kabe1: That should have been the case but looking at a unit cost as compared to that of Ghana shows that ours is expensive. At the same time @rka2' explanation is understandable. Ehm... Ehm... Ehm, clears throat and in a low voice, but you ma know say man must chop |

kabe1: If true that Ghana bought 9 for 88million dollars then 12 should translate to 117.3 million dollars. There is something about this Tucano deal that's fishy, more so the delivery date. 1 Like |

SamuelAnyawu: They are BH, run for your life. You work for an NGO and you don't have a smattering for the spoken language there. It's almost suicidal. What if they are discussing how to kidnap you as you will fetch a lot of NGO money P. S Thought you said Baga is amongst the LGA held by BH? I'm beginning to look at you one kind, one kind. 3 Likes 1 Share |

KingAzubuike: I agreed with you that there was no coordination. These one's are no special forces. Have you seen movies from the civil war - Liberia - Sierra Leone? They are almost like this. Have you seen movies of the US army which is always the bench mark from Korea - Vietnam - Grenada - Panama - Afghanistan? Iraq/Iran war. My message is that war is always chaotic, it's not an opera. In Afghanistan, some of the videos that I've seen are chaotic. When it gets too hot and it does most times, they call for air cover. The Nigeria Army could do better, but it's not good to ALWAYS bash them, seeing that even the best with billions of dollars weaponry gets into situations like this. 4 Likes |

Agree that the military was not coordinated in that video. I agree that they will need retraining cos their tactics seem to be caught up in a time warp of the 60's.My observation from some posts is that too much war movies and video games have done some people no good. In a situation where opposing sides are almost at par, there's hardly any coordination. It has happened many times with the US army and their saving grace most times is calling for air cover. I'm not holding any brief for the military, the buck is on the table of past and present military chiefs. They are still failing these boys. 12 Likes 1 Share |

The NA is short on training. They need a reorientation in ConOps and OrBatt. I've emphasised this over and over again. Some times, it's not the absence or presence of equipment that determines engagements but technique vis-a-vis your response. As an e-warrior , one of the things I noticed from that short clip is that they know the direction where they are being shot at, why are they not responding towards that direction? I would also want to say that this doesn't look like an ambush but possibly a sneak attack. Mehn! It's not easy at all sha. A video on twitter shows the new hardware from China on their way to the North East on the Kano /Maiduguri Road. 2 Likes |

Remember when I was serving as a youth corp member, I overheard the commandant gisting with some fellows that the NA is the strongest in Africa, better than Egypt. I just continue my waka as per na chics surround am. 1 Like |

GabrielYulaw: Before the US invasion, Taliban was fully entrenched in Kabul and governing Afghanistan with shari'a law. Now they are in caves between Pakistan with Afghanistan. Bin Laden is dead, Zawahiri his deputy remains alive and he continues to issue statements from his hideout in Pakistan, but the core is defeated. Bin Laden’s son and potential heir, Hamza, who was described as "lion from the den" by Zawahiri, was killed sometime last year,he was widely seen as the emerging leader of al-Qaeda. As I've initially written, the core mission was to kill bin Laden /remove al-Qaeda /remove Taliban. All were achieved, but in time the objective shifted to stabilising Afghanistan, which resulted in the US being in this current quagmire. I will want you to note that it's possible if top al-Qaeda leadership were apprehended within weeks or months after 9/11, US forces would've withdrawn from Afghanistan, especially as the Bush administration prepared for war against Iraq. P. S. The world has never been safe before and after now, the insecurity is now closer home that's why you feel it was safer before. |

GabrielYulaw: I've often said that the US is a parasite on the whole world, but which ever way you look at it there's always a balancing act. If interested read, Games Nations Play by John W. Spanier. Countries go along together if their interests align, which also translates to "no permanent friendship but permanent interest". 1 Like |

kemicalreact: Let me simplify my post. 1. Initial objective was to destroy al-Qaeda and remove Taliban. 2. The longer the US stayed in Afghanistan, the mission evolved /shifted into building a post Taliban Afghan state in which a road map was conceived by the international community, led by the US and Afghan leaders. The first objective was immediately realised. The second is implausible. The Taliban are still operating in the borders between Afghanistan and Pakistan and will resurge as the US draws down it's troop numbers. 2 Likes 1 Share |
