That's a lie. I attended schools where flogging was not allowed and I grew up to be a model citizen. My parents beat me where necessary to correct me.

I will never allow any teacher flog my kids. If you try it, I will ensure you sleep in a cell. Only myself and my husband are allowed to touch my kids. Nobody should pour out their frustration on my kids.

No one there is up to 60 years of age, so even the retirement by age doesn't add up. This doesn't seem right .
Look at the date of retirement and then determine how old they would be by that date.

I had tears in my eyes. Yeah, i am at work. It's so embarrasing.

Can we have people stick up for a child like that in Nigeria?

Where even parents are the ones that insult the child the most.

Still have goosebumps

What they should learn is that even if it would cause the country to fall to it's knees, obey before complaint. They should have disconnected the 5.1m and then let the country deal with the fallout instead of them dealing with the fallout.

You can imagine that kidnappers and such like were using these sim numbers to beat police surveillance. Evidence in point is the kidnap of Olu Falae.

, cost of goods sold you mentioned; i missed it for "Earning from goods sold" that's why i said is not what i'm talking about untill i go back to read through again. But the report says Cost of Sales, which means the cost incured in the process of selling after the goods has been produced, you also spread it when you said, Cost that are directly tied to the production (Cost of production) which analysis of Showurcertificate was directed to. Now it's obvious the report say's Cost of sales; which form part of operating expenses, and not the Cost of production that was tied directly to the Production; that's my arguement.
I give up! While you're at it, kindly write you're own accounting text books.

Ayoola171:
read very well, i dont mean Cost of goods sold when i said COST OF SALES, I agreed Cost of sales is part of operating expenses as you said, @showyourcertificatetalked vividly on Cost of Production, but after the goods has been produced, what are those factors that made up their Cost of Sales that eroded their profit ? despite the fact that, their was 3% increase in their earning if you check very well, that's my own concern. Is it the cost of transporting their goods, advertisement, commision to their sales rep/distributors an so on. So i dont mean the cost of goods sold.
I actually thought I was conversing with someone with some knowledge of the matter. Cost of goods sold and cost of sales are the same thing. Even a simple Google search will tell you that.

If I was you, I'll do the marriage the catholic way and get the love of my life first.( Afterall it's the same God we serve). Then when I take her home, I can do whatever I want and they have to follow.
All this dogmas and traditions and shiiit..
My friends elder bro wanted to marry this girl, he's being with her for 3 years and there were soo into each other, but when the time came, her parents refused. You know why? Because the elder sister had not married so she has to wait for the elder sister to marry first. Lol
That's marriage by deception.

Ayoola171:
Hello bro, that 76% loss is not good for our Economy in general, but if you read through again, there is no where they say's such loss was due to their cost of production as you pointed out. What the report say's was due to increase in their own COST of SALES i.e after the products has been produced. The question is still that; what are the factors that responsible for such sales cost?
Do not misinform people.

Cost of Sales is the cost of creating the products that a company sells; therefore, the only costs included in the measure are those that are directly tied to the production of the products.

Any cost after production will be an indirect cost and form part of your operating expense not cost of goods sold.

It's still all speculation.

None of the reasons you provided, as bright as they are, is conclusive.

Even if Fx rate moves against you, you might save costs in other areas. Eg finance cost.
Sure, you're quite right. Not until we see their financial statements. It's the part of wine and champagne that I thought was off at least in this case.

You called someone a dullard yet no post can be duller than yours.

Beer is suffering loss of market share mainly because many people now drink wine and champagne.

Nigeria is one of the places where the growth of champagne consumption is highest in the world.

Besides, do you know the reason for the increase in costs? Do you know if some of their debts went bad?
I will fault your submission a bit. Increase in consumption of wine and spirits may not really be having that big an influence as their revenue actually grew. It's increase in the cost of sales (can hazard a guess that cost of raw materials increased because of the foreign exchange rate and restrictions on foreign currency) . Other income reduced significantly. Maybe investments had to be cancelled so as to source for more working capital, etc. Also, they might have done something major last year like dispose of significant amounts of their fixed assets, gotten a windfall etc.

This morning Niger Dock sacks 1400 staffers of Nigerian origin. A friend of mine who works there just called that the company pasted their (Nigerian Staffers) names on the front gate of the company as the gate is under lock and key.

Cc seun, Lalasticlala davide470
It is so sad to see how far Nigerdock has fallen. I spent a good part of my childhood on their island. It was the best run parastatal in Nigeria, i make no bones about it. Then, there were not that many expatriates and they actually built and repaired boats. The boat and ferry in use then were created by the engineers there. No dichotomy between expatriates and Nigerians (only between junior and senior staff).

It's sad.
Career › Re: KPMG: My Temp Experience by blank(f):
I first heard of KPMG as an undergraduate studying accountancy in UNN. We were quite a number that passed their exam (comprising of various departments) and were invited to do the interview in Lagos. After all, they asked those of us still in school to be posted to their office for service and then continue from there. Although i never went back to continue the process, i ended up working for some of the other big 4.

I am surprised to hear that they did not continue with the tests in UNN. It was quite interesting and very tasking.

I see them sometimes when i have to pass there.

They have stopped me only once. They asked for all my documents, i gave them including a laminated colour copy of my driver's license. They asked for the original and i told them that they can get whatever information they want from it or charge me to court for driving without the original license. They started all the bullshit about custom papers, i showed them that all import duties were paid by the car registered dealer as it was bought new.

I told them to either return my license or i report them for stealing my license amongst other things and they let me go. Maybe cause i am a woman and also maybe cause i spoke with some sort of authority. I cannot ever give them my original documents, always a colour photocopy.
