This is the peak of bigotism, ignorance (and am sorry to say) stupidity.
How do u begin ur statement by using foul abusive languages and then end it by trying to link everything to all that is supposedly sacred.
The entire statement is so typical of islamic fanatics. They believe they should always have their way.
First of all, the issue of islamic banking is not one that should be swallowed hook, line and sinker because if we accept it, then it means every other religion in nigeria including ogboni fraternity, aiyelala etc must also be allowed to have their own system of banking, since we operate a democratic system. What is good for the goose must also be good for the gander! And is CBN equipped to monitor all such banks.
Secondly, the threat the muslims are the majority is utterly ridiculous, since it is a well known fact that the north has continued to botch census figures in order to remain slightly significant in the scheme of things.
Thirdly, even if the north has a more population, it is a well known fact that the entire nigerian govt revenue rests on the resources located in the south. i will like to see what the north can do with their population wen they have no jobs, no roads, no electricity and continous bombings here and there.
Fourthly, if it was ever in doubt that the people behinde this banking system are the same people behinde the initiation of the Boko Haram sect, such is now evidently cleared. From the tone of the Supreme Sharia Council, it is easy to see the deep animosity these people are harboring against christians, mostly southerners.
And i am fully convined that the whole episode is not unconnected with Goodluck emerging the winner of the polls in the last election. This born-to-rule mentality which most northerners harbor is still very much evident.

In my opinion, i think its time Nigeria begins to rethink the issue of us splitting and going our seperate way.!!

Wot u have failed to understand (as well as most Nigerians) is that being a homosexual is NOT a social calling, its not a club (in which u can hop in and out) and its certainly a choice that pple are allowed to make. Its just a fact of nature: not all of us are straight. Its this homophobia that has forced pple to commit suicide in the past, because they are taught and forced to believe that what they are is bad, a sin and an abomination! Before u raise ur hammer of hate to strike anyone, remember that if that child u seek to prvent from knowing the truth may infact be gay as well. Further, statistically it is impossible that there is any family on earth which does not have at least one homosexual. The fact that they choose to hide in the closet, thereby making u unaware does not mean they don't exist! Which would prefer, teaching your kids to be tolerable and accepting, or filling their heads with hate, fear and guilt ??!
Nevertheless, I know that the battle to eradicate this ignorance, fear and hate is going to be a long one! There are many homosexuals living in disguise in our country, many even married wit kids just to satisfy what society deems as "normal". I know gay couples who are still together, inspite of the fact that they are married to women! Sometimes, I only feel sorry for their unsuspecting wives. Its a pity, just imagine to horror of finding that ur husband of many years is infact gay! Its shocking, but that's how society has forced gay men to live their lives, in the closet and in a web of lies!
These are just a few of the implications of homophobia which the uk as well as certain civil societies are fighting to put an end to.
Really, let us step back and consider, what has hate and fear really contributed to our development as a nation?? We should be preaching tolerance and freedom bocause the only constant thing in life is change.

The last time i checked, Nigeria(as well as most African countries) was a secular State, so if we really mean to enforce freedom and democracy, shouldnt people be allowed to live their lives the way they please? This is totally a welcome development. It is high time African countries stop living in abject denial. Bigotism and homophobia must give way to true freedom. Whether u like it or not, homosexuals are here to stay and there is nothing any govt of any abysmally backward country can do about it.
For those of you pretending to have "high moral standards", it will amaze you to know the number of gay Africans that flee the continents each year, seeking asylum in other continents. Many of our brothers and sisters have been forced to flee because of our general attitude towards gays.

i would assume the anti graft commission is still gathering evidence with regard to the N1b loot. Meanwhile, if they dont charge him (with this seemingly lesser offences), then he may get bail and be able to flee the country like he had planned earlier.

My mother always said that for a marriage to work, one of the parties must play the fool! And I think I now knw wot that means. Its funny that after spending so much time together on the same planet, both the male and female species have chosen to remain to the single must important fact of life ' we are first and foremost animals !' Show me a successful marriage and I'll show u a lying and cheating husband, and a persevering and humble wife, or vice versa!
