The Congress for Progressive (CPC) has officially rejected the results of the 2011 Presidential Election.

The presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, Muhammadu Buhari, has lodged a complaint with the Independent National Electoral Commission over the results of the presidential election which held in various parts of Nigeria last Saturday.

Speaking on Aljazeera, Monday, in reaction to questions on the rising protest and violence in the North where he has a large number of supporters, Mr Buhari said the announced results were false and that he had laid his complaints before the electoral body. He said the body has agreed to check the score sheets manually and compare with the results they inputed to their electronic system.

The former head of state said he based his allegations of electoral fraud on reports he got from party representatives from various polling booths in the North.

Popularity does not automatically translate to effectiveness

Unfortunately popularity don't run governments.  I would be interested to see how popularity will swim upstream .  A man that romances the corrupt status quo.  

Every 4 years - The expectation of the average Nigerian is raised only to dashed down the line  - Have you read the inauguration speeches of OBJ and Yar adua - In those speeches what can you identify with that is now reality

I respect the people of Osun state  - They are about the last group of feel the evil claws of PDP  hence they responded how a sensible bunch should respond.

Majority said they voted for the man and not the party ?  So what happens when the man you voted for gives your money and opportunities to his fellow PDP member.


I say it is a very dumb move  - only losers/helpless share that ideology of defeat.

I would be very interested to hear the Great fela's response on the above matter.

I salute the people of Osun  - this type of voting should have  been replayed across Nigeria rather than reward a pdp and candidate who are responsible for large scale poverty across Nigeria.

i agree 100%   - I am not a supporter of buhari  - it is so unfortunate that people who are capable of salvaging Nigeria are never given  the chance hence we are left with coup plotters, murderers , thieves and those who get to the summit by luck ( the story of Nigeria)

Ain't making up no story, I really duff my heart to folks that endanger their lives to get news. It was really sad knowing most of the. Nigeria is a complex jungle  -

the sad truth is  - nobody voted based on real issues but more along ethnic or religious line hence you have a case of the south south predominately voting gej even though his party is responsible for a large chunk of their of problems .

rather than vote on the lines of real lssues  - such as economic - many voted based on sentiments  " he is our son "  or " my religion"  as witnessed in the north

S-South (9.5m) + S-East (7.5m) is 2.8m voters short of the voting strength of the N-West (19.8m)
