It's funny how some of you are so eager to attack the moderator over the closure of that thread. . .it makes me wonder, are some of you illiterate? In the rules, it clearly states: NO SEXUALLY EXPLICIT OR HATEFUL CONTENT
Please do not post any pictures, multimedia content, or writing that is sexually explicit (lewd, suggestive, bawdy, dirty, erotic, filthy, gross, hard core, immodest, indecent, indelicate, lascivious, licentious, naughty, obscene, off-color, pornographic, X-rated, smutty, suggestive). We will also not allow any comments that promote hatred or discrimination against any race, ethnic or religion group, gender, sexual orientation, et cetera.
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-1026.0.html Why does RichyBlacK need to explain himself when the rules clearly justify why he closed the thread? |

Why is there even a discussion on this? The thread needed to be deleted, not only was it offensive, but it could have also been used as something to incite violence against Igbo's. Good job RichyBlacK.

No, not really. I was just saying, if they're so concerned, why don't they use some of their loot to spread the word of abstinence across Africa, rather than just talking about it? (like I said, phony outrage?)
To be honest, he should be more worried about his own brethren playing with little boys after church. . .
All in all, I can really care less about what the pope has to say (especially when it comes to Africa).
Btw, asking Africans to practice abstinence while demonizing condoms is nothing short of retarded IMO, but what more can you expect from an aging virgin? |

I don't understand why an organization with as much money as the Catholic Church doesn't start some type of "grass roots" movement since they're so concerned.
or is this just another case of phony outrage? |

Politics › "I Want The Kind People Of Nigeria To Help Me Beg The First Bank Of Nigeria Plc" by blackspade(op): 9:00am On Mar 19, 2009 |
dafeyankee: PLEASE HELP ME BEG THE FIRST BANK AGAINST THIS FRAUD
The Management of First Bank and the Kind people of Nigeria,
I am writing this letter as i want the kind people of Nigeria to help me BEG the First Bank Of Nigeria Plc.
I am writing the letter as a man without any option left than to cry out against this fraud that has been perpetuated against me by the First Bank Of Nigeria Plc.
I sent $1700 via WESTERN UNION to my family via my younger sister on Friday 13th March 2009 from the Queensway Nigeria Restaurant Riverdale Maryland State United States with MTCN number 168-361-5242 to Gloria Onome Ovabore/test question sister/test answer sister.
On getting home from work which was late in the United States but very early in Nigeria,i now called my family and gave them the information with which to pick up the money.
My sister went to First Bank Adebola House 40, Opebi Road, Off Allen Avenue on Saturday and this was where the fraud started.
While filling the form she mistakenly wrote SIS/SIS instead of SISTER/SISTER on the test and answer question of the claims form which she said was due to the fact that she was still sleepy when i was given her the informations.
The first Bank staff in charge of western union now told my sister that for making that mistake he is sending the money back to the United States and my sister immediately called me and i of course perceived something not right.
I told her to correct the informations and collect the money but the First Bank Official now said he has sent back the money to the United States and that i will receive my money back on monday and all this happended under five minutes, this sounded really suspicious because i see no sense in sending my money back to me which i sent at first to Nigeria.
As early as 8.am Nigeria time on Monday the 16TH of March i called First Bank Head Office on +234-1-9052000 after searching and getting their number through the internet and explained to the lady customer service person on the status of the money i sent.
After hearing my story she immediately connected me to the Western Union Department of the Bank and this was where the second leg of the fraud was perpetuated.
I was connected to a Mr Gbenga Bayode or Gbenga loyode or better put a Gbenga fellow and he calmly listened to me and said i should call him later to ascertain my story if really the money has not been paid out.
I called again in exactly an hour and he confirmed to me that the money has been returned to the United States and i should go to the agent i sent the money from, and i promptly did that.
The agent called the Western Union and he was informed that the money has not been sent and its still with First Bank.
I have also been calling Western Union Customer Service in the United State on 1-800-325-6000 who have promised to look into the matter but the 7 days they are telling me that they would get back to me is too long as my aged parents and my seven(7)siblings really need this money urgently both for their house rent and school fees for two of my younger one's in the tertiary institution.
My family(Aged mother and my sister)all this while were sitted in Front of First Bank Adebola House 40, Opebi Road, Off Allen Avenue while i was running around in ensuring this matter was resolved and they were there until the bank closed in the evening from 8:am in the morning.
Between Gbenga from the Head Office and the yet to be ascertained staff at the First Bank Opebi Branch, somebody is holding on to my sweat and there fore putting my entire family into hunger and this is why i am begging all well meaning Nigerians to help me beg them to release this money to my parents, this bankers i know you have aged parents,so please i beg of you not to let my father and mother suffer.
I am desperate as i see no other means of coming up with another money as shame will not allow me say on the pages of a newspaper the degrading job i have been doing here in trying to make my family in Nigeria not go hungry.
My parents are poor and not educated and cannot afford to go to the police station to pursue this matter and that is why i am on my knees crying and begging the Management of First Bank to compel their staff to release this money.
I know it is a common practice for banker's to fraudulently collect money(western union) not belonging to them under one guise or the other, but i beg you bankers to leave this particular money alone as it will go a long way in removing my family from their present condition.
Chief Gani Fawehinmi,Femi Falana and Festus Keyamo please i have read a lot about you guys on the pages of the Newspapers and know you fight for the oppressed like my family, please help me.
I have also instructed my younger sister to make a police report first thing tomorrow(17th March 2009)morning at the Area F police station Ikeja.
Please Mr Marvel Akpoybo Police Commisioner Lagos State, please EFCC, please everybody help me beg First Bank to help me return my money.
Before sending this mail out at Maryland State local time 5:39 pm i have just finished speaking with Western Union USA who told me that i should again contact First Bank as they are holding my money.
My younger sister's number is +234 8023716420
Dafe Ovabore. If this guys story is fraudulent, it'll be one of the most sincere frauds I've ever had the chance to read. This is so sad, please people, lets try and help this guy. Link to original post: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-183675.96.html#msg3605972 |
