PoliticsRe: The Lagos Of My Dreams: by blackspade(m): 12:48pm On Nov 24, 2009
My dream for Lagos goes far and beyond that. . . .alongside the non-pothole streets will be tramways that will transport Lagosians to the places they need to be. At a nearby station there will be a connection the the subway system and commuter rail system for suburbanites. A high speed rail network would whiz passengers from locations such as Lekki or Apapa to MMA in a matter of minutes.  All of this (along w/ ferries, brts, etc) will form an integrated transportation network that will rival many cities abroad. Thousands of social housing units will be built on the outskirts of the city (chinese/commie block style, we have to build up), and slum areas will be redeveloped into mixed income/use districts. New highways will be built, while new ones are upgraded. Highways that block off waterways will be put underground or turned into avenues with trams. Where there is social housing, there will be industrial parks nearby for employment. New schools and hospitals will be  built, and existing ones will be upgraded. I would also like to see a green belt established so we can encourage sustainable development, and discourage endless sprawl. . . .I could go on and on but I just do not have the time to fully go into detail about my dreams for Lagos.

Some of these dreams are slowly starting to materialize, see here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-222881.0.html

Phuck NL, Buffnaija,

"WHO NEVER GO NOR NO HOW FAR", u just sit down at home not knowing whts happening outside your land, yet u conderm person wen won try enter Poland and the country itself, i study in warsaw Poland(2 yr MBA,which is the cheapest you can get anywhere),am currently in my final semester, and if given a second chance to choose btw Poland and Uk visa which would i choose?, i"ll stick to Poland visa yet again, i did post a blog last may about "AMERICAN VISA ATLAST'!, (pls go thr/google nairaland search engine and read through)Yeah, it was thru dis Poland i got that US J1 visa(work visa) plus social security card cum number and work experince certificate, For Life!, about 8 nigerians in my school now have 2 yrs invitation visa to Usa and Funke just won American lottery thru this Poland( Polish citizens are not allowed to apply so your chances of getting it from here is quite hihg) , The funny thing is,my interview didnot last more than 5minutes ,

My friends Akp, Afolabi, Dare, Samali et atall are all married(within just 8months of coming to dis country), Poland is one of very few countries in Europe were you can easily get your documents(Permanent stay), the Population here is about 4 to 1(for every one man,u have four single ladies), Somany women looking for husbands, I still have some Nigerians coming from Italy,Austra and German to look for ladies here, Just last month,i met a nigerian from Kaduna with his girlfriend(whity) from Check republic, coming to Poland to look for solution,

Well wht am trying to say is that yes they dont speak english here but i dey survive, the country maybe poor but if u get a job here, its ok to cover your expenses, they the Polish pple are eager to learn english, and are willing to pay u good money to teach them besides Poland has very good relationship with Usa, Canada(visa free) and Australia, which means if you live in Poland as a student,u can easily gain access to these countries.I plan to work in Canada nxt summer, (and also to go for a second masters degree in Clark university,an american university where by u get to finish your studies in America for just 3500 dollars), and one or two semesters in Poland, depending on you

In addition, polish visa(shengen visa) allows me access to 22 countries in Europe which means i can even work in Norway,Denmark or Luxemburg( nations with extremly high percapital income), i hv seen Spain( fuen labrda madrid), and Germany with my temporary resident card, and i wish to start shipping goods from Germany to n9ja once am done with my programme whilst doing my second masters on a light scale,

Well as at last year April 2008,when we(8 or us), went to apply for visa in Abuja,7 of us got it,i must say we were lucky,i wonder why its getting so dificult, moreso,of all the international students in my school, its mailny nigerians that dont run away, most of the guys from Nepal, bangladish, india have all stopped school and gone to Norway to hussle( but dem dey mk serious money sha untop d menial jobs dey do), why the Tunisian contingent hv all dissapeared to France,

So fellas, information is Power,
Wow! Congratulations for accomplishing so much in so little time, and thanks for leaving this piece of information.

I'm amazed at just how obsessed some of these racist euroshits are with us. Why would someone who openly despises a group of people register to a forum that caters to that specific group, and post there? This oyinbo really must not have a life; NordicRace is probably just another single, aging european male who blames blacks for why his life is so miserable. I hope wherever this loser lives is flooded with African immigrants (if it hasn't already).

Thats rich, a negro from nigerian. Calling me, an advanced white european, a cave dweller.
It seems our advanced white European guest hasn't mastered the English language. Judging from your atrocious grammar, would you happen to be 'european' posting under a different username?

PoliticsRe: Okoya-thomas Wants Nigerians To Learn French by blackspade(m): 10:41pm On Nov 23, 2009
Learning Spanish would make more sense in my opinion. With large Spanish speaking nations expected to represent some of the worlds largest economies in the not too distant future, I would seriously reconsider French, and go towards learning Spanish (I'm about to go to Spanish 2 btw). Learning Mandarin would make sense too, but I doubt that China's economic rise would put it on the level of English, especially considering over 300m Chinese already know it, with many more learning. I also hear Mandarin is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn and it takes years to master for non-native speakers- another reason why I don't think it will be as prominent as English.

Is there anywhere in Canada where there are large concentrations of Nigerians, or is our population there still very small?

TravelRe: Oh My God!something Urgently Should Be Done About This! by blackspade(m): 9:29pm On Nov 19, 2009
Wow. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Just wow.

Morocco is actually one of the more tolerant countries in the Maghreb, and look at how we behave? I have spoken to many Moroccans, and the majority them are very welcoming to immigrants from Nigeria and the rest of sub Saharan African (especially Senegalese, a lot say Senegal is their brother country). If this continues, I would not be surprised if they develop a xenophobic attitude similar to Libyans and Egyptians, where not only the police, but the populace also despises blacks. undecided

I really hope the best for that girl.

@ all

For the last time, I didn't start this thread to complain about Peckham. I started it so everyone could see just how densely populated the place is with Nigerians. I explained this a few pages back: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-350165.96.html#msg4911761) . . . .stop assuming I dislike Peckham. Not one time in this thread did I say anything bad about Peckham.
