This Biafran flag is really dull. The colours should have been white, red and black which is the the colour combination of that traditional cap that sags. Or maybe red, brown and black which is the colour combination of isiagu attire. |

Politics › Re: Nigerian Government Starts Paying N5,000 Every Month To Poorest Citizens by Blackteeth(m): 5:39pm On Jan 03, 2017 |
mapet: Essentially the scheme is not for beggars. The Lagos State government has for example discouraged people from giving beggars money, especially the "perpetual beggars". The Lagos state government estimated that an average street beggar goes home with nothing less than N3,500 a day........ The Lagos State government is a fool. The government would never employ beggars and the same time they are discouraging people from assisting them. How then do you want them to survive? So because they make 100k per month therefore they shouldn't be giving help anymore? They should all die? What if these beggars resort to crime to survive would that be better? |

curiositymaster: How are you sure all the beggars at the motor parks are really poor? Some of those 'Beggars' are landlords you know. Their is one aboki beggar like that who has more than 3 okadas that do deliver for him. aknabob: some beggars are better than some ppl, bt u wouldn't knw cos dey are begging ceejay80s: Don't let those beggars deceive u, in 2002, I know a beggar who begs in ebute metta area of lagos state, he sits and begs opposite my friends shop, I traveled to kano and saw this same man raring cattles, he has a lot and when he's done in kano, he comes back to lagos to begg again efilefun: Dont be surprise some of those dudes are well comfortable "financially" but they prefer begging as a source of income, while they have stores and co managed by either their kids or spouse. There are also some group of mallams who are being paid % of what they earned by the people who shipped them from the north to various locations to beg and earn So because you guys knew one or two beggars doing well therefore every other beggars are doing well too and should not be taken serious and given assistance? Na wah for una reasoning oh |

The poorest citizens should be the beggars at the motor parks. They are the ones who deserve it. |

Sagamite: If he wants to quit simply because he misses his kids, that is nonsense.
As much as I love kids, I also know it is expensive to raise them and give them the good things in life.
If he wants to quit because he misses his kids, actually hates his job and he has another sustainable avenue of making a living that he likes, then he needs to hand in his resignation asap.
Life is about being happy. But happiness does not normally come from being broke and failing your family. Well, I don't think it's about missing his kids. He said the job exposes him to dangers and keeps him away from his family for 6 months. So I think he has a reason to get frustrated. |

Culture › Re: Only The Ooni Of Ife Can Inherit The Late Ooni’s Widows Says Tradition(pictures) by Blackteeth(m): 10:23am On Dec 13, 2015 |
crispgg: People always misinterprete this yoruba tradition. There are two reasons why this is done. 1. Back in the day, yoruba kings were seen as demi-gods and highly revered. Therefore it was thought not to be proper for the young widows who were still young enough to remarry be taken up by mere mortals. Hence, another Oba must inherit them.
2. For the older wives, some of them very old. Who would take care of them if the new Oba sends them packing from the palace? Hence, he is also to become their husband thereby guaranteeing their sustenance till death. He might not even set eyes on them till they die. But he has the responsibility for their well being. That is the whole essence of this practice Doesn't make any iota of sense. They could have still made it a tradition for the new Oba to take care of the widows and not necessarily marrying them. Must the new Oba marry them before he can take care of them? African tradition is bull crap. |

honeygirl17: I disagree with number 6
we the Rivers people have fallen in love with Wike due to what he has done few months in office, there is massive road construction going on in the State what the previous administration could not do. most of the roads were in a bad shape, Apajo road that leads to the refinery was like a dead trap, he has won the love of most Rivers people. I am speaking the mind of most Rivers people. I believe strongly that wike will win even if election is conducted 20 times. I mean free and fair election. Buhari don't disappoint us further. Nigerians still never sabi their politicians. He definitely did those things to win the support of the masses because he knows his election maybe cancelled. If he wins the next election I guess he wouldn't bother about your roads anymore. |
