpm and she take 17.2% of this amount, yet she feels very uncomfortable with it

I pay the bills, buy food stuff every month and take care of our little baby girl

My baby girl does not take any local food, she takes only fresogold, tea and pap, the cost of fresogold is very high and she can consume 4tins in a month

My wife isn't not working yet she is still schooling and I pay all her fees,

I've never complaint of my duty as the head of the family yet she still feels unsatisfied with the 17.2% I give to her

Her primary duty in the house is to take care of our baby and prepare my dinner every week days and both break fast and dinner during the weekend

Recently I told her to take our baby to the hospital for treatment, our total bill was 11,500 naira but my wife suprisinly told me that the hospital bill is 22,700 naira which I immediately wired to her account

So I called the hospital to make inquiries about the exorbitant bill then I got to know that my wife inflated the hospital bill to 22,700 naira

I confronted her and she spoke to me very rudly I was not happy about this, I kept quite and didn't say anything about it again

I am thinking I should penalize her for her rude behaviour and the dishonesty she has melted on me

Will it be advisable not to pay her her monthly salary for two months ?

Will this correct her brain to default and what would possibly be the implication of doing this ?

She has not apologised and she has not seen anything wrong so far in what she has done
Suspend her allowance for 3 months let her know that money is not plucked from the tree, i bet you after three months she will be loyal like a servant. what rubbish!!
HealthRe: My Experience And My Stand With Other People View On Dr. Oji Alllwell (suicider) by blackborn7(m): 12:28pm On Mar 24, 2017
lifeexperience:
Don't wanna reveal my real identity here because I am well known here. So have to use a fresh account.

After the whole scenario and saga of the Dr. Oji Alllwell who took his life by jumping from 3rd mainland bridge, I had known and come to notice that life isn't all about money and riches. Who would have thought that a young man of his age who is a Medical Doctor, own an SUV and a driver and might be living in a very comfortable house will commit suicide.

The whole internet was full with sympathy to the family, insults to the young man and many felt why will a young man who is a Medical Doctor and living comfortably will commit suicide. But the truth about it is if you haven't suffered depression, false accusation and so many challenges in life you will think life is all about comfort, roses and possession of wealth.

My sad life and experience.

Sometime early last three year, 5th of Feb 2014 to be precise. I was falsely accused of something I do not know anything about to the extent I was blackmailed and filmed on another scenario to make the accusation look solid. The accuser accused me of trying to rape her who was my highly respected leader's wife and this was arranged by her and her friend.

To cut the story short, I have a man I once called my leader who is highly influential both in business and politics and he really loved me and took me as his son. I even had a room in his house. But the wife never liked me because she had once asked me to have sex with her which I blatantly rejected and kept it secret within me. But her mind kept judging her that I might leak out this secret one day which I will never even do because I am the secretive type and nobody might believe me because of her innocent lifestyle. But she quickly played a smart one on me.

From how the whole film started. One morning she called me from my room (in the guest house) to come and help her fix something in her room. I was still with my night wear and went to her room straight with it. As I got there, she told me to remove my shirt that I will be climbing her closet to help her nail something. I did exactly as she instructed not knowing she have her own motives. After climbing the closet there was nothing there to nail and I told her everything is intact. She said she was hearing some noise so she thought maybe their was some loose somewhere. As I came down, she filmed me unknowingly with her phone as I was trying to wear my clothes. That was how everything started.

She connived with her friend and they both lied against me saying I once asked her out too. I denied everything and her husband believed me at some point because he knew right from time the woman never liked me but didn't show full support of me because of the wife. My family and few of my friends were all with me at that point and they knew I can never do that not even with a married woman. She insisted that she will provide video clip for more prove and I was first to say she should do so, not knowing of what she have done earlier and edited some part of the video.

The whole story changed when she provided that video clip. The husband, my girlfriend, my family (father, mother, siblings and infact every of my extended family), friends and the whole world deserted me and I was even cursed by my parents for making them look stupid for earlier supporting me. I was left alone in this whole world, I was sacked because "my leader" has a very high stake where I work and was thrown inside the cell for 3 weeks until the man instructed for my release and never to come close to his fence again.

After I came out, I felt like the ground should swallow me, I was rejected by everybody including my parents (though my mother stood by me as her son but never believed anything I was saying). At this point I felt depressed, I asked myself what's the need of living in this life when everybody is against me on what I never did. Nobody to even listen to me anymore because everybody was hiding their wife and girlfriends away from me (funny world) and describing me as rapist. Do you know what it takes to be wrongly accused of what you don't even know anything about and been backed up with convincing evidence?

