You want to force people to respect you because you are what?
It is earned oo abegii

Your passport is 50th out of 54 in Africa and you are talking about respect

I meant backward fluctuations. Nigeria is going down while they are stable.

The citizens feel the impact when you go down. Nigeria lack stability.

Size doesn't matter. Iceland has only 300,000 people.
I said Kano State’s economy (GDP), not population.

Kano indigenes Dangote & Rabiu will buy the 3 countries combined, & will have small dollars still left to invest no shaking in the Nigeria stock exchange.

ESKOM Is really bad. SO bad, that blackouts are a way of life in SA, power stealing is ever present, no new power station has been built in ages, and even the coal used for some of the plants are stolen.

I held your views until I saw a video last year. One of the saddest videos I have ever seen.

The problem with power in Nigeria...power theft, and government not letting DISCOS charge cost reflective tarrifs. That means discos cannot earn enough profit, and thus cannot adequately pay GENCOS...which is why discos reject power, and why we have 30 licences for power stations haven't been taken up.
When I used to visit Joburg South Africa back then on 3 occasions, no such electricity black outs.
PoliticsRe: Minister Of Power Is The Worst Minister by blacknp(m): 5:11pm On Jan 28, 2024
nairalanda1:
ESKOM Is currently a big mess. Togo and Benin power companies cannot provide power for all their citizens.

The problem is that privatization of power came with a caveat. Government would set the prices for the power companies for fairness. IN practice, that meant government setting prices so low, DISCOS could not make a profit.
No matter how bad Eskom & Co are, they are a 100x better than the quacks Jonathan sold your future to.

Ie, What do the Osibudu’s know about electricity distribution?

You want to pretend you don't know that the previous federal government of Buhari received the list of terrorist sponsors from the Dubai government, did his government publish their names or took any step like prosecuting these individuals? Even this current government, I read in one of the dailies towards the end of last year when the AGF, Lateef Fagbemi, said that they have identified the sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria and would soon start prosecution. So what is causing the delay? Why are state governors not signing the death penalty for kidnappers?
You are all over this thread attacking everyone's opinion. I want to ask you, now that it is clear that the government is not interested in the security of its citizens and would rather take the side of the oppressors, what do you suggest the oppressed do?
Very funny people, keep gaslighting yourself, the same Hypocrites that supported & destroyed security apparatuses in Nigeria all in the name of Endsars thinking that they were doing President Buhari, are complaining of increased insecurity today?

Make you enjoy the demon that you all created, like they say be careful what you wish for, because for every action, there is an equal & opposite reaction.

Same government you claim told you that UAE gave them names of sponsors of terrorism, told you they did not do anything?

Was Simon Ekpa’s name on the list of Terrorists sent from the Emirates, or as usual you are looking for someone else to blame for your own shortcomings?

His own President of which country? The truth they say is a very bitter pill to swallow, so I understand your anguish.

Charity they say begins @ home, so judgment must start in your Local Government & State, he who seeks equity must come with clean hands.

Not this hypocrisy that you are purportedly exhibiting in your guilty conscience.

You know you don't have to quote me? You know we don't have to agree on the same thing, right? I raised the issue of the government protecting the terrorists and their sponsors instead of the citizens they swore to protect. Address the issue I raised and stop quoting me like an illiterate, I'm not responsible for your lack of comprehension.
Which Government is protecting the terrorists, state or Local Government?

Can you mention the sponsors of Terrorist is your state, or local government terrorizing you?

Start the revolution from your local government & state.

Guy, forget all this talk.

Secure the citizens or legalize guns, let the unprotected citizens stand a chance against those that think people's lives are in their hands.

Let me tell you... Nigerian citizens are just cowardly and weird.

In most nations, if a quarter of what has been happening in Nigeria happens there, within a week, the nation will burn.

If the government won't make public the sponsors of insecurity, if they cannot go after terrorists and their sponsors, they should allow the victims of insecurity to own guns.
You wouldn’t be alive to type this nonsense on Nairaland if what you are wishing comes to pass.

You allow illiterate Nigerians the right to bear arms?, even the poor will not even qualify, it is only the rich that will have the guns, na so they go they kill the poor people legally for nothing.

Oga accuse houseboy of stealing his money, na dead body police go come carry for house.

But then what is the solution?

I should think it makes sense - give guns to the innocent and vulnerable. They claim to carry guns to protect their cattle, it only makes sense that farmers have guns to protect their farms as well. By the way, this is also what is obtained in the more civilized world.
Other then the United States, mention the country you know where Citizens under their constitution are allowed to carry arms?

And mind you that was enshrined in their constitution to allow the Oyibos seize the land of the red indians.
