Shazam! Am very much interested in this film. It's one of those films that turn out to be sleeper hits. It appeals to children and has that theme centered on family and reuni0n. Seeing how Disney brought Endgame very close to its release date, one has to w0nder what Avengers' endgame is shifting fr0m its May release date. I feel Shazam would have better chances if pushed to Christmas like Aquaman and had WB had The Flash or The Batman shot in time, m0ved it to Shazam's release date. Once again WB's fault. Either way, they should expect a clash in their April slot. But am very much interested in Shazam.

December 2019 is suicide for any movie not named Star Wars 9.
The main reason Aquaman released in December is because there was no Star Wars this month.

Aquaman was supposed to compete with Venom in October before WB shifted it to December.

Even Marvel wouldn't dare release a film to compete with a juggernaut like Star Wars 9 next December.

I don't think a DC movie will ever pitch a tent in December in the next few years.
Avatar 2 and 3 have already claimed December 2020 and 2021 respectively. (certified billion dollar films)

I don't know why Disney mischievously pushed Endgame to April, it's not like there's any competition in May.
Shazam will battle it out with Hellboy reboot and Billy will likely carry April before Endgame arrives.

A $600m- $700m box office total would be decent for a character who is not as famous as Supes and Batman.

I will not be expecting Aquaman kind of surprise.
Those things don't happen twice in a row.

But I'm really looking forward to Shazam.
It looks like a good family film.

By the way, Black Manta in the Aquaman movie was my favourite character. He should have had more screen time. They even gave him a bad ass soundtrack (when he was making his suit)- Depeche mode; Its no good.

Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Inhumans was cancelled this year but I don't want to derail this thread with TV talk.

WB used Aquaman movie to introduce Black Manta.
I knew he would get less screen time due to Orm's presence as the main villain.

Aquaman is making loads of money for WB at the box office so Aquaman 2 is surely gonna happen.

The sequel could be a full blown story arc for Black Manta and less Orm.

Mo Salah only started playing as a striker this season.

It will beat Justice League and Man Of Steel's respective box office totals by the end of this weekend.

I don't want to get my hopes up by thinking of $1b.

This 100 goals they are making noise with.
How many years did it take Hazard to score 100 for Chelsea.

Mo Salah has scored 58 goals for Liverpool under one year and a few months....only 3-4 of those goals were penalties.

Aquaman movie has the most comic accurate costumes you will ever see.

Still I really enjoyed it. Not as dark as the other DC movies some laughs here and there. Solid visuals. Good action sequence and mad ass tracks.

He's the best defender in premier league and I can't think of any defender better than him on current level in Europe top 5 leagues... except Koulibaly.

Atlanteans are not humans.
They are a different species that live underwater.
They are super strong.
They can lift over ten times their own weight.
They got upgraded senses, agile and fast swimmers too.

So the way they fight will be nothing like the ordinary.

As for CGI, it's an underwater kingdom.
Atlanteans go to battle riding on not horses but freaking sharks.
How else could WB bring it to life if not through CGI.

I have noticed that Marvel fanboys are gutted that Marvel studios didn't do something like this first.

So they are playing attache-by-force.

Anything to make it look like Marvel has something to do with Aquaman.

First it was "wet Thor" and now its "underwater Wakanda".

Now onto the meat of the matter;Why won't Aquaman make as much money as Venom at the box office?
Marvel is a juggernaut in the movie industry.All they have to do right now is place their logo in front of a movie title and the public(both local and international) laps it up without question(E.g. Venom).This is what DC lacks at the moment.Despite a very good second and third trailer and high praise from some movie critics,the general public is still questioning Aquaman being a good movie.
That is why I also believe SONY/MARVEL Into the Spiderverse will also be a bigger box office hit than Aquaman.
P.S. Give me a witty and whimsical Tim Burton Batman Returns 1992 than a grim and charmless Chris Nolan Dark Knight 2008 and I'll always choose the former

Movie is tight. Worth every kobo. Maybe the best DCEU movie after Man Of Steel.
But WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FVCK? Why was it dropped from the Oscars best VFX shortlist? That movie was visually glorious.

Oscar, Golden Globe and these movie awards are no different from politics.

Studios have to be influential and must do campaign as well to even stand a chance at getting close to the award.

WB didn't play their cards right.
Only Ready Player One got nominated but other visually great WB films like Aquaman and Crimes Of Grindelwald got snubbed.

Look at Disney having up to 4 of their movies in last 10 nominees.
Mary Poppins which was released in the same timeframe as Aquaman was nominated.

Even freaking Antman and the Wasp which ain't half as good as the visuals in Aquaman got the nod.

It's bizarre that a movie with groundbreaking Avatar-level visuals got snubbed at the Oscars.

Great movies like TDK and Logan also missed out on notable nominations during their time.

If a studio fails to play politics well.

Population is cut in half.
If resources are not enough, plant and animal resources included.

The so called plant and animal resources which is not enough in the first place will be cut in half.

So the problem remains,

Which is the major resources for food.

In the movie the things he created reverses back to normal once he wasn't there ...so creating food is out of the question because it will just turn back to what it was when he leaves