From that point I knew this life is of two phases. A once happy man now became the saddest man on earth. At some point I ran into cars on motion but accidents are always averted, bought Rat killer and some poison on three occasions but anytime I wanna take my life, one spirit come and says stand and defend yourself one day you must surely triumph and the world will believe you and another mind will say no need because that time will never come. But I am very happy today that I was able to mend my life through that phase. Though I still pass through depression sometime but I am being able to manage my life and open up my own business to be a boss of my own because of the stigma it brought to me. I am doing very well in my business (small company) today and don't even have any single friend because I fill their is no need for that when I couldn't even get one by my side during the bad times. Same goes to girls because I see them as Lucifer (sorry to use this word) and don't think that mindset will ever make me to marry. To my family they said I should come for forgiveness which I did on what I never committed (Oh Lord). Today I am living a lonely life all alone with no friends, don't mingle with neighbours, hardly communicate with families and some point even I doubt if God exist because he saw me pass through what I knew nothing about and just kept mute up till this day. The only friend I had and still have is the web and internet which I fall to anytime I feel like.

But sometime life isn't what you see on someone physically. If you have suffered depression and have been in some situation people go through in life you will never judge people for somethings they do or what they pass through. Who will be thinking of wealth when you are be confronted with false accusation and passing through depression. If it was pushed further I would have served a jail term for what I don't know. Probably still inside jail by now.

Your prayer should be one day you should never experience depression. Though I don't support suicide and will never support it. If I have my way I will open up a rehab or something where people can go have time when they are depressed or lonely. Set it up like form of vacation ground where you meet with nice people who will be employed to treat you nice and make you feel people still love you despite if the rest of the world hate you. Life isn't all about the roses but about how you can manage the bad time when it hits you.

Sorry for the long writing and grammatical blunders.
@lifeexperience, Whatever you face in life, whatever your challenges in life is, there is a seed of advantage(there's a positive result attached to that problem). Honestly after reading your message i was at the point of sharing tears. The most beautiful thing is you came out victorious by not killing yourself. I wouldn't blame you if you didnt get married someday. I didnt finish reading your message and concluded that you wont be getting married and you indeed said it. As a young man that i am, I can say that the challenges i had overcome made be the most resolute, peaceful, liberal and respectful person that i have ever been. Mine was criticism. But Thank God i do things totally different from the way people do. what about my love life, that one was a total misery. I gave her my all but she was too blind to see the good guy in me. i chose never ever to have one girl friend again, until i'm married from the selections i have, but i was wrong. I was acting base on my experience, Presently i'm nurturing a good and healthy relationship to the most wonderful on earth. I like the idea of creating a REHAB CENTRE. Maybe is God is telling you to have an NGO for the depressed mind..its a good idea. And you will always have my support full time.

I conclude by saying that in life perspectives, the only antidote to frustration, emotional torture and depression is time. Always take your time and do what is right.

There is need for a bloodless political revolution.

I will suggest one of the conditions for membership is to have a source of livelihood ,no matter how small.

This is important so that people will not see politics as a job.
Nice point...our member must have a source of livelihood. we also need lawyers.. we need to create our own manifesto.

thats a good idea Mr Ekoishome,

First we commence with a facebook group page. but im still suggesting Young Nigerian Political Leaders Alliance ( A body ) then our party should be NIRA. we need something very simple to pronounce, I can get the logo done. and our mantra ready. but first lets start with a facebook group. the purpose of the group should be all interested member should get familiarized with each other.

Hello Dear Politically savvy Nairalanders,

With a heavy heart and all seriously while expecting Fully mature responses, i will like to find out the following:

1) What does it take to Register a Political Party?

2) What documents does INEC require?

3) What about is required and how much should be the least minimum balance of the parties account at any given time?

4) What is the minimum number of members who can form a political party?

Fellow Nigerian youths, the time has come for we all to seize permanently the political mantle from these greedy and heartless men and women who from 1960 till date care only about the stomach, large accounts and their loved ones. They unite in looting the country dry while turning the general populace against themselves.

Come 2019, even if we the youths (4years and below) have not fully succeeded in chasing these greeding folks from our political terrain, by 2023 show should have stamped our feet in take over leadership.

Irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity, educational and financial status, now is the time to unite to determine our future and that of our children
.
I must stately clearly and confidently that since i have been a member of nairaland over 5 years ago this is the only post that beat my imagination. i must say i'm so proud of writer. i've been having deep thought about the future of this nation but most people seem to be unperturbed about it.

how do we form a political alliance to get rid of our political hegemonics? right from our founding fathers till present our leaders has continually being a mistake, and we cant just fold our arms and see Nigeria slipping away in the hands of fools.

i'm thinking we should form a political movement( Young Nigerian Political Leaders Alliance) and our party should be New Integration Republican Alliance (NIRA) that will consist of fearless young professionals, we build a website, those who are financially capable would assist, members who own blogs will publicize for us, those willing to register will register on our portal, we appoint leaders, not just a leader a functional and strategist, we organize meetings, have political unit. Guys is achieveable!!! lets make it an open source political movement. where everyone would be involve, if we can come up with logo's, branding, our political mantra and so on and on. if you re interested in this movement. then how do we get to work??

If we plan today then our tomorrow wont be fearful....

mikemikoo2:
Hello all. I had to create a new account for this just so I wont get laughed at. Ive been battling with body odour for about 2 years now. It has defied all physical measures such as hygiene and deodorants. Ive tried damn near all deodorants I can find in the store. Ive also tried things like lime, lemon, vinegar, baking soda and the likes. I dont even perspire much but when I put on any anti perspirant, I get smelly in no time without sweating. I think the culprit is my underarm but I shave all the time and wash up properly. I went to the hospital and took blood tests and everything came out normal‎.

I have decided to try traditional means such as iya alagbon and the likes as I hear some of them are very good. Please help recommend any solution apart from hygiene and shaving. Please I beg, this thing has put my life on a stand still as I cant mingle and move about freely without people rubbing their noses and making faces at me. It has made me suicidal. Who wouldve thought id end up with such issues?

Also please if u know any good traditional specialist in things like this, kindly let me know. Im in lagos.

Lalasticlala kindly move this to the front page so I can get varied suggestions please or else I just might end up as the next rip on social media. These days I am sad all the time and find it very hard to go out. Thanks for ur help‎
Brother i really feel your plight, just get garlic, ginger and onion. peel both the garlic and ginger and put into a blender, blend well. get a clean keg or a 2 litre rubbers. put the blender garlic, ginger and onion in to the keg and add water. soak for the whole day and make sure you put it in the fridge. take a full glass morning and night, the body odour will drastically fade aways as the ginger and garlic outshine the odour, now you will notice the ginger and garlic smell take over dont panic, is part of the process. when you start noticing it, you can go on with ur regular exercise and bathing. a get a anti-septic soap like dettol cool and your deodorant will do the rest.

Good bless.

FamilyGOLDRUSH: $3,000 Will Make You A Mixed Race Baby In Ghana by blackborn7(op): 8:40pm On Jan 09, 2016
In Ghana, they are regarded as hotcakes. Their complexion put them on a fairly higher pedestal, as they are the ones every guy or lady craves to date – the half-caste!But ever thought that a time will come for half-caste babies to be bred in Ghana? Well, thanks to modern science, one can have a half-caste or mixed-race baby without necessarily having to marry or have sexual intercourse with a person of different race. Following in the steps of artificial insemination, a novel venture to create a new society –‘Half-caste World’- on the African continent is burgeoning in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

As ridiculous as it may seem, considering the fact that the word ‘half-caste’ denigrate one’s status in society, especially in Europe and the Americas, advocates of this enterprise believe the creation of this breed of people of bi-racial identity positions Africa for a better future.

“Half-caste World is founded to transform Africa into the land of riches and beauty, the land of every man’s dream. We believe life began in African and will end in Africa,” the advocates posted on their Facebook page.

The campaign is targeting both African couples and single women who are desirous of giving birth to half-caste babies the opportunity of a lifetime at a relatively affordable cost. Although the advocate of this campaign has not revealed his identity, investigationsrevealed that Augustine N.K. Boateng, a graduate of “University Mohammed Premier” hotc in Morocco. When contacted on a phone number provided on his newly created website, he declined to provide details on the procedure and the level of patronage, saying:

“I just started it and wouldn’t want to involve the media at this early stage”.

However, our investigation revealed he started operating about four months ago from Madina Estates in Accra.

It was further revealed that Boateng provides gametes from almost all nationalities including the UK and the US at a cost of 3,000 US Dollars upwards, depending on the process and the individual’s request.

There are questions about how gametes are procured, the insemination procedure and even the regulatory regime. Boateng claims that the procedure to insert the “gametes can be done both in a clinic and at home.”The Half-caste babies entrepreneur prides himself of giving women and couples half-caste babies with “mental and physical beauty”.

“A new world has began and it is like the tide, you either swim along or get left behind. You too can be a blessing for the next generation,”

To Boateng, there is what he has termed “a vast racial gap between Africa and the rest of the world” which ought to be bridged through breeding of half-caste on the continent. Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have questioned the rationale for such a venture.
